I was kept informed by Sophie in particular throughout my sale and purchase.

You hear horror stories about solicitors for conveyancing but I cannot fault Taylor Emmet. Excellent communication throughout & regular updates.

Get told to send them an email and more than 2 weeks later still don’t get a reply from them. Potentially losing out on an house sale because of the bad communication. Ongoing matter going on since September

We used Taylor and Emmet for the purchase of our new home. We could not be happier with how Julie Lomas dealt with our purchase. She was thorough, professional, understanding and dealt with our needs perfectly! She was always a phone call away if we needed anything explaining and was always so happy to help. During 2025 i used Taylor Emmet for the conveyancing of my house sale and also next purchase.A perfect experience all the way through with strong advice and prompt responses to any questions and a calm ear when the whole experience became stressful.
Today i was required to provide documentation for my income tax return and asked Taylor Emmet for assistance…they provided everything i needed within the hour. After over 1 year such a wonderful aftercare!

Waste of time, don’t bother using this solicitors.

Locum solicitor covering maternity leave assigned to my buyers sale, who has been ignoring phone calls and emails and delayed this case for several weeks. He has been out of office for two weeks further delaying the case, but never made my solicitor aware of this.

We have been waiting nearly 3 weeks for enquiries to be reviewed and completed to agree exchange and completion date. Solicitor has been promising to have this completed by x date, and doesn’t.

Will be pulling out of my sale and purchase on Friday due to the incompetence of these solicitors. Solicitor has been made aware but still no concern on their end. Don’t bother using them

We recently completed a property purchase in Leeds with Taylor Emmet acting as our solicitors, and I can give a full recommendation.

Rachel, Elizabeth and Mariam handled our case with professionalism and persistence throughout even our transaction was complex (as the funding was arranged from overseas, which required additional coordination and documentation).

Everything was managed calmly, efficiently and without unnecessary complication.

Communication was clear and timely, deadlines were monitored carefully, and we always felt that the matter was under control. The team was particularly strong in handling the practical aspects of cross-border funding and compliance requirements.

The purchase completed smoothly, and we are very grateful for their support. I would not hesitate to instruct Taylor Emmet again.

I had a lovely solicitor Bailey, verifying my documents for me, I had abit of hectic morning and some confusion with documents, however Bailey was supportive, knowledgeable and approachable and made the whole experience allot smoother. A great first impression for the firm. All staff were lovely, including the two lovely people on reception.

Having recently encountered this solicitor for a house purchase, I found them to be obstructive throughout the process. The solicitor dealt with was painfully slow and when challenged, their response was curt, to the point of rudeness. I would not recommend and for anyone selling their home, where the buyer engages these, good luck! Expect query after query, then more queries, then insistance on unnecessary indemnity policies (which our solicitor pushed back on as they believed them unneccessary, but they were just rude and obstructive and we were bullied into having to get them) AVOID.

Taylor and Emmet, and especially Sarah Gaunt, gave us excellent service. They patiently helped us to negotiate the complexities of buying a house , losing an house and then buying again. They were extremely quick to respond. Never held us up despite the purchase going over the Christmas holidays. We can’t speak highly enough of the very professional and kind support they gave us.

If I could give more than 5 stars I would!...Sarah Gaunt and her team...in particular Bronya Blake were absolutely fantastic!!. Bronya was always easy to contact and always responded to queries promptly. Her communication skills and knowledge of the conveyancing process was excellent...and I actually dont know what we would have done without her support on day of completion. Will always use Taylor Emmet and will highly recommend going forward..thank you!!

Still waiting four years on for them to pay out from our late relatives estate. Promises to pay have come and gone with nothing happening. The latest promise at the beginning of january has provided nothing.

Nathan and all the conveyancing team at Taylor Emmet (Dronfield) ensured that the property sale went ahead as smoothly as possible.
They were always professional and readily accessible for advice throughout the process.

I received a professional and friendly service in my recent clinical negligence case by Morgan Shimwell. I was always kept up to date on progress and responses were prompt. Morgan navigated me through the more complex jargon, ensuring he explained in layman’s terms where necessary and eventually bringing the case to a successful close. If you ever need a clinical negligence lawyer then I’d highly recommend Morgan.

Very disappointing experience. This was a family court matter where I received very limited advice, followed by unexpected charges for duplicated work that I had neither requested nor authorised. When I raised concerns, there was no willingness to listen or engage, only a blunt instruction to complain in writing.

At an already highly stressful time, this lack of care and transparency made things significantly worse. I ultimately paid the balance simply to move on. I have since instructed another firm who have provided proper, comprehensive support across all aspects of the case, which has only highlighted how poor this service was.

I would urge potential clients to be extremely cautious about costs and expectations.
