I cannot recommend Ship Cars Ltd based on my experience.

I spent almost three months working with this company to arrange the shipment of my electric vehicle and personal belongings from the UK to Jamaica. Throughout that time, I repeatedly explained exactly what I intended to ship, including the number of moving boxes, outdoor furniture and pallets. I sent measurements, photographs and answered numerous questions before committing to the booking.

After receiving what I believed was a final quotation that reflected my shipment and after gaining clarity on the overall process, I paid the invoice in full.

Only after my payment had been processed was I told that they could not even book my collection date until I provided the weight and measurements of my belongings. They then informed me that shipping prices had increased because of their shipping partners and that their warehouse team was now concerned that my car and two pallets might require a 40-foot container instead of a 20-foot container.

I was then told that my quotation was only valid until the end of the month, which I found to be a bizarre explanation given that they had already issued an invoice and accepted my payment in full.

My most recent updated quotation was issued end of May. Once an invoice has been issued, accepted and paid, how is it still treated as a quotation? I do not understand how a company can accept full payment and then change the terms of the agreement by saying shipping prices have increased and asking the customer to pay more.

What made the experience even more frustrating was the lack of consistency in communication. Over several months I found myself repeating the same information to different members of staff. I repeatedly asked whether my belongings would fit, whether two pallets were included, what container size would be used and whether there would be any additional charges. Each time I believed those questions had been answered, new issues arose.

As someone relocating internationally, I need to work with people I can trust. Transparency is essential. This experience was unnecessarily stressful, particularly after working with the company for three months. Then, less than a week before they were due to collect my vehicle and belongings, I was told I might have to pay more, leaving me scrambling to find an alternative way to ship everything overseas.

I cannot do business like this, so I requested a refund.

To their credit, they agreed to refund my payment. However, the overall experience was upsetting and completely undermined my confidence in the company.

I hope Ship Cars Ltd improves its communication and ensures that once an invoice has been issued and paid, customers are not later asked to pay additional money or told to rely on terms they were never directed to before payment was accepted.

Great company turned it round quickly appreciated it massively

The company's approach and way of dealing with clients is second to known. Sandra from Ship Card Ltd dealt with my shipping case so professional to the point that felt easier and comfortably for a client and I would recommend the company to anyone willing to ship vehicles accross the world.

I have been dealing with Ship Cars for a very long time (over 10 years ago) with my recent transactions being more than 5. I ship from UK to Africa, Walvis Bay in Namibia. Sandra is particularly helpful and goes beyond to get involved in times of trouble. My recent (April 2026) truck arrived in Walvis Bay with driver side smashed: broken side glass, side mirror, side lamp, etc. Sandra launched into action and engaged the shipping line directly. It led to a successful claim (smile).

I also found Ship Cars rather flexible in terms of pricing compared to others. They managed to reduce my shipping cost and offered a repeat customer discount which is always great.

I have been shipping via Ship Cars for a long time and do not see that changing soon. I would highly recommend them especially when Sandra handles your job needs.

They are all very polite until they get your money then it seems all you get from them is lies. Even when you point this out they still lie more. Not to be trusted . Beware!

What an amazing company to deal with. Aarti is so helpful, nothing was ever a problem. Aarti organised and helps me with things beyond what her company can provide, what a great employee. I would highly highly recommend ship cars to anyone.

It was my first time shipping a car from the UK so I didn’t know a lot of things about how everything worked. That didn’t stop the people in Ship Cars. Especially ms Sandra ( who helped me the most when we were trying to figure out everything for the shipping). They were always helpful and they guided me through the whole process helping in each step so I can also understand everything that was happening. All the shipping times and ETAs were as expected and everything was smooth. For someone that shipped a car for the first time it was an amazing experience and every single person in Ship Cars was super helpful. Every time I called someone helped me, every time I sent a message a response came quickly and all my emails were answered on time. Lastly I want to mention that it was a process in which I didn’t have to do a lot of things because they took care of everything. In the future if I have any more cars to ship from the UK I will definitely go with Ship Cars again!

Very good experience

After searching for quite some time for a shipping company to work with, I came across Shipcars. Everything went to plan with our shipping to SA and the service was second to none! I have already booked them in for a second shipment, with more to follow! I have to give a special thanks to Sandra who was absolutely fantastic from start to finish, making the process easy and offering reassurance all of the way!
