Shockingly poor recruitment process
I applied for a Sodexo vacancy that matched my profile exactly: I am a skilled professional chef with multiple years of experience, supplemented by diplomas in ICT and administration — literally the qualifications they were advertising for.
What did I get? A cold, copy-paste rejection: “Je komt niet in aanmerking.”
No call. No interview. No discussion. No feedback. Just an instant dismissal, as if my CV went straight into a digital trash bin without anyone actually reading it.
For a multinational company that constantly promotes “quality”, “people” and “professionalism”, this recruitment process is embarrassingly hollow. When even genuinely qualified applicants are brushed aside by automated templates, it exposes a hiring system that values convenience over competence.
This experience felt disrespectful, sloppy and deeply frustrating. It makes one question whether Sodexo is truly interested in talent — or simply ticking boxes as fast as possible.
If this is how candidates are treated before they even join, it says a lot about the company culture behind the scenes.
