Terrace Downs Resort Recensioni 

A very welcoming and enjoyable experience which began with a very personal email in response to my booking asking if we would like bookings for any activitiews dinner or the spa while we were there.
While en-route to Terrace Downs on the day of arrival reception called and advised us to take care on the road as they had a lot of snow around and that they looked forward to seeing us in about an hour.
The villa was just gorgeous and had every little thing we could have ever wanted. We asked to be left alone with no servicing and they did just that. It was warm and welcoming when we arrived at the villa with a stunning view of snow covered mountains fields and golf course. We dined in the restuarant one night and the service and quality of food was excellent. All in all..cant wait to go back..its a stunner.

We arrived four hours after we had anticipated. It was after 7pm, dark and negative two degrees. The lovely team at Terrace Downs had turned on the electric blanket on our bed and the heatpump was on introducing us to a lovely warm villa. It was greatly appreciated.
Having the gas fire was also an extra added bonus. :-)
We had a fantastic time with Neil and his adorable five month old Springer, Ted, learning Archery in the snow - it was fantastic. Felt like we were in a Game of Thrones scene.
We highly recommend the couples tranquility spa - well worth the money. To finish off we enjoyed a wonderful dinner in the Hunter Restaurant on our last nite. The food was excellent and on a cold winters nite the large fire just added that little extra magic.
Only down side we had the whole stay was the lack of lighting (there were no lights on) from the carpark to the main building/restaurant after dark which once highlighted to the staff was rectified by the time we returned to our car after dinner.
We found all the staff were friendly and helpful during our stay.
Thank you Terrace Downs (and Neil) we look forward to staying again - try a summer season next visit so we can enjoy some of the golf and the clay shooting.

Our Villa was warm and comfortable with lovely views. All staff were very friendly and helpful. We stayed for only one night, but thoroughly enjoyed our experience.

We really enjoyed our room & the stay at Terrace downs, the one bedroom unit was well appointed, lots room, very clean and a fantastic location. A truly great room.
Staff were very pleasant and welcoming and made you feel at home.
The food however was very poor; from the blue cod and chips in the afternoon where the cod was just not pleasant with 2 very small sized pieces and soggy chips. The dinner that night, Prawn cocktail was great, lots of flavour however the beef main was overcooked, asked for Rare served medium/well (yes I could have sent it back but we were the only ones in restaurant and the host had told us last orders at 7pm) the vegetable combo of Broccoli, pale bacon and courgette all wrapped together was not pleasant.

Of course I could have sent it all back and asked it all to be redone but whilst the wait staff were very accommodating and pleasant as we were the only group there and they wanted to close.

I would like to return at some point and give the food another try.

We stayed in one of the one bedroom apartments, which was very tasteful and well appointed. But we felt the bedroom was quite a bit cooler than the rest of the apartment . However that is the only negative that we vame away with . The staff were very helpfull and the food in the Cafe and main resturant were fabulous . we'll be back.

Front desk girls were extra helpful and chalets were superbly resourced and serviced. A wonderful place to celebrate our Golden Wedding! The scenery brought approval from our overseas- based family. Plenty of activities kept the grandchildren busy.

Not my first time at Terrace Downs Resort and as a ex pat kiwi was proud to bring a couple of aussie mates to this wonderful resort. Very helpful staff and the view from our villa awesome..... Golf , archery , mountain bikes and even tennis the resort has it all. Fine food and nice having a cold ale over looking the 9th hole. Our room first class and 4 nights of luxury at a very competitive price. Yes will see you again.....

Terrace Downs Resort was amazing. Breathtakingly beautiful, quiet and still but above all luxurious. Perfect for couples, families and groups. The mountain views are inspiring and the chalet facilities are absolutely top notch. The staff are excellent and the overall service was a breathe of fresh air.

Nicest villas I've ever stayed in. Very luxurious and well worth the visit . Hunters restaurant was a little disappointing with regards to the food (not very gourmet or 5 star options ) but service was great from all the staff at the resort .... will be back !!

My husband and I stayed here at the start of our special anniversary trip to NZ just last week (28/6 - 1/7). What a fabulous resort with the most stunning views. We just loved the serenity and peacefulness. Fairly close to Mount Hutt for skiing too. The villa we stayed in was just perfect and I never got tired of the view outside. It has made it hard not to compare other places during our trip to our wonderful stay at Terrace Downs. Special thank you to the new receptionist Emma who was so helpful and kind. 10/10 stay

Had a lovely relaxing stay, Villa was clean and tidy. Platter a very pleasant surprise. Massage at spa marvellous. Would recommend for a special treat.

Went away for the night with some girlfriends and found Terrace Downs to be amazing and so helpful. The lunch at the cafe was yum. We stayed in one of the villa's and it was comfortable and warm. The room with the spa was great. We enjoyed the spa facilities, which made for a relaxing afternoon. Woke up to stunning views of the mountains. Would definitely go back.

Overall, a good experience. Standard of accommodation was ok.

We were disappointed that, for the tariff we paid, there was no sky TV.
As it happened, the weather was not good (We were ok with that, I have played golf at Terrace Downs several times before & know what the weather can be like), so, we were indoors and had very few TV options. Surely a resort of this standard offers SKY TV? The night before we stayed in a crappy motel in Timaru, but, it offered Sky TV?

We had such a great stay at Terrace Downs. The spa was stunning, my husband and I both had great massages. Our villa was immaculately clean, comfortable and well-appointed. As part of our his and hers package we received a bottle of wine and a platter. We couldn't believe how generous the platter was. Fantastic. Our only very slight reservation was the breakfast, which for a rest of this standard was average. Unfortunate that the espresso machine wasn't working and also the variety of food wasn't huge or particularly interesting compared to other properties of this standard. Other than that we had a great stay and would recommend it to anyone. Friendly staff and professional service. Thank you.

We went to Terrace Downs for my granddaughter's 21st birthday. We had lunch, did the Mini Olympic challenge then chilled out in our Chalet. We had dinner in the restaurant and stayed the night. I honestly couldn't fault anything. The food was excellent, and the couple running the mini Olympic challenge were excellent which made the whole experience fun. Booking our trip was made easy by the booking staff and nothing was a problem. The accommodation was awesome. Every one of our party had nothing but good things to say about their experience at Terrace Downs. Thanks guys for a fantastic stay. I would recommend them wholeheartedly

Went for my husbands birthday and had an amazing relaxing time , the veiws the accomadation to the food was all excellent and recommend to all , will defintley be back later in the year .

This was a place we wished we could have stayed, or afforded to stay longer! Extremely comfortable with all the luxuries required even down to a heated wall mirror. Gas fire was great. Views were stunning. No expense was spared.

We only stayed one night but wish we could have stayed more - it was amazing. Comfy bed, beautiful views and friendly service. Will be back!

Stayed for two nights and found the rooms very well appointed.
Where the complex let itself down was in the food area, very (below) average for an upmarket lodge. The room information kit advises that you have a choice of two types of breakfast and states two different prices. However upon arriving at the café we were told that only hot breakfasts were available for $28 per head. no concessions were made for our children who ate a quarter of what we ate. Not family friendly.
On the day of arrival we all had lunch in the café the food was dry, bad, & pricy and the coffee not fresh and was undrinkable. All in all not up too standard.

Went here for a wedding and had a great time. The venue even though it was indoors due to weather was still beautiful. Food was great both wedding and cafe food for lunch...
accomodation was amazing. Great views, comfortable bed and good kitchen set up.
