I have been a shikshak member for a year now and I love it. I look forward to the monthly live classes and I use the online recipe library at least twice a week. With mixed dietary requirements in the household the recipes can always be adapted. I nolonger order takeaways when I cook 5* shikshak meals at home. The sense of reward when you dish up an amazing meal is so satisfying!

After joining in with all Monica's amazing Facebook Live Spice Club cookery classes throughout lockdown last year I did not hesitate in signing up for the Lifetime Membership of Shikshak. Monica teaches you how to cook traditional dishes from many regions in India in simple straightforward steps with loads of useful tips along the way. The video library on Shikshak is excellent with new recipes added frequently. There are pdf versions of the recipes too which can be used in conjunction with the video if you prefer...the choice is yours. Shikshak live classes allow the Shikshak community to cook along together, led by the warm, engaging and knowledgeable teacher that is Monica, with the occasional guest appearances from her lovely mum.
I now find that the food I have cooked from Shikshak recipes is better and fresher tasting than that of our local Indian restaurants. Friends and family agree too.

Monica delivered a private class for us for a group of students spread across the globe, including countries in Australia, Asia, America and Europe. She is an excellent host, very professional but above all exceptionally warm and friendly. The format of the class worked really well for us in the UK and internationally; we all had a fantastic time and learnt to cook a new delicious Indian dish. I highly recommend Monica and her cooking experience; amazing!

Really good. Excellent classes, and Monica has got a great little community going.
An hour at a time allows you to practice individual dishes before the next session.
Any down side is entirely the difference between zoom and live - but as we haven't been able to do live for the last 15 months - to make anything of this is simply unfair.
I wouldn't have joined if I hadn't done the initial free classes. If you have missed those, just go for it.
It is a outstanding way to learn new techniques in your own kitchen.

I've been using the online recipes that shikshak has and they are so well presented! I've made fresh naan for the first time and they turned out brilliant. The video tutorials are interactive and fun. Monica is fantastic and makes cooking Indian food fun!

I am overwhelmed with the level of enthusiasm and experience shown by Monica in both her cooking and handling of Shikshak “followers”. It makes a real difference to be able to have the art of Asian cookery explained and illustrated in a way that I can take on board easily. Combined with a weekly direct access to Monica to have cookery questions answered its really fabulous ..... make room at the top please Madhur Jaffrey!

The way to ease lockdown while learning to cook like a real Indian home cook

Excellent. Monica doesn’t simply provide a range of delicious Indian recipes (though there’s that too) she carefully and clearly conveys techniques and approaches that make you a noticeably better cook in a surprisingly short period of time.

Like your favourite tv chef but without all the faffing about in bustling markets and canal boats. And with the added bonus of being able to WhatsApp her with questions.

A superb tuition, advice & friendly community with recipes, demonstrations, videos and weekly clinics with our fantastic “shikshak”, Monica. She is extremely knowledgeable and encouraging, with a very pleasant demeanour. I’ve learned so much and cooked many delicious meals, for which my family have been most grateful!

Fantastic way to learn how to make authentic Indian food. Monica is a fun and informative teacher and everything I have made online with her has been delicious. I would be the first to say I am not a great cook but now I'm looking forward to wowing all my friends with my new found skills!

Shikshak has made me fall in love with cooking Indian food again! The recipes are super clear and easy to follow, as are the live cook alongs. Monica is a great teacher, who’s love and passion for Indian cooking inspires the same in you. The community feeling that is very present in the WhatsApp group is great. If you love food and cooking, then I would highly recommend becoming a member now.

Shikshak is AMAZING. We have been cooking along with Monica and her live lessons for nearly a year so we've done quite a few dishes. I think we've only missed one class - we love it so much! The food always tastes fabulous and Monica is great: she really connects with her audience and we have picked up so many tips and interesting info. We really look forward to the live classes - learning something new and it's fun!

One of the best online cookery schools out there. The level of attention and detail is brilliant and the facebook group tips and whatsapp curry clinic are such are help. It's really taken not just my indian cookery skills but my normal cookery skills to another level. Every one loves my cooking! Thank you so much Monica!

Excellent recipes, videos are a joy to watch. Monica clearly knows how to cook an amazing meal, but she also has a great talent on how to teach the skills needed.

Following on from the live classes that started with the Spice Club at the beginning of lockdown, Shikshak couldn't have come along at a better time.
Giving us a taste through the live classes of just a snippet of what would be on offer with Shikshak.

The curry clinic every week is excellent, where like minded keen cooks can ask question and share knowledge, but more importantly have all of our 'how do it do this'? questions answered by Monica herself. It makes the whole experience a very personal one.

The videos that are available to members are brill, great explanations, delicious food and lessons on how to make the very best of Indian food.

Highly recommend this, as a gift or for yourself, whether you know how to cook Indian food or not, informative and very much fun!!!

Fantastic indian cookery school. This online community headed up by Monica is the best way to learn from home, with live online cook along classes, an ever evolving recipe database and curry clinic WhatsApp group where Monica helps with any indian cooking related questions.

Shikshak is a revelation! The live cook along classes are great fun, the recipes are authentic & easy to follow. Monica is a great teacher (Shikshak) and has the patience of a saint! The classes are suitable for beginners and more experienced cooks.
The online videos are great as they bring life into a recipe - the hints and tips that Monica adds from her vast experience are invaluable.
The weekly curry clinic on Whatsapp has already generated a new family of friends! Everyone sharing photos of their creations is a real pick me up whilst we're unable to see and cook for friends during lockdown. It's fantastic to have a chef on speed dial to answer questions!
I would highly recommend anyone interested in learning how to cook authentic Indian food to give Shikshak a try!

The recipes are authentic!!! Much better than 99% of restaurants out there.
