Very disappointing experience. After waiting 3 hours to get my tyres fitted (last week), I was disappointed to discover two things; 1. the tyres were not exactly what I had purchased (through their EBAY site). I bought CONTINENTAL ContiSportContact 7’s, but what I got were CONTINENTAL ContiSportContact 7 (MO1)’s 2. and worse, they were very dated stock - stamped 0823 and 0923. So these tyres are nearly 3 years on from the date of manufacturing (2 years 9 months to be precise).

When I raised these issues, the responses were not satisfactory or honest.

Regarding the MO1 thing, I was told that eBay was to blame, because they actively remove the MO1 description from any posts. I find this very hard to believe, in fact, I don’t believe it. Other sellers on Ebay use that very description in their posts. They also wanted to tell me the MO1's were the better tyre - they were doing me a favour!

As for the age of the tyres, a staff member and a manager both insisted that the tyres were not ‘old’, and that tyres were well within some '5 year limit' you are legally allowed to sell them. I was also given a lengthy, irrelevant, condescending explanation about how long things take to get shipped to Australia, comments about 'calendar years', and 8 year warranties…The general vibe was, 'you don’t understand how our industry works’. None of it explained why the tyres put on my car were nearly three years old. No-one would acknowledge that this was an issue.

If you're wanting to clear old stock, you have a responsibility to tell people up front, not just hope they either don’t notice and when they do, give them some ridiculous story about how long tyres spend on a ship coming to Australia. It's a waste of everyone's time.

In the end, I was offered two options.

Put my old tyres back on and refund the purchase. Come back tomorrow and get the standard product for $100 more per tyre.

I had already spent 3 hours waiting around to get the tyres installed (I don’t live nearby - arrived at 1:30pm, left at 5pm), so I wasn’t keen to waste another half-day, nor was I willing to spend another $400 (what they insisted I had to pay to get the standard tyres I had ordered.

So I asked about getting my old tyres put back on. When we went and inspected the pile of removed tyres, I was told that mine couldn’t be seen in the pile that was there - probably under others at the bottom of the pile. It was now 5pm and everyone was leaving for the day. I reluctantly decided my best option at this point was to accept that they weren't willing to do anything else for me, and so I went home with my new (old) tyres.

Overall, a very disappointing experience.

I used to recommend Tempe Tyres. Always very good on price. But, they have moved their warehouse so the tyres are not on site. Told it would be a three hour wait and no possibility to come back once they had sourced the tire. Of no use for busy people.

This was the worst experience I have ever had in over 45 years of driving. I drove in where I was greeted as I got out of the car, we selected a tyre & was told would be 15 to 20 minutes which was all fine, started to get annoyed after 45 minutes after all it was just 1 tyre. After that they came & told me there were no tools to release the spare tyre. I rang where I had the car serviced recently to find out what they had done with it. Meanwhile while on hold I checked the tool compartment where the required tools were there & handed to the technician to complete the job, 40 minutes later I finally got out of there. What a massive waste of my time will try a reputable business next time.

Buyer Beware!

I believed I was purchasing a brand-new tyre from Tempe Tyres — and I paid the full price for one. But within just six months, the tyre started going flat. When I called to raise my concerns, I was casually told, “this can happen.”

Unconvinced and frustrated, I took my vehicle to another tyre specialist — and what I learned left me stunned. Not only was the tyre not new, but it had also been previously used and poorly repaired. Right in front of me, the technician removed a plug that had been keeping the tyre barely functional. He confirmed that it was a second-hand tyre and that the repair was substandard, which explained the slow leak.

In short, Tempe Tyres charged me for a new tyre and gave me a used, badly patched one instead.

I will never trust Tempe Tyres again, and I urge others to double-check what they're paying for.

Next level service. Great prices fitted & balanced. I changed from runflats to standard and so had to replace all four corners. 3 of the runflats were still in good condition. Not only did they wrap them, they also fitted them into the rear of my MINI without me even asking. Roseland Branch you are A+

Tyre prices are competitive, but service is non existent. I was advised 1.5-2 hours depending on wheel alignment time when I booked. After over 1 hour the tyre fitting had not even started. When I asked for status I was told that they would start soon, but probably another 2+ hours to complete. When I commented on the service being slow, the reply was “but we are the cheapest in Sydney”….. really? I drove out and ordered tyres elsewhere, and got the same price. I won’t even consider Tempe Tyres again if that is the level of service and attitude!

Don’t bring your car here, just buy the cheap tyres. I had two new front tyres fitted to my Mercedes. The price was unbeatable, but I would have happily payed another shop more to have the job done right. I asked for an alignment, I received the car and the steering wheel was 15 degrees right hand down whilst the wheels were straight, I had to turn back and wait another hour on the already 1.5 hours I’d waited. It went back in and I was told my car was ready, only to find one of the staff ran up a gutter and scratched my rim. Nothing was said in the hope I wouldn’t notice because the driver later admitted to scratching it and didn’t say a word. All confidence lost at this point. The staff were pretty nonchalant about damaging my wheel. They asked if I wanted a discount or repair. I obviously wanted a repair because my car is well presented and with no gutter rash whatsoever. They took the wheel but told me that they couldn’t loan me a wheel because they didn’t have any (which I find ridiculous given it’s a tyre and wheels shop!) so I had to drive around with a space saver for two weeks which was less than ideal and hugely inconvenient on the freeway on which I drive most. Approx two weeks went past so I called up to see how the repair was going, I was put on hold and then informed that the wheel had been repaired and ready, I was immensely frustrated nobody had contacted me and who knows how long it was sitting there whilst I was on a space saver. I returned to the shop to have one of the staff members be outright rude, and after my wheel was installed, I inspected the repair and it was substandard, it looks obviously repaired and I am not happy with it at all. At that stage I just counted my losses and will fork out to have the wheel professionally repaired as I just wanted to be done with the whole experience of dealing with these people. Buy their goods, they’re the cheapest prices around, but don’t let them touch your car, they’re untrustworthy at best. Ownership of the damage should have been disclosed honestly, had I have driven off without noticing, I would have had no claim to damage. Avoid, avoid and avoid.

