it was time wasting and it stole all my data and I got hacked by them
HO HUM another waste of time.
I just put in a search in for trainer, (in my industry) for 47 new jobs, NOT ONE of them was for a trainer. SEEK have the worst algorithms for job search. If thier algorithms were as good as Instagram you get a hit every time. Just not good enough. So tedious actually.
Unfortunately Seeks search algorithm…
Unfortunately Seeks search algorithm feels horrendously out of date and lame. I was using Job searches 15 years ago that were far more accurate.
Looking for an IT Project Manager role, visa sponsored, in NZ? It just cannot service that request.
It has a good foundation, the site is very reliable, I don't get any technical errors, but offering up Inbound/Outbound booking specialist jobs when searching for something completely unrelated is a serious error in itself. I would advise firing their current Webdev manager and starting again.
In this age of AI Seek fails
In this age of AI Seek is still unable to send correct jobs. Doctor jobs receive openings for cleaners. Accountants receive opening for labourers. Likely labourers and cleaners seeking work are receiving openings for neurosurgeons and accontants.
Seek should not just rely on expensive AI. Just use a basic Windows 1998 software that will send accounting jobs to an accountant. Surely it cannot be that difficult in 2026.
So much time wasted on Seek and have…
So much time wasted on Seek and have never heard back from a single job. I only ever apply for jobs that I am overqualified for. I've used Indeed and Linkedin jobs with success. On Seek, 90%+ of the jobs didn't even get viewed by the employer. It takes a lot of time to write a personalised cover letter and apply for these jobs so you just want that to be seen at the very least. I would not recommend wasting your time on here. Try others. 2 stars because the platform is well designed and easy to use and I like the ability to track your applications and get notified when they've been viewed, etc. They do keep you in the loop that way, but overall the loop is useless since there seems to be a lot of unviewed applications.
I think Seek.com is a data collecting…
I think Seek.com is a data collecting business that probably on-sells information. The reason why I say this is they have a function whereby you can put your identity documents into their system to give yourself supposingly a better chance of getting a job by indicating you are really keen to get the job, however lets face it if we weren't keen we wouldn't go to all this trouble to apply. I also have an issue with this idea because so many businesses are not locking down their computer systems well enough to stop identity theft, such as Optus etc, so I have little faith in Seek.com being able to do so.
And I do say it is troublesome applying because if you are like me and worked in different industries and have to move to a new industry they have their program set up to download your jobs onto their system from the first CV you put onto their system, it's an absolute pain if you tailor your CV to remove some of your jobs as they won't allign with what Seek.com has on it's system which it shows employers.
Also why does Seek.com need to know exactly where we have worked and have it on file, why not just let us attach our CVs instead so that the employer can see where we have worked, but Seek.com doesn't collect this information.
Furthermore, it doesn't weed out scams (I saw a job advertised at Bunnings and it was obviously a scam so I showed someone at Bunnings and they said they would show their Manager) and this program seems to grab from jobs from other employment websites.
the other paradox
..can't upload pdf. docx. nor txt files for any applicant forms. can't even upload with existing "seek" resume.
very bad looking for work only to see…
very bad looking for work only to see same job adverts running from 1 year ago. I think the employers never take the adverts down many are fake jobs you are applying for .
Shame on seek for not penalizing the employers.
Australia
Very poor value for money.
Data collection excercise
So many things wrong with this.
Applied for a job where it said immediate start, no experience needed as they train you.
I have experience and got a generic Seek email saying " application unlikely to progress."
There were 394 applicants for the job and they relisted it as soon as expired.
So none of 394 applicants were trainable?
I contacted Seek and suggested this was a scam. They said it is legit.
This job has mow been relisted 3 times.
Then you have Specsavers and Pet barn who constantly advertise every position in every store. You apply, do online interview questions and then get ghosted.
This is just a data collection site now.
No responsibility taken for possible phishing scam
I have been a registered user of this platform for at least 15 years. I have been using SEEK less over these years only because I find it inferior with filtering, matching and searching compared with other platforms that are much more useful and intelligent with targeting the roles I'm looking for.
I recently clicked on a job and was diverted to the employer page which stalled and appeared suspicious with incomplete web parts and misaligned text, reminiscent of a fake website for phishing. I immediately closed the page and advised SEEK customer service.
