Hello,
With the use of a continuous glucose monitor I realised that my glucose levels spiked severely after eating the soup. After the second time I’ve stopped using the soup and put my subscription on hold -waiting for the new formula I was told they are working on

Hi Ilonka - I'm sorry to hear you've been seeing glucose spikes on your CGM when eating our soup. The active ingredient in our soup (glucoraphanin) can support healthier blood sugar management over the long term, but obviously seeing sugar spikes in the short term is not ideal.
As you mentioned, we have already reformulated our soup to improve it - and one of the big changes we've made is making it very low-carb and low-sugar (as well as much higher in fibre!) A pleasant soup to have at lunchtime. Costs almost as much as a good quality soup from M&S. And, on top of that, I have lost 6 kg over 12 months! I will keep going in 2024.

Definitely feeling the benefit
I am definitely feeling the benefit of the soup. I find a little pepper does the trick, although a bit or Peri-Peri salt is a very good option if yiu want a little more heat.

Pleasant way to have weekly broccoli boost.
Been having the soup weekly for a few months. Rather expensive but very tasty. Over 6 months my blood/sugar reading has gone from 42 (just prediabetic) to 39 (normal). Not sure whether this is due to the soup, other efforts to avoid sugar or just random fluctuations but I'll be continuing with my weekly bowl of broccoli just in case!

Hi Donald - thank you for your email and I've just replied to you to discuss this. As mentioned in my email, everyone is impacted differently by our soup and although most people get along well with our soup, and the dietary fibre and bioactive molecules (particularly glucoraphanin) in our soup are very good for our health, we've had a small number of people who have experienced changes in their digestion as a result of adding a lot more of these compounds into their diet in a short space of time.
We usually find that for this small subset of our customers, introducing the soup to your diet more slowly over a period of time gives more time for your digestion to adapt to the changes and helps to avoid the unpleasant side effect you've mentioned experiencing here. As per my email, I'd be happy to either share the guidance from our dietitian on digestive side effects and how to enjoy our soup without suffering from them, or else arrange for a return and refund of your order.

Has my first packet and I will be doing…
Has my first packet and I will be doing the 3 months trial. It tasted ok. I added a little salt and some black pepper. It tastes of broccoli and I’ve drank much worse tasting products than this. Would it speed up the process to have two per week I wonder? To anyone not liking the taste. Drinking a mug of soup once a week that maybe you’re not that keen on as opposed to going on to having diabetes is no contest as far as I’m concerned.

In terms of eating more than one bowl of soup a week: The bioactive compounds in our soup work to change the way the metabolism in our cells works, through turning on and off different genes inside our cells. All the research both we and others in the field have done indicates that eating a high dose of glucoraphanin once a week is beneficial in this regard. There is also some data to suggest that eating it twice a week may bring additional benefits compared with eating it once a week - but we’ve not yet done the dosing studies that would be required to confirm this and see whether eating it more frequently than twice a week would bring still more additional benefits. Therefore, while there is nothing to suggest that eating our soup more than twice a week would do you any harm, we recommend sticking to eating it once or twice a week, depending on what you can afford, since that's where the strongest evidence lies.

Subscribed to buying the soup following a blood test prediabetes result
Subscribed to buying the soup following my GP informing me that my blood test results showed me to be prediabetic. The soup was recommended to me by a friend who had heard about it having benefits to help manage the control of diabetes, based on scientific research. I've been enjoying the soup once a week for a few months now and I'm very pleased with my latest blood results which showed that I was no longer prediabetic. I've changed my diet very little, my diet being healthy with next to no processed food, salt or sugar. |Therefore, I'm super pleased as is my GP. I shall continue to subscribe and have the soup once a week. Delivery has been great and on time. I've had no need to contact the company. All the boxes I received were damaged while the shipping box was in pristine condition. This is not a good start! Just after I drank my soup my body reacted weirdly in my brain and my heart for a few seconds. I got scared and drank nearly 1L of water. Then few hours later I started feeling unwell and then vomited 4 times. Clearly there is something in that soup that my body rejected. And after reading all the reviews / feedback that are available online there is nothing solid about their claim regarding this soup. But their biggest flaw is definitely MONEY! That’s all they want MONEY MONEY MONEY!

Poor delivery service
There's nothing wrong with the soup, but their courier abandoned an expensive delivery on my doorstep in full view of the street without even ringing the doorbell, claiming it was in "a safe place".
As SmarterNaturally's excuse for the bad service from the courier is that "the service provided seems to vary, from location to location", it hardly bodes well for taking out a costly subscription and expecting to actually receive it. I've cancelled the service.

Hi David - sorry again about your delivery experience with us. We generally have a good experience with our current couriers, but unfortunately, like many online retailers, we do have issues from time to time with them.
Your feedback is really useful, as we're currently looking at whether we can change the carriers we use to improve our service to customers - whether this means switching all customers onto a new, more reliable courier service, or being able to switch just customers where the local service of our standard couriers in their location is poor, since this would allow us to address the "variance from location to location" in courier service.
Obviously this work doesn't change the bad experience you had, for which I'm sorry and sorry that it cost you as a customer for us. I hope you might consider rejoining us as a customer once we've implemented these changes to our delivery process!
