The most revolting monopoly in NZ.Is not enough they stinks in everything they continue to shove their CRAP in my throat.
We had a very disappointing experience…
We had a very disappointing experience with Spark. Our broadband and landline (via modem) were extremely unreliable—calls would drop or break up, and customers often couldn’t hear us. The broadband was also so slow that streaming was nearly impossible. Unfortunately, we found their customer service unhelpful and unresponsive.
Since switching to Kiwivoip, the difference has been huge. Their customer service is easy to reach and always helpful, and our landline has been working flawlessly. We’re very pleased with the improvement and will also be moving our mobile services over for a much better overall experience.

The 3G shutdown seems to be just an excuse to try and sell new hardware. I got sick of the warning message about the shutdown everytime I make a call on my 100% compatable 4g and 5g phone. Called the number and asked for the message to be turned off. This was refused. I pushed further and they asked for my account number which is is beyond ridiculas, who has this handy. After asking to speak to his supervisor he hung up. Will cancel my account and go back to One NZ.
Sidenote warning can be truned off by dialling *#*#86583#*#* this is all they had to tell me rather than waste my time.
Horrible customer service
What absolutely shocking customer service. They security is absolutely absurd, saying the would not allow me to pay the remainder of my phone off because I didn't have my driver's license despite driving there and being questioned on why I didn't have my passport with me if I had misplaced my licence. Absolutely abusrd they moment they clicked that I was wanting to move providers (so I could get away from their outrageous phone plan prices) was the moment they started treating me very rudely and were quite intimidating and pushy on ways to work around me wanting to stop using their services. Horrible. And this is not the first time they have acted like this while I have wanted to pay the remainder of a phone off.
Crap value for cost of service
Don’t waste your time they offer a below par service, signal in and out kind of hard to watch a movie that requires wifi which is hard wired from modem frustration not worth the time of day, its a rip off plain and simple
Worst customer service ever!
They took my money and never gave me the info I needed to activate the 2 eSIMs I paid for. I wasted hours chatting both using their app and their What’s app help. I gave them all the info they asked for multiple times and they never followed through with a resolution. Don’t do business with them!
Worst customer service ive experienced
Sparks customer service is nonexistent. Im literally jumping through hoops and repeating myself just to find out where my online order is. Messaging their chat is so infuriating, I cant tell if im talking to an AI or if im talking to someone on the other side of the world. Im switching off of Spark as soon as I can.
Took 8 weeks to set up internet
Took 8 weeks to set up internet for our business, delaying our opening by a week which cost us approx $15k.

I bought Spark tourist Sim card at Auckland International airport. The plan I bought was supposed to give me unlimited minutes of text and talk in New Zealand in 500 minutes of international talk. Checking my account it tells me that I've been using it since February 1st which is a lie and that I have run out of credit and yet checking further it tells me I have unlimited minutes Etc. Trying to reach anyone for assistance is next to Impossible. I highly recommend you by your sim card from anybody but Spark New Zealand

