Karl's mystery tackle box is the best!!!!!

The variation of lures and soft plastics they send me I've caught fish on everything they have sent me and I've had the subscription since March I'm definitely resubscribing when this one is up I really love this stuff and it's helped me become a better fisherman thank you all to be honest I was I little worried about the rest lie but I've already caught fish with it so my worries were out to rest lol thanks again

Unrecognizable from what it used to be

You used to be able to get a number of popular baits at a discounted price and free shipping with your $50 membership. Starting in late 2023, they stopped restocking items that were not part of an in-house brand. The selection became horrible as things got picked over. Then they removed all discounts for any item that isn't an in-house brand. They used to have lots of sales events as well. Now sales are few and far-between and when they do happen, it's only in-house brand items. There's really no reason to have a membership anymore unless you exclusively fish their in-house brand items.

This site isn't what it use to be. a membership is $50 and their prices just keep climbing and their sales are nothing like they use to be. for some reason their military discounts are no longer applying too. do yourself a favor and shop around for other offers deals.

Terrible Shipping

I ordered the mystery tackle box on November 29th 2023 and it is now January 14th 2024 and I still have not received my box. Also, at checkout the price was supposed to be $18.98 but the order failed to mention the Canadian price and I was charged $26.98. I will not be ordering again as another person in my household ordered something before Christmas time and still never received their box yet either.

Shipping times suck.

Deals are good and products are good but their shipping is bad. I ordered on a Monday(11/27/23) and they didn't mail it out until Friday (12/1/23). It's 12/10/23 and still have not got my shipment. I guess Amazon has spoiled me.

Sale prices seemed to good to be true. Usually u see a great deal then the shipping is absurd ! Not here , prices were great , shipping was prompt ! Definitely going to do a lot more business here !!!! Thanks Karls 👍🏻

Complete scam!

Complete scam!! If anything goes wrong with your order like them attaching an old address to my order then not answering a single email, and go figure their phone number doesn’t work. Go ahead and call the store they say they have nothing to do with online orders.. stay far away!!

Unknown credit charges

Do not trust this company with your credit card information. I am Canadian, placed an order last month. All was fine. However this month, I received a 68 dollar charge in Canadian, having undergone the exchange. One problem—I had placed no purchase and did not have a subscription. The company quickly rectified this…so I thought. When I checked my credit card they had shorted me 4 dollars due to the exchange. Normally, I wouldn’t fuss over this, but this “refund” was for a charge that I gave no consent for. I am currently waiting to hear back, but I felt I had to warn people to beware of leaving their credit card information on their website. I would include an order number, but there is no history of purchase and I have received no explanation for why the charge happened.

I love the mystery boxes but don’t expect your second box to ship very quickly. A buddy of mine who lives in the same town as me, order placed on the same day, has shipped 3 days before mine. actually mine hasn’t even shipped yet. So why with the slow shipping? Company would be a lot better if they could get the boxes out quicker

Misleading Return Policy

Received a new reel on 07/17/23. Out of the box the reel was broken. Line guide completely jammed clunky gears when attempting to spin the reel. I reached out the same day to inform the company that I wanted an exchange in accordance with their 60 day hassle free returns. The verbiage in their return policy includes reels and does not list manufacturing defects as an exception. The company will not exchange or refund the product. Instead they want me to reach out to the manufacturer to resolve the issue. I agree it is an option they list in their terms but they also state a 60 day hassle free return policy and are failing to stand by it. The retailer should bear some responsibility for providing a defective product.

Update: Karl’s agreed to exchange the reel at not cost to me. Updating to 3 stars for the understanding.

Have a saltwater box on auto renew each month. Last one they said went out on June 8th, hasn't shipped yet!! Not the first time this has happened either!

Slow to ship and poor customer service

Slow to ship and poor customer service. Ordered a rod over a week ago and still hasn't shipped. I ended up canceling my order and bought the same rod on another site and got it within two days. The chat feature on the website isn't really a chat feature in that it always say's "we'll get back with you in a couple of hours"

Update, once I wrote the first review they sent me an email around 15 minutes after letting me know that my rod would ship in a couple days. It shipped three days after it was supposed to arrive and I still had to pay the same amount for shipping. Then, when I go to look into my order, it says there is no shipping information so I cannot track it. This company’s customer support is nice but has shown to be incapable of making it right with their customers. Never again will I order from them

Misleading inventory

Nowhere on the website does it mention that any fishing poles won’t ship for weeks, absolute waste of time and ruined a fishing trip.

Not Great

This is honestly one of the first bad reviews I have ever written, but I believe people need to know what they are getting into so felt obliged to write this. I ordered a clothing item online from Karls on June 14th and paid $20.00 for the Expedited shipping option so I would receive my item before I went on a weeklong trip to the Boundary Waters in MN this week. It is currently June 21st and it has yet to be delivered. The biggest problem is I sent out an email to their "customer service" two days ago and still have not received a reply about what is going on. I cannot even track the shipment because they never provided a tracking number when they emailed me on June 15th saying the item had shipped. Their chat feature on their website for customer support is also not working. Not a great business model guys, reading other reviews I see other people have had the same experience I have had. Best to avoid the hassle and pay the extra money through the big retailers.

Update: Jeremy with Karl's customer service got back to me today. They initiated a refund of my expedited shipping cost and reshipped the item because the first one was lost. I understand it was a holiday this past Monday but still some work to do on their contact methods.

I ordered a rod 13 days ago on May…

I ordered a rod 13 days ago on May 31st. I was told it would be shipped out at the end of last week but have heard no word on it and is still waiting in shipment. I have had this happen about 3 other times here and can say I will never order anything else from this shop. If you want better customer service and faster shipment go to tackle warehouse. Customer service is super helpful and the shipping only takes 2-3 days usually. Im tired of getting the same runaround I always do from here. And worst of all they wont refund your money you just have to wait a month until the lazy shipment workers finally send your stuff out.