The response I received from "Kirby" was totally unsatisfactory as follows:
"... When you are redirected to an employer's direct website, we can't provide specific technical support as we have no view or control over their systems. Normally, clearing your cookies and cache clears most technical issues (instructions below) however, you may need to contact the employer directly if this does not work for further technical support or an alternative way to apply..."
I acknowledged that this may or may not be a phishing scam. It may be a technical glitch with a legitimate employer. Nevertheless, this absence of any responsibility on the part of SEEK for my candidate / user experience is disgusting, that I get a very weird looking web page that displayed that had errors and I was unable to click on anything, reminiscent of a fake website by cyber criminals.
I asked Kirby to escalate this from feedback to a complaint in SEEK and for a full and proper response ASAP, as the response caused me great concern about data security and privacy in SEEK. I did not receive a response. I have hidden my profile on SEEK pending account closure and deletion.
Other platforms have a process of reporting issues with job ads and they respond properly.
Highly recommend not to trust SEEK with any personal information until or if they develop and implement a responsive cycle of customer service for cyber security.
Both Australia and especially the NZ…
Both Australia and especially the NZ site is absolutely useless!! The search engines are an absolute joke and not to mention the job alerts that show jobs that have absolutely nothing to do with the alert created!!
Job search also shows jobs that has nothing to do with search criteria!!
SEEK is now just a time waster!! VERY DISAPPOINTING!!!!
They scammed me of $120
I’ve been trying to get a hold of someone to let me know when is my order. It said delivered but I never received a tracking number to check or follow up. I’ve sent exactly 10 emails to support @seekglo.com and I am 100% ignored. They basically stole $120 from me amd I have no idea how to get it back. I’m Soooooooo pissed.
Small issues make overall experience annoying
Still looking for work - that is not the issue, however. The issue is logging in and having a password is a complete waste of time. The passwords don't match half the time (despite getting it correct time and time again) and they send one time codes that do not work. The range of jobs available in categories is full but still feels limited.
Painful
Search is painful,
Type in Saturday and cop every listing that doesn't have work on Saturdays and says in the write up mond-friday
Which is a wonderful waste of time!
Most look like real jobs, and you waste time and money getting to them to find they're recruiters you have to pay to help find you work ?
Wont be using Seek again.
Seek adverting jobs for companies with unethical record.
I have informed Seek about advertising a job with a very unethical company that discriminates and mistreats people worldwide (not an Australian company) with Trust pilot reviews a little over 1 star. Their reply was it is not their business, they advertise whatever as long as the client pays and directed me somewhere else to lodge a complaint. I found it extremely unethical to suggest to Australians to work for this company with such a bad record and total arrogance on side of Seek, lack of social responsibility and lack of protecting Australians. I do not trust Seek anymore.
I used their resume enhancement service…
I used their resume enhancement service and it seems like they used chatgpt to redo the resume. I know because I compared the one I did with chatgpt with the one they sent and they look identical.
Terrible
Terrible. I applied more than 30 job. There are none of them review my application at all. what is going on here? I start wondering if this platform is actually running and help people to find a job. Either the job posts are fake or just a scam for personal information. It's so frustrating when people have the skill and experience who seriously look for a job. In the end, your profile is completely being ignored!! You don't even stand a chance for an interview!
Definitely avoid! A recruitment website that scams your advertising money and insults clients who place job ads.
I placed 4 ads on this recruitment website, and the experience was extremely poor. Since the positions I was hiring for were remote, the location was entirely irrelevant. Jobstreet calculates the ad price based on the position and location of the ad, but they do not disclose the potential user volume or possible recruitment results. As a result, you are blindly choosing the ad location. After my ads were posted, I immediately realized the location was incorrect because there were almost no applicants. I contacted Jobstreet’s account manager within 24 hours, hoping to get a refund and repost the ad with a new location, but I was told that the ad was non-refundable and that I would need to pay for a new ad to change the location. When I asked my account manager where would be a better location for exposure, since my ad placement was blind, I received no response. Later, I emailed Jobstreet’s client service team to resolve the issue and received a reply 2 days later. The client service team told me, first, that my ad had been live for 3 days (without any resolution or handling, so it was live for 3 days), and second, that my ad had received a large number of applicants (even though the ad had been live for 3 days, it had only 8 applicants, all of whom were unqualified; they referred to this as ‘a large number’). Their account managers do not listen to what you say, constantly interrupt you, and after you raise questions, they simply do not respond, leaving the phone hanging with no further response. A company with such unfair terms, which arbitrarily takes your ad money and insults consumers, deserves to go out of business.
