quick and easy exchange
We ordered by accident the wrong colour of the reclining chair cushions and without delay and any fuss, Emma from Sustainable Furniture organised that the right colour was sent and the cushions with the wrong colour picked up. Wonderful experience.
Plus, the cushions are great, exactly what we wanted!

The Manga 2 seater sofa looked perfect…
The Manga 2 seater sofa looked perfect for my conservatory so I placed an order. I contacted the company to explain that I would need a 2 person delivery team as I could not assist due to a leg injury. This was taken care of by Emma. The delivery went smoothly and the delivery guys were very polite and careful. I am delighted with the sofa, it has exceeded my expectations in terms of quality and style!

Great product and service
The product arrived quickly and is of a high quality and was packed very well. Great customer service for a minor warehouse issue I had. They where very responsive and polite to deal with. Love the teak garden furniture, really looks good and is solidly made. Would highly recommend.

I successfully bid for a display table…
I successfully bid for a display table on eBay which they accepted. And paid for. And demolished my brick and oak table. Now they tell me they sold it to someone else.
They probably got a better price
They should have offered a non display version if this was an honest mistake.
It was my bd party this weekend and they were aware of this as I had communicated w Emma about this

We are very sorry that your order through eBay did not go as planned, this is a separate business from Sustainable Furniture Ltd.
The table you purchased was priced at £500 due to the defects and nature of the sale through our 'seconds' eBay page.
If you would like to purchase a brand new table we can supply this to you through our website, but you would need to pay full price for this (£1550) as it is brand new stock and not seconds.
We don't supply 'ex-display' items as we are a business solely based online without a showroom, the items sold through eBay are 'seconds' stock and are not brand new they are partially damaged, returns or new stock that has been damaged within the warehouse and can't be sold as new through our Sustainable Furniture Ltd website.
We are a small team based in Cornwall, so we have open days for our seconds stock where local customers can come and collect from our warehouse. It appears this is what has happened with the table you bid on, I wasn't aware it had been sold previously and removed from our warehouse.
We did not receive a better price for the table by any means, it simply wasn't here to sell on eBay and should have been removed, I am sincerely sorry that we did not pick up on this sooner.
Regrettably, as discussed in my message we did not have a similar alternative to offer you so we had no choice but to cancel your order and process a full refund.
I am sorry for the inconvenience this has caused.

A lovely well designed table
A gorgeous table and so good it’s from carefully managed sustainable sources.
It’s well designed and a really generous size.
Very well priced for the size and exceptional quality.
It feels so smooth and I know I can safely leave it out all year.
I’ve used this company before and their customer service is first rate.
They kept me informed of the delivery which came in the time slot given and by polite delivery men.
No wonder they are used by The National Trust.

Amazing items
We brought a amazing table and chair set and had a small problem with a chair almost a year down the line, I spoke to them about the problem and they were amazing at dealing with the issue and was resolved very quickly. And the items we have received from them are incredible

Great service, great quality, great communications
Claire at Sustainable Furniture was able to send me photographs of their unique stock, allowing me to choose the Java Root base for my table. They coordinated delivery to suit my circumstances and when the shipping company had an issue (major traffic incident outwith their control), delivery was rescheduled and the delivery guy couldn't have been more helpful. Although subcontracted, it was subcontracted to a good company. When asked for advice, the communication from Sustainable Furniture was prompt and useful. My new table is amazing and looks fabulous.

Quality Products
I purchased some items from this company, although there was a long wait for delivery the items were worth it.
We had a few problems along the way but Sustainable Furniture were quick to sort things out. I would highly recommended this company.

Cheap fixings
Our outdoor table was delivered efficiently. However, the brackets and fixings are of such poor quality that I do not think the table will last more than a few years at most and it isn't sturdy. Good quality galvanised or stainless fittings would have all the difference.

Bought a set of teak table and chairs
Bought a set of teak table and chairs. Table was just as expected. Chairs arrived mouldy. Replacement chairs showed signs of mould being cleaned a bit but not properly treated and smelled of mould. Explanation given was that the chairs were in a shipping container on the ocean for a long period. Very disappointed with the explanation and the expectation that I had to bring the chairs back to an acceptable standard.

Thank you for taking the time to provide us with your feedback and our apologises that you feel disappointed with your experience. We are a small, family run business based in Cornwall and we pride ourselves on our customer service; it was not our intention to leave you feeling unhappy at all.
As soon as you brought the issue to our attention, we promptly advised that it won’t affect the structural integrity of the items in anyway as the bloom is just topical, caused by being in a container on the water for over 2 months and that the light covering will simply wipe away. We also offered to exchange the furniture for you and organised for this to go ahead as quickly as we could to avoid any hassle.
We advised that due to the finishing process, the chairs will include a slightly different finish and this is completely normal. The items are machine made and hand finished. Due to the chairs being much more intricate in design than the table, they must finish these by hand and not by a sanding machine as shown on the tabletop.
Furthermore, the set that you purchased from us was a value set, and whilst the table is made from grade A teak, the chairs are grade C as shown in the description on the website. This is another reason that you will see a difference in the overall finish of the products. We would have been more than happy to upgrade your chairs to the grade A equivalent providing you were prepared to pay the outstanding balance.
To compensate you further, we supplied a free bottle of our sealer and refunded you £40 for your troubles.
We hope that you understand our explanation and appreciate that we did everything we could to rectify the issue as quickly as possible and also to compensate you for the inconvenience. Please let me know if we can assist you with anything else at all.

