I ordered a subscription box as a Christmas present to be delivered in the first week of January. No delivery appeared until I contacted customer services; delivery finally appeared in the third week of January. This month’s delivery has not yet arrived though customer services tell me it is being prepared. 3stars because customer services have replied promptly and the book box was good quality when it finally arrived.

I have gifted a few of the teatime bookshop subscriptions now and not only do my loved ones love the boxes themselves and the books, but I've also received fantastic and quick customer service when I have needed it (for instance delaying delivery of a few boxes in the monthly subscription). A really well put together gift subscription, and the books have all been winners.

The company is very inflexible and the books are not bestsellers. Will not renew.

I love the idea that someone else is choosing something for me based on my likings and preferences and the little extras ( coffee sachets ,hot chocolate or tea bags and delightful bookmarks ) really makes it feel like a warm hug arriving in the post each month .

The subscription model is way too sticky - the term is too long so if you don't realise you have subscribed , which I didn't , you cannot cancel immediately. I spend way more money than I planned to. Never again

Book choices seem good but delivery on time ie. 15th of month has been missed twice. Coffee choice poor on third delivery.

The subscription was for non fiction crime , we got a Jeromony Vine non fiction. Took out same for Daughter in law and she got a book on how to be a good wife.
Will not renewing

I really wanted to like this product, however it has not been the most enjoyable experience dealing with this company. I subscribed to the bestseller box for 6 months. My first package came with no issues, so far so good. Unfortunately, the next package became the source of many frustrations. My expected fulfilment date was the 10th of January. The 10th comes round and no package, I assumed perhaps they meant that was the dispatch date, not fulfilment, disappointing but delivered products should be given a margin of error. After 11 days, I contacted customer services asking for a package update. They told me the package had been dispatched and was on its way, and that it should be with me in the next few days. A week later I get an email from Yodel saying they have only just received the package and are now delivering it. It was delivered on the 30th. My parcel was one day short off three weeks late, and even worse customer service had lied, claiming my package was already out for delivery. Overall, very frustrated, there are many better ways than lying to your customers about a parcels status. 19 days between the *fulfilment* date and the yodel email is silly, and now only have 10 days before the next book os scheduled to come, completely removing the point of staggering book delivery dates, unless this one is hideously late too.

Delivery: very poor

If you live remotely near a bookshop, or pass one commuting etc, just get yourself a book there every month, its instant, you know where it is and there is no poor customer service to worry about.

Uh sorry, but this month's book was really not my taste at all. Would've never picked that book myself. Ever. Normally I'm quite fond of the monthy picks but this month was not well-selected. At least for my taste...

I subscribed for 6 months for my mom’s birthday present as she is an avid reader. I chose 2nd hand and the Surprise Me subscription and we have both been so impressed. The books look like new when they arrive and she has had some really varied titles but all good.

She asked for me to renew it for Christmas and has again asked to renew it for her birthday!

She has decided to change to Rom Com for the next 6 months, just personal preference but was deciding whether to change to Thriller so that may be next!

She always looks forward to her book arriving along with teabags, biscuits and a bookmark, it’s a lovely treat every month.

Well worth the money and a gift that keeps giving!

Takes ages to get a reply. The book was not really thriller/crime genre so my husband was not interested. The drink and biscuit selection was not as the advertised, instead sent cheap versions.

Excellent different present that keeps on giving

My daughter has received all Books, hot chocolate and a treat every month. The books are in good condition and well chosen, ( we get the assorted package).

Once I realised that I would have to give them early notice if I wished to stop the order or else it rolls into following year ,which it did, they soon replied to my concern as I thought they taking the Micky and just taking my money. ( it is explained in their web site, I overlooked it). The money was returned to me and a year later I re-subscribed as daughter missed the books.

Deliveries were prompt and efficient. I had a query that needed resolving and Laurence in customer service dealt with it quickly and professionally. The wife loves the books, and it's a great and affordable gift. Keep up the good work!

I think it’s a great idea but I’ve tried to contact the company several times with a couple of questions after I had ordered. It was ages until I got an initial response and then my query was still not answered.
My husband has had the delivery and is happy enough.
Would just like a response.

First subscription received, no duties or tax to pay, being in France thats always a worry on deliveries from UK. Lovely hard back book, nice postcard, bookmark. Coffee x2 and biscuits. Nicely packaged. Very very pleased. First cuppa made and 65 pages in.....roll on next months.....

I've used teatime bookshop a lot for myself and for gifts, They are good value and a nice wee surprise. Never had an issue with them
