SCAM! CD Baby and Show.co are FRAUDSTERS
CD Baby and Show.co are absolute scammers! I paid for a 7-day music campaign, and guess what? It only ran for 1 hour before stopping! The worst part? They charged me an insane $23 per click! This is nothing but a fraudulent scheme to rob independent artists.
Their customer support is a joke—completely unhelpful and dismissive. They refuse to take responsibility for their shady practices. I am now taking legal action and warning every musician out there: DO NOT use Show.co or CD Baby!
They prey on independent artists who are just trying to promote their music. They will take your money and leave you with nothing! If you care about your career, stay FAR AWAY from these thieves!
There is a fraud website
There is a fraud website. I lost more than $1000 in this website and they asked me to pay more. Don’t pay and save your money!
Not working.
I stopped campaign after few days: 5 Dollar for 11 clicks. This simply doesn't work for me, i'm really disappointed.
Product not working!
This company sells products they believe in, but they just don’t work. I paid $25 for an ad that (supposedly) gave about 30.000 impressions, but only 10 clicks on Spotify link in ad and no measureable increase in Spotify streams. I’m not using them again.
Do not waste your money on this farce
Do not waste your money on this farce. I looked at 10 to 12 web sites over 2 days that I was apparently getting click through for, (while the ad was running) and not once did I see my ad. Any new streams that I had I could identify as something that I did, and no streams attributed to any of the ads that I paid for via show.co
It truly is as bad as people are…
It truly is as bad as people are saying. You pay your money, then watch while it goes up in smoke in places that have nothing to do with your music. I did seven campaigns. The first was targeting Canada, and it seemed to have clicks by robots giving me a high response rate on paper, but no actual click-throughs. The second went so poor I halted it early on. The third just sat there on the day the campaign was supposed to start and never actually worked. The seventh campaign was targeted for the San Francisco Bay Area, and what they gave me was the UK!
Customer service is days out from responding, and when they do, they just tell you there is nothing they can do for you in any regard. Further, it is always the customers fault. Your ad is at fault. Your selection is at fault. Thinking of using this service is all your fault! My suggestion and opinion is to AVOID this service.
Really bad
Really bad! Recommend people to stay away! Nothing more to say
Really shocked with the result of a…
Really shocked with the result of a Spotify ad. I paid 100 for a Spotify ad with 10 clicks as a result. 10 clicks!!! That is beyond pathetic. I won’t be wasting my money with Show.co again. I feel like I threw money into a black hole. A hundred dollars went to waste.
Won't give me my unused money back because I deactivated my old card xd
I used them a few times, it's okay I suppose. Their support is awful, I was told I can't get the rest of my money back that was unused for the campaign all because I deactivated an old card that I used. You're kidding me right? That's literally theft. I'll write to the BBB over this lol where I live we have protections over stuff like this literally. I'll never use this service again and I'll be sure to forward it to all the active discords I'm in like Ocean Dark, Mau5Trap, Bitbird, Audius as well as talk about it openly on my Instagram.
With a budget of $50 for an…
With a budget of $50 for an "interactive" ad, I got over 19 thousand impressions. Sounds great, right? From all those impressions I got six clicks. SIX! I'd have to call that a terrible return on investment (ROI). Pathetic results.
Ran a pre-save campaign with Show.co
Ran a pre-save campaign with Show.co. I got nearly 800 Pre-saves and Follows according to Show.co. On the day of the release zero showed up in Spotify. Show.co says that can't do anything about the issue. I spent $1,500 to promote the album and get these pre-saves and I have nothing to show for it. If music is a career, you might want to use a more reliable service.
Don’t use this company!!!!
Don’t use this company!!!!
Wish I’d read all these reviews before using this company. Still not received my order. Whenever I email them I get the same bounce back giving excuses of why it takes 38 days for delivery. Mine is over 28 days!!! Very dissatisfied.
Don't bother
Seems worth it- but isn't, don't even bother testing. You will not see the results you are looking for.
This might work much better when you're an established artist already to some extent, but even then it won't ever be the ideal option.
Study a bit on marketing music and do it on your own instead.
Waste of money, bad placements & targeting..
Service is terrible to invest in because it has bad placements and ads are shown to the wrong people. Even if you pay for the top-tier placements it results in low clicks and wasted spend. Just use facebook ads instead, much better at targeting and cost efficient!
0 Click Ad placement irrelevant
0 Click. Ad placement irrelevant, just to rack up the campaign dollars.
Started my campaign early but got refund
UPDATE >>>>>>
I gave it 2 starts initially for the reasons described below. But after a lengthy correspondence via emails, and thanks to an understanding staff member, they agreed to refund the part of the campaign that started early, which is a huge deal for me, so I'm changing it to 4 stars. I will definitely give it another try in the future, because apart from this issue, I got quite a few clicks and in general everything worked well.
<<<<<< UPDATE
I used show.co for my first EP release. It was released on June 19th, I decided I’ll put everything into the release day, so I set the campaign date as June 19. I live outside of the US, but the campaign was supposed to be in the US, and the release date is by US time. Then on June 18 US time I got a message saying my campaign has started. I got a lot of clicks, but they all went to a product that wasn’t released yet. The ad campaign and my EP being out coincided only during night time, after 12 AM. I wrote to them, they said it’s my mistake. Why would I advertise in the US, but do it using non-US time? It’s ridiculous. I lost few hundred dollars, and I won’t get another release day.
Don't bother unless you have money to throw away
I tried both an audio ad on spotify and a couple of banner ads for $20 each {the first ad was $25 because there is $5 dollars audit fee}. Watching my spotify stats it looks like I got no extra plays, as for the other distributors I doubt it.
The "click through" rate is abysmal, which makes it way overpriced, I estimate you would have to spend $5000 - $!0000 to see any results. It would be better imho to put an ad online somewhere and pay music listeners $5 or $10 to listen to your album, at least you would know some new people have heard it.
Maybe if you were a WELL established artist it would be somehow viable, but something tells me they would use other means.
Maybe my songs are trash, but I don't think this is really true. I'm Eoin Delaney, the album is "Keep It Simple Baby"
DO NOT go through Show.co!!!
If I could give zero stars I would. DO NOT go through Show.co for any ad promotions!!!! They are terrible with communication for starters. I attempted to do my first ad through them. I paid and after a few days none of my stats showed up. Instead of giving me my money back (which I demanded for several days and got no response), they gave me a credit! So I gave it another try because if I cant get my money back I might as well use it. After I applied for the credit I checked every day to see if the stats from the ad would show up... STILL NOTHING! And on top of that, it's showing that my ad is inactive. I still have yet to hear back from them and I know they have seen my messages because it shows when it was read. I am super disappointed with this company. I only through them because my distributor recommended them but ..... TOTAL TRASH!
They basically took my money
They basically took my money. Said active but when i check campaign status it says please try again later everyday until my campaign ended. I checked my Spotify for artist page. They never advertised the song smh SCAM! Dispute transaction if you already paid!
Not worth the money
Tried this feature to see if it worked. Found that this is not a viable marketing tool for emerging artists. Might be good to try if you have an established base of fans but not if you are promoting new artists. After trying several of similar services I have found that these are just a way for someone to make a quick buck. You can do better with a Facebook Campaign.