Lack of quality control
When the six teak chairs were delivered it was clear one was broken and the strapping on the pallet seemed very tight. Opening the rest of the pallet it turned out three chairs were broken, and the rest were covered in mould. I reported the issue to customer services. They confirmed the chairs had not been unwrapped and checked since they left Indonesia and they tried to put the blame on the delivery company for the broken chairs. I wasn’t impressed although they did replace them very quickly. One of the replacement chairs was a bit mouldy

We are sorry that you are disappointed with your furniture. This is not the standard that we pride ourselves on and we are sorry that you have been left feeling disappointed; this is not our intention at all.
It is very frustrating that your order arrived in poor condition. Whilst we of course have quality checks in place, it seems that your order was missed on this occasion, and we are sorry for this. We would love to be able to check every single order however, during periods of high volumes, this is simply not feasible. Although your order was not unwrapped and checked for mould, the damage to the chair legs were clearly visible without unwrapping and therefore would never have left us in this condition. We are slowly introducing our own fleet of vehicles but due to location and high volumes we cannot solely use them. We would love to deliver everything by our own transport to reduce delivery issues, but it is not possible yet. We hope in the future we will get to the point where we do not need to use couriers at all, it is work in progress and we are always looking to improve our services. We completely understand the disappointment and frustration caused as we are all feeling exactly the same about the situation.
We pride ourselves in impeccable customer service, we are a very small family run business in Cornwall with only 10 staff members in its entirety. We are truly a company that cares and try our best to go above and beyond albeit this isn’t always possible, obstacles do arise and complicate matters, but we try to offer alternative solutions where possible.
We were of course on hand to get this resolved for you and after receiving your email regarding the issues, we exchanged the furniture for you within 48 hours. We did our best to rectify the issue immediately and as requested. Alternatively, we could have collected the furniture and offered a full refund.
It is a shame that you would not recommend us, as we did our best to rectify the issues experienced and dealt with any issues immediately and as requested. This is not the standard that we pride ourselves on and we are sorry that you are disappointed.

Excellent Customer Service
Ordered a patio table from Sustainable Furniture which was shipped immediately and was with us within two days.
There were a couple of small issues with the product which were sorted out immediately by Emma very much to our satisfaction. That is all you can ask of a company. Would thoroughly recommend sustainable-furniture.co.uk, it's refreshing to get great customer service when so many big online companies can't be bothered with it.

Teak planters not fit for purpose.
We bought a teak planter which looked lovely in the photos but had huge gaps between the slats on all sides and base (not visible in website photos). I didn't see it till it was assembled, so too late to return. The company said the gaps were for drainage, but you don't need drainage on the sides, and a small gap would be fine on the base.We're now stuck with an expensive pot that's almost unusable except with a liner (if we can find one to fit, which seems unlikely) and will make it look even worse than it does now. There are a few other companies offering relatively cheap planters, though maybe a bit rougher in finish, so I recommend either going for these or one of the harder softwoods.

We are sorry that you have been left feeling disappointed with your order experience. This is not our intention at all and is certainly not the service that we like to offer.
The description on our website states ‘Please Note - The planters do not include lining, the planters are manufactured with a gap to allow for drainage, if you are planting into the soil you will need to add lining to prevent the soil from filtering through the gaps and to protect your planter. A liner can be made simply from a refuse bag or purchased from your local garden centre.’ I’m very sorry if you missed this piece of information prior to purchasing the product.
We do offer a free 14 days returns policy for situations such as this; however, for us to honour that, we need the item to be returned to us flat-packed, as it was delivered. The reason that we ask that our items are returned in this way is due to us being a sustainable company; the item would get damaged if returned to us assembled and this would not be a viable practice. Unfortunately, as you hadn’t noticed the gaps before assembling, and you weren’t willing to disassemble the item, regrettably, we could not honour this for you on this occasion.
We really hope that you understand our response. We did our best to promptly offer solutions to the problem and we would have been more than happy to issue a full refund providing the item was returned to us flat-packed. Our apologies again for the disappointment you have experienced and we’re of course happy to help if you need anything further.

1st Class Excellent Service from the 1st point of contact to the delivery of the items
From our initial contact with Emma with a few queries on the Teak furniture we were wanting to the final ordering of the items with Claire the whole experience has been outstanding. The Teak chairs delivered to us were exactly as they had promised, High quality Grade A Teak unbelievably heavy in solid Teak and of extremely high quality for a wooden product hand made in Indonesia.
The items were ordered on Tuesday 3rd Jan 2023 and all 12 chairs delivered from down on the south coast up North to us 3 days later on Fri 6th - OUTSTANDING service - we were kept informed of the whole service by email from point of order - advised of a delivery date - phoned to confirm delivery date and then phoned again on the morning of delivery.
If all companies performed like this then life would be a dream ! We would not hesitate to recommend this Furniture and the Company to anyone ! 1st class service many thanks Dr Rob & Family