Was originally told that it would be 20 minutes wait to fit 1 x tyre only. It has now been an hour when I enquired about when it was going to be fitted. I have now been told that the selected tyre is not available & that I have to choose another tyre. This new tyre needs to come from an off site storage facility & means more time. This place is absolutely pathetic. It heavily advised to any future customers to avoid this place entirely. Tempe Tyres absolutely sucks. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY - AVOID AT ALL COSTS.

Waited 4 hours to have two tyres changed. No stock on site. Stock gets delivered after you order, hence the waiting time. Cars get worked on in the driveway/carpark. Unprofessional and risky. Dirty toilets uncleaned. Not recommend.

Good value. Service time reasonable. Helpful staff who gave good explanations- thanks, Iose. Good choice of tyres. Comfortable waiting area with cafe.

These guys are liars and try to upsell women in particular for services not required. I heard the guy tell the woman next to me the same story for a different issue. They said my car would cost $1000 to fix so I went elsewhere for excellent service and paid $250. Girls, don't go near Tempe Tyres in Sydney.

30th Nov Needed a front driver side wheel repaired, the jack post right next to airfilter casing, jacked van up on air filter casing and crushed it upwards pushing up on hose leading to air filter under driver seat which came off, noticed van making a louder noise than normal as I drove off, when engine got hot noticed a lot of hot air coming from under seat, my husband whom works in Sydney all week pulled driver seat out on Saturday 9th, rang to complain 14th DEC said I should have complained straight away. They denied any fault & said I had no proof they did it. Have photos of damage. Only logical way it could have been damaged.

AVOID THIS SELLER I WANTED TO BUY TO MORE TYRES FROM THEM AND PAY TO SEND 2 BACK BUT THEY WANTED TO KEEP 10% AND THE FREIGHT COST WHICK IS AGAINST EBAY RULES, THEN WILL NOT REPLY TO ANY MESSAGES FROM ME ABOUT THIS MATTER, VERY BAD CUSTOMER SERVICE AND HAVE NOW LOST ANY MORE SALES TO ME AFTER BUYING MANY SETS OF TYRES FROM THEM, THEY COULD OF COMMUNICATED WITH ME TO RESOLVE THIS MATTER BUT THEY JUST IGNORE AFTER THEY HAVE YOUR MONEY, DONT BUY ANYTHING FROM HERE.

I had a punctured tyre. The sales pursuaded me to changed the tyres. I ended up puchasing all 4 tyres, along with wheel alignment at extra cost.

After driving for a week, I noticed that the car swerve to left when my hand is not on the wheel, tried that on flat surface. I took a few days to convinced myself that it's a poor job done.

I rang them up, they told me to bring the car back. However, they are reluctant to fix it saying that "the manager did a test drive and the issue is minor. I took the car back with the same issue.

Previously, I took the car to Bob Jane TMart, after alignment, the car is straight.

Apart from that, the long wait of 4 hours on a Sunday morning doesn't make it worth the time and money.

Arrived at 8:10 am today, took a ticket with a number and waited until it was called at 9:10. After being called over, the person serving indicated it would be two and a half hours wait. Fair enough, I agreed based on this estimate. Told an SMS would be sent when it's ready.

Hung around the area and waited. Hours went by, and by 12:00, I called concerned about the wait as three hours had now passed. They indicated wait for sms.

Continued to wait until 1pm, which by that point was 4 hours of waiting. My family member who needs a lift from me for dialysis called concerned as they needed to get there at 1:30, and we had now been waiting extremely longer than initially advised. They said ok 10 more minutes, ready when you get here.

Arrived and told, "Not sure", the reception queried the wait with the relevant team member who came and said he needed another 10. After waiting a further 15 minutes in the foyer, the SMS finally came through at 1:18pm. The only reasoning for the 4 and almost half hour wait was "sorry we're extremely busy." I arrived 10 minutes after they opened, and finally left 2 hours before they closed. Not reasonable as I also knew which tyre I wanted.

When I got to the car, it wasn't even parked properly. Left in drive gear and the condition of the rims were horrible and not like the condition I had given it to them at all (pictured). The rims haven't even been inserted properly they're hanging half out in the photo where you can see the clip. The tyre change added over 300 km to the odometer, which has never happened at Tempe Tyre's Penrith (will avoid tempe Tyre's altogether now).

If you're willing to be misled and spend your entire Saturday waiting, then go ahead. Otherwise, don't bother. They don't provide accurate estimations at all. Also, if you book a collection through the website and select a time it makes no difference. You are still made to wait. AVOID!

Took my car in to get tyres fitted. The young man Sebastian D was very helpful and nice. I also had customer service from a man called Yose his customer service was impeccable. Thankyou for the great service would highly recommend to all.

Bought Kumho tyres from the Clyde branch. One of the tyre's sidewall burst within 6 weeks and they just fobbed me off. Reason why they are cheaper is they bring in inferior quality parallel imports. Avoid this mob and go to reputable stores.
