Fabric not suitable for making Roman blind as advertised
We've recently ordered a Roman blind to be made out of a Sanderson fabric. The blind making company order the fabric direct from Sanderson & then make the blind for you. When they received the piece of fabric it had a 2cm deviation in the fabric which made the pattern on the blind appear wonky & the blind looked as though it hadn't been made straight. Nothing to do with the blind maker, he spotted this deviation before making the blind. When I contacted Sanderson they said that it was acceptable to be 2cm out on the pattern & advised us to choose a different fabric where the design would work better. Apparently supplying a new piece of fabric would make no difference as they will all look the same! Surely if the fabric isn't suitable to make a Roman blind they should not be advertising it on dozens of websites as suitable for a Roman blind. We have already decorated the room with paint & paper to compliment the blind which quite frankly looks drunk & is unusable!!! When I've called around other blind makers, apparently this kind of deviation is happening quite a lot with Sanderson fabrics! Disappointing but I'd avoid this iconic brand as their quality control, standards & decency have clearly dropped!
