Nightmare onboarding, inaccurate pricing, and broken POS. Avoid Storepass!
I recently tried onboarding my card shop onto Storepass, and it has been an absolute disaster from start to finish. They promise "zero-downtime migration" and seamless automation, but the reality is a completely broken system that has cost me time, money, and endless frustration. Here are the main reasons you should stay far away from this software:Completely Inaccurate Pricing: Storepass claims to use TCGPlayer market data to keep up with volatile prices, but their Price Automation system is highly unreliable. The margins and automated rules applied completely incorrect values to my inventory. Cards were either vastly underpriced—risking massive losses—or heavily overpriced compared to the actual market. The "Price Approval Safety System" failed to catch blatant errors, forcing me to manually audit thousands of listings anyway.Broken POS System: Their proprietary Storepass POS is advertised as lightning-fast and capable of tracking multi-location inventory and split-tender transactions. In reality, it constantly froze and glitched. Connecting it to our Shopify store credit and processing in-person trade-ins was a sluggish nightmare. It disrupted our daily register workflows and caused massive bottlenecks at checkout.Non-Existent Customer Support: Unless you are paying for their hyper-expensive Pro or Enterprise tiers ($1,999 to $4,999/mo) to get live chat or a 24/7 hotline, you are completely abandoned. On the lower tiers, they promise ticket, email, or Zoom support, but my urgent requests went completely ignored for days. For a system managing live retail inventory, waiting days for a basic email reply while your POS is broken is completely unacceptable.Summary: Do not fall for the flashy marketing or the names of big stores they claim to host. The onboarding process is painful, the data cannot be trusted, and the system is not stable enough to run a real retail business. I am cancelling my subscription and moving elsewhere.
