Was approached by a tele canvasser today, she sounded very plausible, at first contact she left a voicemail saying she was from the educational hub and was looking for a 360 photography company for some of her schools in London.

I Googled the area code and it did strike me as odd that a company based out in the sticks in Wales would have the contract for all the schools in London, so decided to do some research. When I read the reviews it was exactly the same M.O as described, but I’d left my number before reading the reviews

When I was called back it was obvious she’d read my website, got an understanding of what we did and was pitching that back to me. When I told her I’d just read her company’s reviews and they sounded like a bit of a horror story, she actually agreed and said it was unfortunate I’d had to read that!!

We ended the call there, she neither challenged the reviews or offered anything new. I’d say every negative review on here is true based on my experience with them. Defo not worth taking a chance on.

In mid July I paid a total of £720.00 to the Educational Hub after a hard sell. Unfortunately I did not investigate thoroughly and if I had done I would never have done any business with them. I now believe this is a scam and they need an investigation. I cannot speak to anyone at the company and as I have had no interest whatsoever in my business by any local schools i would like the sum I paid reimbursed to me.

I was contacted by an advisor from The Educational Hub, which is a trading name for School Supplies Services Ltd.

I was advised that I would be contracted to be the sole contractor for schools in my local area, namely air conditioning service and repair.

Aaron did seem very genuine and advised that The Educational Hub will contact all schools to advise that my company will be the sole contractor to supply said services.

Once payment was made, a service agreement was sent via email, on viewing this, the agreement was very poorly written.

The agreement states as follows:
"We will appoint you as the sole provider of the services as detailed in point 1a (air conditioning service and repair) for the areas covered in point b (wigan and preston), under this agreement no further company can be LISTED for the services as described in point 1a for the areas covered in point b."

It would transpire that what The Educational Hub have provided, is little more than an online directory of service providers, they apparently send a directory to schools too.

Using their online directory, I searched for my company, in the areas as in the agreement, I found several other companies listed amongst my business, my business was listed as a "postcode priority member", however, this completely contradicts the point made in the service agreement, as the evidence present, is that other companies can also be contacted.

I received no further communication from The Educational Hub, no contact details from schools, no enquiries as to giving prices for the services my company provides.

Further concerns were brought to my attention upon discovering negative reviews of The Educational Hub / School Supplies Services Ltd on Trustpilot.com and other review websites.

It was now evident to me that I had been scammed and mislead.

I made contact within the 2 week cooling off period, as stated in the service agreement, this contact was made via email in which I sent a letter, written on a company letterhead, to the accounts department, requesting a refund.

I received a reply confirming receipt of my letter and was advised my refund request would be dealt with within 1-2 weeks.

I received a typed up letter several days later, once again, poorly written and blatantly refusing to refund the amounts paid, I may also add the letter wasn't printed onto a company letterhead, not very legitimate to say the least.

I believe the company is also associated with a builders merchants which covers Oswestry and North Wales, I deem this to be true as many of the contacts I've dealt with at School Supplies Services Ltd are the same as the contacts listed as working for the builders merchants.

I have since opened up a small claims court case against School Supplies Services Ltd trading as The Educational Hub, as they have refused to refund the amounts paid, I did advise prior to opening the case, that I would take court action if a refund wasn't received.

I was further concerned to find that School Supplies Services Ltd have previously traded as Scemes and EdFirst, this does raise concerns of the legitimacy of the company.

These people have no conscious or any morals, preying on other businesses to fund their scam of a business model.

At every opportunity I have acted professionally with this company, giving my reasons as to why a refund is necessary, but they have been negligent and appear to believe they are upholding their side of the agreement.

I would strongly advise against using any of the following businesses associated with Schools Supplies Services Ltd

They are also trading under Educational Hub and are one of the same so avoid both at all costs.

I was called to see if I wanted to pick up building survey work in my trade for 250 schools. All I had to do was pay £495 + VAT for access to the school contact list.

I was very skeptical, and reading the other reviews here on Trustpilot made up my mind that this was a scam.

When their contact called back to ask if I was still interested, I mentioned that I had seen the reviews on here and that the company had scammed people out of money.

He didn't even complain or challenge me. Just said thank you and goodbye. Definitely a scam 100%. They dont even pretend it isnt when found out....

Thank you for speaking with me earlier regarding becoming a supplier of fruit and vegetables for private and academy schools in the Luton area. As promised, here is a little bit of information about who we are and what we're looking for.

Our company is called the Educational Hub and we are one of the UK's leading providers of education procurement support, offering a range of services which help schools to buy the products and provide the services they need. We were established in 1999, and have just under 35,000 Educational Establishments registered with us across the UK.

We are looking to work with a company that supplies various, high quality fruit and vegetables to suit an ever changing menu. It is becoming more and more attractive to support local businesses, reduce carbon footprints and be able to trace exactly where your food has come from (and rightly so!).

