Here’s the bottom line, they were negligent and damaged property and despite repeated attempts on my part, they will not make the situation right. The GM, assuming he even exists, REFUSES to contact me after several attempts to get a hold of him. By the way, his name is Andy, has no last name apparently, and claims “customer satisfaction is our utmost priority”. Laughable at best, but looks good on the website.

SOS Moving was hired to move or belongings from CA to UT. It was a significant move, approximately 30K pounds. For the most part, the move went well. Interior furniture was wrapped before being loaded and arrived in tact. We packed the boxes ourselves and there were no issues with those items arriving in tact. HOWEVER, a significant amount of our outdoor furniture was not wrapped before it was loaded on the truck. (I have photos of the furniture on the truck at the destination showing it was not wrapped.) Of course the furniture was damaged. When I attempted to discuss the matter with our sales representative, he told me send the photos so he could start a claim. He would not give me any information on how claims were processed. The photos were sent via We Transfer and a week later SOS was claiming they had not received the photos, despite We Transfer alerting me the photos had been downloaded by SOS on the day they were sent. I sent the photos again. When they finally confirmed they received the photos, they “offered me $240” for the damage, despite damaging $7,600 of furniture. They claimed the offer was based on their policy of 60 cents / pound / item. When I asked how they arrived at that amount, having not weighed any of the furniture, they only said, “we looked it up online and we can offer you $240.” I told the sales rep the company was NEGLIGENT and that should void their “insurance payout”. I told them I wanted to costs of the repairs paid and I wanted to speak to the GM, Andy. Andy’s email address and direct line would not be provided. I was told to email him through the general email address. I tried no less than 3 times to reach him this way and he REFUSED to respond or contact me.

SOS will respond to this review that the insurance policy is set at 60 cents per pound/ per item. That is the drum they beat. What they won’t say is they were NEGLIGENT in their duties. They refused to take any responsibility for their absolute failure to do their jobs and wrap the furniture to prevent it from damage. They refuse to pay to fix the furniture. Management is shady. Stay away from these guys.

SOS Movers is the best of the best

SOS Movers is the best of the best! I’ve used them for two moves now. They are super knowledgeable, speedy, and careful with everything they’re moving. They wrapped all of my furniture and fragile items with care using plastic wrap, blankets, and bubble wrap. I would recommend SOS Movers to anyone looking for a smooth move!

Buchu and the team were excellent!!

Buchu and the team were excellent at moving my one bedroom apartment from los angeles to mountain view in one day! everything was efficient and fast and nothing arrived damaged and the movers were professional and kind. would recommend to anyone doing any kind of move.

First Time Moving Experience- Excellent

Buchu and his squad took initiative and got everything in my apartment moved out with care and speed. I have moved many times but it was my first time using a moving company. I will never go back to doing it myself because these guys made it quick and painless!

So thankful to have found this awesome moving company! Buchu and his team are professional, the ultimate hard workers, and go above and beyond to make even a complicated move work. They packed and reassembled my family’s belongings with utmost care and had a can do attitude willing to help however they could. On time, communicative, careful, organized and tidy, what more could you ask for! Thanks SOS team!

AMAZING moving company

AMAZING moving company. Buchu and his team were on time, professional, and treated all of my belongings like their own. Not only were they friendly, they ensured that all furniture was wrapped and stored correctly during transport. Would recommend to anybody!

**Terrible Moving Experience with SOS Moving**

I had the worst moving experience of my life with SOS Moving, and I strongly advise against using their services. I recently moved apartments and hired them, but from the very beginning, it was a nightmare. The movers arrived over 20 minutes late, and immediately complained about parking, despite the fact that there was ample space to park. They never introduced themselves but whoever texted me to let me know they were on the way was named Vitalii.

From the get-go, the movers were careless and disrespectful. One of the movers flipped a box labeled "fragile" upside down, and when I politely asked him not to do that, he rolled his eyes at me and started speaking to his coworker in another language. As they brought down my boxes, I could hear them banging them down the stairs, stacking heavy boxes on top of each other with no regard for the contents. I watched them bump multiple pieces of furniture on the walls and ceiling.

As an artist, I specifically asked them to individually wrap my hand-painted artwork, which is extremely valuable to me. Instead, they carelessly threw my paintings into a wardrobe box with clothes, ignored my request to wrap them individually, and stacked multiple paintings together. One mover even tried to wrap a metal whiteboard with one of my paintings and I asked him to stop again. He again rolled his eyes and began talking in another language to his coworker.

Their lack of care extended from my furniture to clothes as well. They left wardrobe boxes in the living room instead of bringing them into the bedroom, making me carry them myself. They seemed annoyed when I asked for more wardrobe boxes and rudely suggested I shove my clothes in to make more room.

Throughout the move, the two movers continuously spoke in a foreign language, and seemed as if it was in a negative way towards me and my stuff. Their attitude changed slightly when we arrived at my new apartment, which is more luxurious than the old one.

What truly crossed the line was the payment process. The mover asked me to enter my credit card information into his phone to complete the payment. He then took THREE screenshots of my card information, claiming there was an issue with the Wi-Fi. I saw him send the screenshot to someone and asked about it and he again said it was because of the WiFi. I felt incredibly uncomfortable, he then pressured me into tipping despite their awful service. I was hesitant and asked to enter the amount myself but he insisted on entering the tip himself, raising his voice and asking me "How much you tip me? 15% 20% or 30%?" and I ended up paying 15% despite my wishes.

To make matters worse, he almost left with my key fob, which grants access to the entire building. I had to ask for it back before he pretended to "find" it in his pocket.

Now, here's the part that makes this even more frustrating. I was actually recommended to SOS Moving by a friend who had an absolutely beautiful experience with them. She had two different workers who were kind, professional, and respectful. Her great review of their service was why I felt confident hiring them.

After this horrible experience, I called customer service and spoke with Michael. He was dismissive, uncaring, and clearly not interested in resolving the situation. Despite promising to call back, I had to follow up multiple times, and he only offered to refund the forced tip, not acknowledging the terrible service. I also discovered a damaged lamp. I haven't unpacked everything, so I'm not sure what else may be broken.

Overall, this was a complete disaster from start to finish. The workers were careless, rude, and unprofessional, and the customer service was just as bad. I still haven't received a proper resolution or refund for this horrible experience. I strongly recommend avoiding SOS Moving at all costs.

Update: The customer service representative, Micheal, only offered to refund me for my absolute terrible experience by offering the full refund back only if I take down this honest review. Saying no, he then told me I will now not be getting a refund.

Fantastic moving company

Fantastic moving company! This is my second time using them and they are very cost effective while providing a great service. Buchu, Ruslan, and Denis were easy to work with, kind and took great care of everything I had. I would recommend anybody to use them.

I'm surprised by the professionalism of…

I'm surprised by the professionalism of these guys! Two weeks ago we were moving from San Bernardino to Long Beach, and the move took much faster than we expected. The guys are very professional, punctual and polite. I can confidently recommend this company to anyone who wants a stress-free move.
