Their online pages are not user friendly. I make a payment on the 24th of the month and can NOT see the transaction amounts until the following month! Ludicrous. I would like to see the actual figures posted to principal and interest as soon as it has been taken and posted. I track everything i spend and accrue. However, it is not easy to track Service Finance Co. To me, there seems no reason for this except having a lousy system and not caring about the customer.

What an amazing and helpful person Marchanis was as a representative of Service Finance. She was level headed and able to communicate with me easily. She answered all of my questions and even gave me helpful financial suggestions.

James was very quick and efficient, professional, courteous, humorous. He settled my account issue very easliy. I give James 6 Stars out of 5!

I am writing this review due to a simple misunderstanding that led to my account being 30 days late. After speaking with a very rude customer service agent, I assured them I would pay the past due amount plus fees, even though I feel they are partially to blame because their invoices consistently arrive in the mail after the billing due date. I have requested that they email my statement, but apparently, that's something they are unable to do. After bringing the account up-to-date, they spitefully reported a 30-day late payment to the credit bureau, which severely affected my credit score. On three separate occasions, I have politely tried to explain what happened and asked to speak to a supervisor. I was even promised a callback from one, but no one ever returned my call. I would recommend avoiding this company as they lack ethics, provide poor customer service, and they seem to purposefully send their invoices late.

After calling several times yesterday,and I was not at all happy with the service I got, today I called and ask to speak with the supervisor, I was able to speak with Dean S. he was outstanding, he answered all my questions and helped me in getting the web site up and running I could not have ask for any better, he was super.

Marchanis Blanc assisted me today and provided me very valuable information regarding my monthly payments which no one has done before. Due to her patience and expertise, my credit rating will now increase substantially.

On Jun 13th 2024 I tried to call several times to Service Finance due a warranty problem with the contractor, was calling until at 3pm when was answered by a person who identified herself as Raquel to receive my claimed, after 5 minutes talking suddenly the call was dropped, I call back and then after being transfer for by the system again the call was taken and dropped off again, this happened several times, I waited for being calling back which never occurred; thus now with frustration my problem still here and on...

I established a $13K loan with Service Finance on 12/2023. I tried to pay the loan off in April, but they added $62 of interest before I paid it off. I thought the account had been set up for autopay, and the balance would be deducted the following month. I paid the $62 dollars after I saw a 30-day late payment on my credit report. My credit rating dropped 75 points for a loan paid off years early.

Miscommunication at every step. Worst customer service representatives. Terrible business practices. Would rather have a loan/deal with the devil than to work with SVC in the future.

Miscommunication - failed to let me know of my loan mark up being declined and forcing the contractor to add another loan/payment through a different finance company. Half of the blame is on my contractors as they failed to obtain the correct information in the first place.
Customer Service - everyone uses the same templates to respond to consumers, nothing personalized, or actually resolved. I have learned that the multifaceted complaint I made was simplified into one issue. Then when I received the templated response back, I called and complained again about my issues to realize the top manager did not know o the issue. This just ties back into the miscommunication and how it relates between their own departments.
Business Practices - Was initially told different terms than what was on my signed contract. I feel duped. Maybe I am ignorant, or stupid, but I left the original meeting with contractors with a set term in my head, and that was different than what I had apparently signed for and agreed to.
In addition, they also sent me a letter, dated 5/19, that was received on 5/31, a whole 11-12 days later, saying that my bill was due on 6/3, 3 days away.

After many, and I mean many, calls to their company to have this resolved, they said they could literally do nothing. The only thing they could do was assure me that I could have a late fee waived, but I was still on the same schedule. Which would force me to make 2 payments in 14 days, or always be behind. And for someone who has a 100% on time history on their credit report, this is not an ideal solution.

I have been forced to write an email to the president of this company, and to his credit, he did respond within moments, with a VP on his team.
If they can't do anything, I literally do not know what I will do, but suffer the consequences of their poor business tactics.

If something is done, I will gladly change the review. Until then, this is my current and honest opinion of the company. Id rather deal with the devil than SFC.

Does anyone in this company have E-mail. Every time I send something to the info@ nothing gets done. I've gone back and forth since March. I DON'T HAVE A LOAN WITH SERVICE FINANCE. QUIT THREATENING ME!

I called yesterday about setting up reoccurring payments and was told they would have to send me a form through email to fill out, but the site did not work.
Today I called as spoke with Tamai and she said that I could do it online and walked me through it. She was so very helpful, professional, knowledgeable and nice. Tamai is an asset to SF company. Thanks

Jay was absolutely amazing! His quick fix unlocked my account and he provided additional information as a professional courtesy! I appreciated his patience and understanding of my issues. Definitely recommend he handle all my Service Finance calls!

Very disappointed in service finance today. I had a well qualified customer today that was declined. This customer is in the Air Force. He lives on base housing. His debt to income ratio is small and his credit score is above 700. The really sad thing is, he is trying to purchase a high quality water softener for his family. He has 4 little girls, ages newborn to 6 years old. I have used this bank for dozens and dozens of loans, but today they were a huge anti-American letdown.

Pretty much a bait and switch operation. They promise deferred interest for first 18 months, then that they will re-amortize loan payments after the 18 months to lower payment if you pay ahead. This was all a Lie, paid a good chunk off during the 18 months to have a lower payment after re-amortization but Service Finance Co. refused to re-amortize the loan.

I've been paying extra on this loan for quite some time now. Full year.

The initial loan was for $20,000. And the interest rate was 12.99% per annum.

So far, I have made 12 payments, totaling $5,147.05.

$2092.49 has come off of the loan.

That leaves a balance of $17,971.07. ( And amortization calculator shows that it should have been $17,293.58. A difference of $677.49--on a $20,000 loan. And that's just in the first year)

That means that in the first 12 months, $3056.49 was interest.

That does not make any sense, because I have paid more than the minimum almost every single month. Sometimes I've made double payments.

It is also an effective interest rate of 15.28%.

Something is not right here.

12.99% should have been $2,598 of interest in that year.

In addition, extremely poor communication. Nobody is ever available to answer the phone, and the phone number they have listed on the website does not work.

I actually have to call the state of Michigan department of Finance and insurance and they had the correct number for the company.

They knew right away that the number of that website was wrong because they get so many calls about this ghetto company.

To say this company is sneaky and lacks compassion is an understatement. Do not fall for their 0% interests promos unless you’re perfect. The promo will end between your payment dates and without warning. Legal, maybe. Shady and unethical? I think so. My calendar notification didn’t transfer over and I missed the promo end date by less than a month and called as soon as I realized it. Stuff happens, but this is a matter of thousands of dollars for missing it within just days, so I tried to call and reason with them for at lest a little bit of a break. Not only do they not give you a break (I understand fine print, so this I could begrudgingly understand), but when I expressed my frustration at being a perfect payer and them having it expire between payments, I got a sassy, “well that’s not been my experience with other customers at all…” Admittedly, I was not a gem to speak with after that either. Long story short, don’t use this company if you think there’s any chance of error on your part. And don’t expect any sort of alert via email or an alert when you pay your last bill before the promo ends. Again, I realize mistakes were made on my part, but I’ve never missed a payment on any of my loans or cards and I still missed the end of this promo offer. Just warning you to stay away or you will find yourself up a creek with no paddle if you miss your promo expiration date by even a day.
