Helpful staff who took time to explain the process clearly. And they called when my allocated storage unit changed so even arriving after the office was closed presented no problems.

They lure you in....

They lure you in with competitive pricing, but will increase it sharply YoY! I have been a customer for 3 years or so and am now paying 50% more than when I started!
The phone technology to unlock gates and lift access is temperamental.
There are a clear lack of packaging options for goods that require something other than a cardboard box (other facilities have broader range inc. mattress/chair covers, bubble wrap, zip ties etc); and the staff completely lack any self-awareness or basic customer service skills.
It is a dreadful experience each and every time I have to visit. I once was trapped in the elevator, and the intercom did not work, the app was not responding and either I was ignored by staff on the security camera, or it (surprise!), probably wasn't working itself!
No-one even questioned me when I had to take the emergency exits, triggering the alarm, and walk out the rear entrance, which is only for staff. I simply returned to my car and calmy drive off.

Shurgard is ridiculous

Shurgard is ridiculous. Stated one price then added on a bunch of extra charges to bump up their fee, after you've signed up.

They also cancelled my auto pay and tried to charge me for late payment and threaten me with throwing my storage items out of their unit. For a mistake THEY made!

Hate having to deal with this company.
