As well as being very helpful, friendly and easy to contact, SE were efficient, thorough and timely.
Exactly what we needed from our solicitor for our house purchase as we were out of the country and relied on their awareness to ensure things were done properly and not allowed to slip.

When comes to family law my experience was very bad. You expect honesty,but get contradictions, misleading and wrong statements. And they charge you for it. No wonder Banbury solicitors have not very good reputation.

Based on my experience, I would urge anyone considering SE Solicitors to think very carefully before instructing them. I have been extremely disappointed with both the service provided and the escalating charges.

It feels as though the pursuit of additional fees takes priority over delivering a satisfactory service to the client. The charges have increased, leaving me facing a higher financial burden than expected, while the level of service received has not justified the costs.

What concerns me most is the impression that this may be a wider pattern rather than an isolated issue. From my perspective, the fees feel excessive and disproportionate to the service delivered. Clients should not be left feeling that they are paying more and more without receiving the quality, transparency and value they reasonably expect from a legal firm.

Legal services are already expensive, and clients deserve honesty, clear explanations of additional charges and a service that justifies the fees being demanded. In my experience, the value for money simply has not been there.

My advice to prospective clients: do your research, question every charge, request a detailed breakdown of fees in writing and consider your alternatives before committing. I would not recommend SE Solicitors based on my experience, and I want others to be aware of the financial implications before making the same decision.

Ultimately, high legal fees should come with a standard of service that makes them worthwhile. In my experience, that standard was not met.

We cannot recommend Zoe highly enough! Throughout the entire process, she was always on top of our case, incredibly organised, proactive, and consistently kept us informed every step of the way. Her communication was excellent, and she was always approachable, helpful, and quick to respond to any questions we had.

I am writing this review to warn others against using SE Solicitors. My experience was deeply disappointing. The solicitors I dealt with were incompetent and seemed only interested in extracting payment without actually doing a proper job.

Communication was abysmal. As one reviewer noted, "They never got in touch with me unless they wanted money". I constantly had to chase them for updates, and when I did manage to speak to someone, it was usually an assistant rather than the solicitor handling my case. This lack of direct communication made the process slow and frustrating.

The quality of work was equally poor. I found them to be incompetent and untrustworthy. They failed to spot obvious issues that a competent solicitor should have caught, leaving me to deal with the consequences. It felt like they were just going through the motions to bill me, rather than actually fighting for my interests.

The service was extremely slow and very bad value for money. I would certainly not use them again and would strongly advise anyone else to steer clear. You would be better off taking your business elsewhere.

I required help with probate and finances.
With SE- Solicitors I found true sensitivity with absolute clarity regarding my situation.
The lead solicitor and trainee solicitor that were assigned to me couldn’t have been better, being most professional, knowledgeable, charmingly and helpful throughout.

I am part of the same family for whom S-E Solicitors were the executors and I find it hard to believe you do not recognise the case, but then this epitomises the lack of interest and care that your company has for its clients. You may be good at the simple, money making jobs such as conveyancing, but unable to undertake anything that needs skill or communication. I agree with everything Caz has said. I have been an executor of several estates over the years and your firm did not even show it understood the basics. Whether this was sheer laziness or incompetence is unclear. Maybe both. The case was not run by a qualified lawyer. The associate in charge was slow, omitted to respond to most of our queries, did not communicate information professionally between parties and overall provided a very substandard service costing much more ( nearly 25% of the estate’s value) than was necessary. Please reflect on your poor performance.

SE Solicitors acted as executors of a family member's small estate. Unfortunately, I found the experience extremely distressing and if I could award them nil stars, I would. I was extremely disappointed with the service and, based on my experience, my concerns were not properly listened to or addressed, and legitimate questions were often avoided rather than answered directly, with little concern for the reality of the situation. As a result, what should have been a relatively straightforward process became unnecessarily stressful, and I felt they made the administration far more expensive and difficult than it needed to be. Overall, this was the worst experience I have ever had with a solicitor and I would not recommend SE Solicitors to anyone.

A deeply disappointing experience. Throughout the entire process, I found the attitude arrogant, condescending, dismissive and completely lacking in sympathy for a hardworking family already under enormous pressure.

In my experience, important information was avoided or not properly communicated until it was too late to do anything meaningful about it. It felt as though every technicality and loophole was used against us rather than anyone showing the slightest interest in fairness or helping resolve the situation.

The condescending manner and communication throughout the whole process only made an already difficult situation considerably worse. Mr Waiz is a real, nasty piece of work.

Solicitors should help people navigate difficult situations, not leave them feeling crushed by them.

Based on my experience, I would strongly recommend looking elsewhere.

Hannah and her colleagues did a great job in conveyancing our recent house move , very efficient in challenging circumstances

Hannah represented me for the sale of a rental home that I had owned since 2012. She processed things very quickly although the purchasers solicitors didn't so she had to try and move them on several times a week. All was well in the end and I can't fault SE in general and Hannah individually. Good, trouble free experience for me!

We used SE-Solicitors for our sale and purchase for a home move and can't fault them. Hannah was a huge help whenever we had any questions or worries and she was very good at keeping us updated at every step.
We were trying to get the process moving quickly so we were given the option of dropping off paperwork whenever we had anything to deliver. The office in Bicester was easy enough to find and dropping off paperwork was a very quick process.
Whenever there were any delays in the process, Hannah was chasing the relevant parties and was very reassuring for us. If ever we needed to do anything, we were made aware straight away so the delays were never on our side of either transaction.
I've moved home a few times and always found solicitors add to the stress, but SE-Solicitors actually relieved a lot of our stress. I would recommend them for sure.

Hired these guys three years ago to find my grandmothers birth certificate in Germany. I am a british citizen and Cannot speak German so I thought hiring professional lawyers would be better.

For a year I chased basic updates, I told them what standement I think it was held when I first hired them. They would come up with excuses that they’re still looking and often ignore my emails (I only would Email them every 3 months for an update as they wernt doing so and would chase them up when they ignored my original email.)I got to the point where I would also cc the administrator email when emailing the lawyer just so someone would reply.

They eventually said they couldn’t find it after I chased them for a reply.

I hired a genealogist after this in which he found it within a month in that exact standement I said.
These guys did nothing and took my money. €700.

I wish I would have found the reviews on reddit also complaining about the same treatment before hiring. I would give them a 0 if I could. Avoid at all costs.

We recently used SE-Solicitors for our house sale and purchase. The process proved to be particularly complex and we were really grateful to have Hannah O'Gara acting for us. She provided clear advice and guidance and was prompt in responding to any queries (of which there were many!).

Karen Middleton acted for the purchase of our G2 listed property. Throughout the process she was extremely professional, diligent and effective. She was careful to protect us with indemnity cover to negate possible future claims for long standing works to the house. She gave us valuable and excellent advice that helped avoid penalties for late completion. A force for good, she was consistent and easy to understand. Our purchase was fraught with difficulty, complicated and at times frustrating. She remained calm, supportive and focused. You should use Spratt Endicott, and Karen if you want a first class service.

Badly written and unsigned letters to an old address and to a relative's address were made worse with poor attachments and one that would not open without a wave of malicious actions.
This was made worse with an unreasonably threatening stance and still no direct link to their client with whom I have had no contact. One star only because zero stars is not an option