Over the past 2 weeks we have had 6 enquiries for a new supplier from our 74 schools in the LU postcode area.

We are not an advertising company or agency so we do not take a cut or commission from any of the work you take on from the schools.

Companies do however cover their own administration fee to certify with the schools for 12 months

So the administration fee for this is a one-off payment of £375+VAT.

Just to confirm, there is only the administration fee that we require from you. You will invoice the schools directly and they will pay you directly so what you charge is what you get paid. Standard payment terms are 7-10 days but these are negotiable.

As we are not an agency, we do not get informed of every job our suppliers take on. We catch up with our suppliers on a yearly basis to discuss that possibility of renewal and we have a 96% re-registration rate across the board. There is no way for me to guarantee a certain amount of monetary return for you or a certain amount of jobs but I can guarantee is that I will only ever register one supplier within your area to work with your local schools.

Scam Scam Scam. I signed up for this service last year hoping it would generate business for my counselling practice., For a small private practice their fee was a lot of money. I haven't had a single enquiry neither did they put my profile with them up on google as offered. Ive seen nothing for them under counselling services on google.

Absolute scam....I asked for a refund because they basically just lied to me, they don't return your calls , I've asked for a Dsars which they have a legal obligation to provide , nothing. I'm taking this further ,its appalling that they are allowed to trade , any one who works here clearly doesn't care about anyone except themselves and hitting their sales targets including the opps manager whom i did name but have been asked to remove, I wonder why?! don't say you'll get something done then not return my emails and voicemails

Its a scam. Plain and simple.

Has anyone else been asked to write a cancellation letter and send it back to schools supplies. They acknowledged my letter with an email saying they would be back within 14 days we are now on day 21 and heard nothing just wonder if its another delay tactic £750 down not impressed.

Signed up in July. Not a single call!! Emailed a couple of times and no response. DO NOT TOUCH THIS COMPANY!!!

Hi i wondered if we could pay a company or set up a facebook group. I am sure all of us are busy but if we could get 1000 members and pay for a youtube celeb to go undercover at this place and expose it. The goverment, police and offcom in the UK are not doing anything and allowing them to continue to trade like this.

The other thing we could do is club together and perhaps mail every school in the Uk about this company to ensure every school knows about what they're doing.

Maybe we could build a map in The Uk on this group and all of us that have been ripped off by this company and misssold get together and hand deliver the document.

Stay well clear of these con people . They conned me out of my money and I'm fighting g to get it back. My bNk has been informed and the fraud people are investigating . There rip off saying I will be first for work in schools in Northamptonshire area. Waste of time and very angry

I was contacted out of the blue be a hard selling salesman asking for us to provide 41 First Aid courses to schools in our area. I asked to see more information, in particular how they would guarantee 41 courses. I received what appeared to be a non-disclosure agreement. No less than 10 minutes after it was returned "without the requested information" and with incorrect signature information, I received a call. The once very helpful salesman is now very aggressive demanding payment. When I asked about the additional info the i requested his response was "this is a legally binding agreement", this was repeated no less than 5 times in a 7 minute call.
I have now reported this to the police and will be informing ofstead of these scammers.

As far as ' Advertisment ' goes this is reasonable for what it is, Schools is always a hard market to get in to so i was glade to become a member. Slow to start at the begining but nothing unusual with these things. Glad to review as we have had contact with some schools which we wouldnt have had prior. Good communication and the way it was dealt with.
Also I would like to add we have quoted one school directly and had referrals from 2 others. One was a bit out of my way and the second I was tied up with another job in the time frame they required.

This company is a SCAM, the owners are the same as Edfirst.co.uk (which, btw has now been taken down)
The salesperson assured it was supposed to be an exclusive offer to our business for local postcodes.
Not only there are a lot of similar businesses listed in on their website in the area but a year has passed and we've had not a single engagement from a potential customer.
Now, for the last 2 weeks, we have been trying to contact them to no avail. They don't answer phones, don't reply to emails and the contact form on their website does not have a 'send' button so literally - no way to contact them.
AVOID AVOID AVOID, don't let them make a fool out of you!

Don't be fooled by the positive ratings - they are all a bunch of lies. I was contacted by these guys under the guise of 'School Supplies Services Ltd' which was also trading as EdFirst.co.uk.

Clearly these fraudsters prey on new business owners. They will manipulate you and spin you a bunch of lies based on information they have found about your business online, pressuring you into a decision and then you'll never see that money again.

I called back 20 minutes after the initial call as I didn't feel right about it, and true enough they back-tracked on everything they had said, and they wouldn't refund the £600 I'd just handed over in spite of providing no service for me at that time.

Don't be fooled these people are fraudsters and not genuine. I hope they get what's coming to them.

Was slow to start with only received a few large tenders opportunities but since the stormy weather recently we have had several jobs from the schools within our local area. Will definitely be renewing for next year.
