12 foot section of handrail was not well packed and was slightly damaged by freight shipping. Perhaps a shipper issue, but annoying when paying a premium for freight shipping.

More concerning: The newel posts that I purchased primed did not appear to have been fully sanded. There were saw marks and sharp edges. There were also cuts that needed to be filled before painting.

The balusters that I paid to have painted had drips and do not appear to have been fully painted before sanding.

We had a need to secure a newel post at the top of our stairs, which had become wobbly over time. Pulling everything apart to get at the the floor joists, etc. was out of the question. The folks at Stair Warehouse sell a kit that is designed to fix this kind of problem without tearing everything out. The kit arrived (as advertised) in speedy fashion, was designed with post-install appearances in mind, had quality components, and was easy to install. Best of all, it killed the "wobbles" in our upstairs banister. Just what the doctor ordered!

The paper template is not accurate enough to get perfect alignment with the hand rail.
The sketch of the the nut access hole does not show the depth necessary to clear the nut.
A plastic template should be grsigned and sold as an accessory to make it easy to drill the holes perpendicular to the surface of the part. These fixtures could be manufactured with 3D printing. These 3D fixtures should be available for each size of handrail parts.

Great product and great service

Ordered material for a DIY banister project and everything was shipped quickly and without issue. The quality of the wood products was top notch and the metal rails were also great quality. I do wish that the top caps of the wood banisters were not already glued on as that would have made for a much easier installation without needing to drill additional access holes, but I made do.

The product worked great for my stairs, I did have one of the covers that both the set screws were stripped out.

Was good dealing with Stair Warehouse. Prices are reasonable and they were willing to work with my schedule. I was grateful they were willing to allow me to return some items, as I ordered wrong. (yes, with a restocking fee)

My husband and I needed to build a bannister for 5 stairs in our house. I first checked the big box stores but we were disappointed in the quality of the materials. So I happened to find Stair Warehouse online. I ordered a solid hardwood Newel post initially which arrived very well packaged and in perfect shape. I then placed another order for balusters and assorted hardware including zipclips. The second order also arrived in excellent condition. One of the balusters was missing, but they sent me another within 2 days.
The one item I purchased from a big box store was a 6 ft red oak rail which I assumed was solid wood. However it was a time consuming disaster when I attempted to stain it since it was not solid wood, but made of bits and pieces that would not take a stain. We so wish we had bought a solid wood rail from Stair Warehouse since our solid newel post stained easily and beautifully.
It is expensive to shop here, mostly because of shipping costs, but it is worth it. They sell really good products and have good customer service where you can actually talk to people.
I am also very glad for all the information, photos, and videos provided by their website. We had never tackled a project this difficult before, but it came out amazing and our family is quite impressed. We are very happy we used Stair Warehouse.

Stair warehouse shipped our products almost immediately. They arrived packaged extremely well. No damage. We had ordered a little over 50 balusters and all of them come individually wrapped. It was a great experience.
