Denied access due to disability
Denied access due to disability. I have never received such shockingly callous, indifferent, ableist and unintelligent treatment from a receptionist in my entire life. I am autistic, and when I arrived for my first appointment I was unable to find my H&C number because of sensory overload caused by one radio voice coming from the reception area and a different radio voice coming from the adjacent waiting area. This overload entirely disabled my executive functioning, so I was unable to find the number, which I knew was stored in my phone. I explained the problem, the receptionist just looked at me and said “we can’t see you if you don’t have an H&C number” I went outside to try, but it was pouring with rain and my phone was getting wet, which increased the distraction level, as I had already been triggered, so I still couldn’t function. I went back in, explaining again that I couldn’t find the number with the two voices going on. The receptionist looked blankly at me and repeated “you can’t be seen if you don’t have an H&C number” to which I replied “I have an H&C number but I cannot find it in this environment” She said “you can go to the toilet”. I tried that, but there was a loud noise in there which absolutely completed the sensory overload. I went back and asked the receptionist if she could turn the radio off. She said “You’re 10 minutes late, so she won’t be able to see you anyway”. When I pointed out that I wasn’t 10 minutes late arriving she said I was 8 minutes late arriving, which was not true, as I had been there for at least 5 minutes by then. I said “I’m autistic and I can’t think properly to find the information you want with this noise going on. This” - indicating the speakers around me - “is the equivalent of not having wheelchair access”. She said “you can get a wheelchair through these doors” which perfectly demonstrated her level of interest and understanding of a simple analogy. I had no choice but to leave. I have never had an access issue caused by my disability so callously disregarded and dismissed, I am shocked at the receptionist’s utter lack of interest and outright refusal to offer any actual help, resulting in this being the first time in my life that I have been absolutely denied access anywhere, but for this to happen at an NHS treatment centre is beyond shocking. I would suggest a serious reprimand and some equality and accessibility training for this uninformed and indifferent staff member as a minimum first step towards rectifying this shameful situation.
Update: The ‘copy and paste’ reply below is the perfect indicator of this company’s lack of humanity. I have indeed contacted the branch concerned, but have not received so much as a confirmation of receipt of my email. I suspect they are preparing a victim-blaming defence before responding.

It is clear from your account that you felt unsupported and unable to access your appointment because of the impact of sensory overload associated with your autism. We recognise that every patient has different needs, and we are sorry that you felt your concerns were not understood or accommodated.
While certain information may be required before an appointment can proceed, we appreciate that the circumstances you describe were challenging and that you were seeking assistance rather than simply being reminded of the requirement. We are particularly concerned by your perception that your explanations regarding your disability were not listened to or acted upon appropriately.
We also apologise for the lack of communication following your email to the branch. We understand how frustrating it is to raise a serious concern and not receive even an acknowledgement.
Your feedback has been shared with the local management team for investigation. As part of this process, we will review the circumstances surrounding your appointment, the interactions that took place, and whether there are opportunities to improve our approach to supporting patients with sensory and other accessibility needs. We will also ensure that the concerns you have raised regarding disability awareness and communication are considered as part of this review.

Avoid this surgery if you want to keep your teeth. Me and my teenage daughter jo
ined in December and my daughter had checkup and she also attended February at no stage did the dentist mention that one of her teeth was badly decayed. For the past few days she had been in agony and dundonald dental refused to get her booked in for emergency appointment so I was left no choice but to book her in privately to another dentist as emergency. The new dentist was horrified as my daughters teeth was in bad shape and she now needs a root canal. Had this been picked up back in December it could and would have been avoided. Dental negligence at it's worst. Tbh I should have known they we not competent as the dentist is extremely rude and ignorant. The dental practice is also very dirty and grubby.

Been 4 times and they have 0 work have literal holes in teeth yet they wont fix them just jeep asking you to come back next month

Unprofessional handling
After having an appointment re an extraction or hope of extraction I was told to make another appointment which would take time. So I did, luckily I got one same week. I went back to be told the same thing I was told in previous appointment, but I was injected and my mouth was numb for over hour with no intention of doing any work or extraction in this waste of an appointment. I lodged a complaint only to have the person I complained about ring me from their personal mobile number and talk to me why he didn’t do the work! I find this really unprofessional and to be honest I was mortified to be speaking to the person I expressed my concerns about, that with demeanour and attitude might I add. No dentist should ring from their personal mobile and now he has my personal number breach of gdpr and I’m even more uncomfortable with going back here with this mayhem and feeling cut to the bone. When you lodge a compliant you don’t expect that person to ring you on a personal number very unprofessional

My appts have been cancelled now twice
My appts have been cancelled now twice, no call just an email to say that appt has been cancelled and for me to call to re arrange appts
I have had the same filling done 3 times and the filler keeps coming out this is the 1st time in my life I have had to visit the dentist for the same problem and not getting any positive success
Very disappointed to say the least as I work mon-fri and have to take time off work to attend appts