The worst provider out there
The worst provider out there. We were sold a business 5g a when it wasn’t performing well, we called them and were told that 5g is not even available at our location . The customer service just takes to from one person to the next person. They don’t refund the charges even when the usage has been zero and you have to get another service provider because spark doesn’t work. They will not even refund the charges for the modem.
It’s just such a disappointing and frustrating experience.
I have now been double charged by Spark…
I have now been double charged by Spark multiple times when purchasing new prepaid packs. Each time, the second charge appears approximately one minute after the legitimate transaction.
When I attempt to resolve this, I am forced to wait several days to reach anyone through your messaging system, which is wholly inadequate for time-sensitive billing issues. Once I finally receive a response, I am told this is somehow my fault.
Your explanation has been that because I had an existing pack scheduled to renew that night, purchasing a new pack created “available credit,” which triggered an automatic renewal of the old plan - and then I was also charged for the new pack I was deliberately trying to buy. In other words, your system processed two charges in quick succession, without warning, and without any clear explanation at the point of purchase.
This is not user error. This is a system design flaw.
While the duplicate charge has eventually been refunded, there has been no acknowledgement that this is a failure in your billing logic, and no goodwill gesture for the inconvenience and time wasted resolving an issue caused entirely by your system.
It is unreasonable to expect customers to understand the hidden mechanics of your auto-renewal logic to avoid being double charged. The responsibility sits with Spark to ensure its billing system is transparent, predictable, and does not penalise customers for legitimately purchasing a plan.
This issue needs to be properly addressed - not dismissed or redirected back onto the customer. I am moving from Spark to a new provider because of this reoccurring issue.
Who else experience hasn’t receive…
Who else experience hasn’t receive their data even they already deducted it to your bank acc? This is frustrating!!! It happened to me many times now, at first I was like never mind but this time it happens to me again.
Bought a SIM at AKL-Staff Great Product Worst ever.
Bought a $29 prepaid at AKL. Staff were great. Over the next day discovered voicemail is an optional extra on prepaids and no way to contact Spark! * 123, *122, *333 and other contacts listed on the SIM card only respond 'no credit' and ask for a topup. Went to a shop who could not figure it out! Worst prepaid SIM experience ever.
Spark are my worst nightmare!
They are my worst nightmare!
Slow slow internet speeds, could not stream Netflix, TV1 on demand or e now, just broke up due to slow internet speeds…no resolution despite repeated calls for weeks over Xmas, they did not return calls as promised.
Despite giving my new credit card number I received a late payment threat.
This company lacks transparency.. im disgusted.
This company lacks transparency on all their little worm holes in their services.
I had 2 phones connected to their services, one was on a 100 dollar endless plan which is now superseded by the 95 endless. And the other, a 45 dollar plan. I changed my 100 dollar plan to a 65 dollar plan thinking we would save money and stay afloat during hard times. They then sent me bills that seemed too high, I found out, that by downgrading my plan, it is apparently standard that the secondary plan gets hiked up to the original plan you came off!! Im not talking pro rata extra charges on the bill, im talking i downgrade one, to have the other one upgraded without my knowledge. On complaining, their generic seeming responses were not answering my questions directly, and was givin a bunch of information that was irrelevant to the direct issue. Their next response was, "if your new to Spark, here's a link or information..."
EXCUSE ME.. im not new i have had accounts my whole life with Spark. No help with crediting back the 100 dollars they stole with their sneaky tricks they play. Ill be taking 3 phones in this house to another provider, hopefully one that will allow me to deal with a HUMAN!!!
I was put on the companion and leader plan by their Staff, as advised it was the best deal for our needs. It was never explained that lowering the plan of the Leader would automatically adjust the companion to 95 per month. Be very wary of this because who in their right mind would be expected to know this without it ever being explained in the first place.
Good job Spark, top service!!!
Highly recommend to all who enjoy being screwed over as a lengthy loyal customer 👌
Buyer Beware
I joined spark a year ago after purchasing an S24 Ultra which was a very expensive phone so it made sense to get phone insurance through Spark which I added to my spark account , I was told it was very easy to get phone insurance if I broke , lost or had my phone stolen. Unfortunately yesterday I lost my phone in a deep pond and was unable to find it .I contacted spark they informed me that they have nothing to do with phone insurance and gave me to contact of another party. The list that they require is substantial . I needed to send $350 to make the claim which was almost impossible to do because of 2 step verification so I had to go into y bank to sort. I just got an email to say they want a screenshot of find my mobile off Google. They want a screen shot on find my Samsung which I can’t get cause all my passwords are saved on my phone I lost. They want a police report which all needs to be sent through for approval. I have contractual obligations for work and need a phone ASAP. My friend who works for the same company as me ran over his phone last week , he is with Vodafone he walked in to the shop and walked out in 20 minutes with a new phone……well done vodafone

Spark told me they fixed landline and broadband but no,everytime it rains it goes out, technition comes and txts spark to say its fixed and spark says good news your case is fixed.Dont go with these clowns it's just another circus of fobbing off and more hassle than it's worth unless you have all day to open a chat with someone not in New Zealand
