I would not recommend this experience to anyone. This review is for the Chicago location of Tea Around Town, and it was extremely disappointing from start to finish.

Granted, this was actually our second attempt at going on a trip with them. Our original booking was canceled via text message just five minutes before our scheduled departure time, which should have been a major red flag.

For this trip, we arrived around 10:15 AM for our scheduled 10:30 AM bus ride, and our bus did not show up until 12:45 PM. Meanwhile, the 12:00 PM bus—which was also about 30 minutes late—ended up arriving before ours. There was no clear communication, no updates, and no organization while we stood there waiting.

When we finally got on the bus, it didn’t even complete the advertised scenic tour. Instead of a relaxing experience, the “tour” turned into watching crowds of people getting drunk during Chicago’s St. Patrick’s Day celebrations. It felt completely unplanned and nothing like what was advertised.

The entire experience wrapped up around 2:00–2:30 PM, and we ended up walking back to our original starting location, getting there around 2:45 PM. After hours of delays and a completely underwhelming experience, it just wasn’t worth it.

Overall, this was a poorly managed, frustrating experience with no accountability. Save your time and money—this is not worth it.

Not worth your money
We planned to "Tea Around Town ATL" for my cousin 60th Belated Bday celebration. It was a horrible 60th Belated Bday experience.
1) The “Tea around town ATL” was only 1 hour and not the 1.5 hour as advertise. We left for the “Tea around town ATL” at 12:15p and returned at 1:17P
2) NO silverware & napkin at our table. It took over 30 minutes before the server brought us silverware to our table.
3) Ran out of bathroom tissue & NO water to wash hands. With no silverware to eat our finger foods, we tasted the hand sanitizer when we ate.
4) NO souvenir glass available.
5) Several of us requested serval times to turn off the air & it didn’t turn off until 10 minutes before the tour ended.
6) NO guided tour. Since the mic didn’t work to give announcements of landmarks places along the tour route, the volume of the music was extremely loud, so I had to put in my earplugs.
7) The floor was extremely dirty; a little soap and water would go a long way.
8) As a Safety Engineer, the one-inch lip next to the incline on the 2nd floor of the bus is a trip hazard waiting to happen.

Absolutely unacceptable experience with Tea Around Town Philadelphia. We booked a tour for a group of four, traveled 2½ hours each way, paid for tolls, gas, and parking, only to have the tour canceled 15 minutes before boarding. No prior notice, no apology, and zero effort to make things right.
Customer service? Rude, dismissive, and completely unhelpful. Their policy demands guests reschedule 14 days in advance with a fee, yet they canceled at the last minute and refused to take responsibility. I made multiple calls and sent several emails, and a week later, still no refund. I finally had to dispute the charge with my credit card company because they clearly do not care about their customers.
This company is unprofessional, unreliable, and dishonest. They wasted our time at great expense. If you’re considering booking with Tea Around Town be aware. Their offices are in New York for all Tea Around Town tours. If this is not usual they should of worked to keep my business and make it right. Yet no word from them from the initial day, email was received after tour canceled asking if I wanted a refund or to reschedule. Poorly handled Tea around town!
