I can’t say for sure whether Speechelo is a great product, because I didn’t stick around long enough to really find out. The issue isn’t the software itself, but the way it’s marketed.

Right after purchasing, the first thing you see is a message telling you that what you bought is actually a very limited version — and that to get the “real” experience, you need to pay around four times more. This is then followed by repeated upsell attempts and spam pushing essentially the same message.

For me, that kind of marketing feels dishonest and off-putting. Even if the product itself has potential, I prefer transparent companies that stand behind what they initially sell, instead of immediately pressuring customers to upgrade.

All of a sudden the whole platform disappeared, I was unable to access, lost all my work and had to pay another platform to redo everything. I talk more than 2 months of work gone.
I asked for a refund and apparently "we dont do refunds past 60 days", as if it was my fault their platform decided to mess with my work so late. Not even an apology, a partial refund, nothing. Absolutely shameful scammers.

Also, Florian from support was so professional to tell me he "didnt understand what the big deal was" when i complained

I bought basic voice-over on Speechelo.com for $56. However, I did not like the voices and requested a refund. I sent a message to their e-mail address. They said that a refund would be made to my bank card within 3-5 days. However, no refund was made. 6 days passed and tomorrow is the 7th day. They do not refund, I will complain to the authorities in Romania.

Don't upgrade to Speechelo PRO! If you don't need the PRO features anymore, they make it really hard to quit the subscription or get a refund. Speechelo support doesn't anwer at all and you will have to take action through Paddle (over which one pays). Not documented transparently anywhere. This is bad.

I keep getting charged without having a subscription. No responses to emails. I will need to change my credit card because of this. Stay away!

Looks like I am not the only one getting weird susbcriptions, unable to cancel, no support feedback etc.

I experienced an initial problem with this product. When I asked for a refund they upgraded me to the next level. I was also unhappy with the voices but once upgraded, I can see there are some great voices. I also had another issue with all the voices not being visible. After creating a ticked their tech support guided me through the process to find it was a Chrome extension that was blocking part of the site. I can honestly recommend this product and the customer service experiences were excellent.

They keep charging me randomly and every time I ask for a refund they give me some run around and say that the "refund has been processed" but it never gets processed

I purchased speechelo and been using for 2 months now that they saw what voices I often use they remove it from the package I bought and make it available in pro account that you need to pay monthly, at first they said when we purchase we can use those voice forever and now they remove it and try to twist the purchasers neck to force us to buy and get the quarterly package just to get to use the voices that we need do not purchase just get something that you can do cloning and use much better voices

It's a scam. They lure you to believe that it's a one time payment for pro, only to charge you monthly for a product no better than their basic solution. Absolutely not acceptable business practice.

Unauthorized transactions, same sum several times. No transparency in fees explanation. Extremely poor customer support! They charge and no one is able to clearly explain why, they say "it was a mistake"! One sum was refunded, and the hext day it was charged again! I happened to be at the hospital when I noticed this credit card abuse from Speechelo and had to deal with it being ill. Extremely negative experience!

You think you're only buying one product but right after the purchase you find out that you have to buy the more expensive pro version of the product to get the advertised benefit from the product. In addition, the site shamelessly uses fake live conversions so that potential customers get the impression that the product is "really" being bought every 3 minutes.

Avoid this scam!

In addition, the site clearly advertises how customers like the product, but when you read the small print at the bottom of the page, it turns out that these "customer reviews" are completely fictitious.

Click at end of first mp3 download! I used about 660 characters on day 1, to quickly download & compare 14 voices. The usage meter says I used 2,646, 4 times what I used! The promo says the only limit is 700 words per voice over, with no limit on number of VOs. So why are they tracking my usage? Very concerned about this. The bad reviews are correct!

The AI voices in Speechelo are used without any consent of their original owners, Speechelo does not seem to care about intellectual property or licensing at all. Using the generated voices for any public content thus can get you into serious trouble, regardless the fact it is highly unethical.

I don't understand the negative comments posted here. The website clearly states that you need a basic license before upgrading to Pro. The instructional videos are helpful and, with some perseverance, you can get good results. I launched my Podcast channel in September using Speechelo Basic and have received positive feedback from listeners. Using Speechelo means you don't need a studio to record, or to pay a professional narrator. For a 'hobbyist' podcaster, it's ideal.

I am very disappointed in the entire Speechelo experience. I bought the basic package which has very limited voices. You need to upgrade to the Pro version to get decent voices. Additionally, there is a 5000 character max limit with each voice over.

The Website is sketchy, with a constant push to upgrade to Pro.

I am going to get my money back and look for a better product by a more professional company.
