NEVER AGAIN!!!!

We relocated from Texas to North Carolina in May of this year. We were originally quoted $18,000. We moved out of a 3800 sq ft house, so admittedly have a lot of stuff. They requested to come over to start packing, and that day we were informed that there would be an extra $3,000 charge since we live on a hill. Tommy actually looked up our house on GoogleEarth the day the reservation was made. IF THERE HAD BEEN A PROBLEM GETTING THE TRUCK TO OUR HOUSE THEY COULD HAVE TOLD US AT THAT TIME.They didn't.
When the showed up to pack the day before we were scheduled to move, the crew chief told me about the extra $3000 charge. When I balked about the last-minute charge that we hadn't planned for, he sent the packers OUTSIDE and yelled at me, saying that if I didn't like it, they could pack up and leave and we could find another company. We were kind of over a barrel at that point, and felt we were stuck. When I told him we would be leading a negative review, he said to write whatever I wanted to...they would refute it, and it wouldn't make a bit of difference. HE LITERALLY YELLED AT ME.
On top of this one packer hung around and tried to guilt me into a tip, even after I explained that we just didn't have it due to the extra $3000 we had been charged at the last minute.
Everything has now been unpacked, and some antique items are missing, and we have found items stuffed in supposedly empty suitcases, and some boxes had ZERO labeling.
On top of this, some items were broken; some pieces were antique and had sentimental value. They just weren't packed well. I was told we couldn'tfile an insurance claim because we don't have all of the paperwork, even though I found everything I was given.
I was told that THEY dont have copies of anything. Why not???
We would NEVER, EVER recommend this company to anyone. Ever.
PS- after reading other reviews of this company, I discovered our experience of being suddenly upcharged isn't uncommon for this company. Do your homework and then RUN!!

TEXAS MOVERS GROUP-DON’T HIRE THEM

My Fellow Texans!!! DO NOT USE this "moving company". If you Google this company, they will gladly advertise that they are the "#1 moving company in Dallas" and "expert moving company" this is all false! These guys are a complete scam!! Facebook reviews don’t touch the level of incompetence and total disregard and disrespect for the customer and the customers belongings! Read the reviews on YELP they are all true if they say, "my things were broken", "it was a bait and switch", the “Dispatcher got in a fight with my husband/ wife," they didn't show up when they agreed to” the list goes on and on. If the review says "great move" or "5 stars" that's complete bullshit. Save yourself time, aggregation and money. GO ELSEWHERE- ANYWHERE but here. We scheduled our move, with "Austin" not sure that's his real name and the move was delayed because THEY didn’t talk to each other and booked other people on our day- we were Approached by a VERY AGGRESSIVE person "Zack" on the day of the move who within 5 minutes of arriving had picked an actual fight with my husband. We should've walked away right then. But they of course took advantage of our need to move and nailed us with a 5k up charge, yes $5,000 more than what we’d already paid them! Our things arrived late in San Diego, broken, scratched, ripped, boxes collapsed, metal items bent and destroyed! If I could give them ZERO stars I would but in order to write the review and hopefully save all of you the hassle of this company and these worthless people, I had to give them 1 Star 🤷🏼‍♀️ I will continue to write this review on EVERY site I can to get the word out - if you have questions feel free to reach out to me.

STAY FAR AWAY FROM THESE SCAMMERS!!!!!

STAY FAR AWAY FROM THESE SCAMMERS!!!!!
To move our daughter from Denton, Texas, to Cleveland, OH, we contacted Texas Mover Group because they offered the best affordable price. We signed the contract with them on June 12, 2025, and paid an initial deposit of $915 to Tommy, the company's contact person. When they arrived on June 21, the scheduled pickup day, they unexpectedly raised the price by more than three times. When we objected, they refused to refund 80% of our deposit, forcing us to accept their new rate. Additionally, our daughter had already vacated her apartment and finalized the move, leaving us little choice but to accept their price hike at the last minute. We signed a new contract and paid an extra $2000 to Zack, who arrived with his crew to pick up our belongings. He promised that our daughter’s items would arrive between June 23 and 27.
When we didn’t receive our belongings until June 27th, we started calling the company, but no one answered. We left voicemails and sent emails, but they didn’t respond. Tommy and Zack stopped answering the phone, and the front desk lady, Michelle, told us to talk to the truck driver. On June 30th, when we finally spoke to the truck driver, he scheduled to arrive by July 8 or 9 because he was en route to Minnesota, then Michigan, and after that, Cleveland. Our daughter’s new job at Case Western started on July 1st, and all her apartment belongings were with this company, which caused her a lot of stress. After trying many times, someone finally answered the phone in reception, but when we expressed our frustration, they hung up on us. We sent an email on June 30th to express our concerns and how poorly we were being treated.
Upon reading the email, that same evening, 6/30/25, the woman at the front desk from Texas Movers Group (possibly Michell) called me at 6:24 pm and yelled at me for three minutes straight, and she couldn't hear anything. Then Zack called at 6:40 pm (310-999-4220) on the same day and yelled and threatened me, so I had to hang up because we aren't used to hearing this kind of yelling from a service company operating in the US. Zack left three voicemails in which he threatened me, daring me to call the police and report that he had stolen our belongings. He also instructed me to come to Dallas to pick up our things. These messages reveal the character and conduct of this company and how it treats its customers.
The following day, on July 1st, we emailed and left voice messages to the company. They delivered our items on July 3rd and charged us an additional $150 on top of the original amount of $4,215. They required us to make the payment in cash or with a cashier’s check.
These individuals are scammers and cheaters who engage in unlawful activities by trapping consumers. They lure customers in with an initial contract for a lower amount and then suddenly triple the price during the pick-up. This has become their modus operandi.

We encountered 4 and 5-star reviews on their website, which we later realized were misleading. Unfortunately, we neglected to check independent reviews on Yelp and other sites. When we sent voicemails regarding this issue to their employee, no one from the company reached out to apologize for their unacceptable behavior. A company like this should not be allowed to operate in the U.S., and its license should be revoked. This is not the standard that U.S. consumers deserve.

Don't fall for it

Don't fall for it. Tommy is extremely pushy, to the point of aggressive. Lots of promises about how good they are, how I shouldn't use anyone else. I paid almost $7000, and they broke and stole or misplaced so much. I filed with the insurance, which offered me $13 for over $2000 of broken stuff. Now I have to go to small-claims court, and this time, I will list everything they broke. I was generous when I filed with the insurance.

They just threw glassware, computers, all kinds of stuff into big boxes. Just awful--traumatic, depressing, and costly.

Btw--editing to add the comment they left on my Google review is bogus. They have not returned my call or offered to make this right.

I am filing a class-action lawsuit against them, so if anyone else reading this has been dealt with as poorly as I have, please reach out to me and I will share the details.
