Really disappointed with the education system in the UK, we spend 5-6 months of the whole year on holiday and spend only 2 days a week in University with not even a full day of lectures. The lecturers are too lazy to give us a full day of lecturing so rather we get booked in for 10 minute tutorials. And then 2 weeks before we're supposed to be submitting they're on Easter holiday. Salford university is really just a money making scam and I wouldn't recommend to anyone.

Salford University (in relation to CYP Nursing) is a joke.
The course and staff are generally unorganized and not supportive (well most staff). I’ve had terrible experiences on placement specifically racist ones that I’m not even going to explain because of how bad it is, that Salford University couldn’t even support me with. They would all gaslight and gang up against me as if it was my fault.
Till this day staff both in placement and Uni, have gotten away with racist abuse and have protected their reputation rather than my mental health.
If you actually care about your mental health and want a good nursing course journey do not come to this university/apply to the course.

Since 2016 (as both learner and lecturer), I’ve experienced Salford inside and out.
Briefly the best part : Practical, industry-linked learning - especially strong in Architecture, Business & Media. The campus at MediaCityUK is a major advantage, giving students real exposure and collaboration opportunities.

Not perfect (specially admin and support) yet full of potential with hands-on experience (just be patience for the paperwork:))

Private Parking companies are only on-campus parking. Extremely high charges with poor signage. Can create very large fines very quickly causing financial distress to users of the campus. Not a good way to treat students/employees/visitors.

Salford University’s nursing course left me thoroughly disappointed. The curriculum, although promising, felt poorly structured and disorganized. Many of the staff members seemed unapproachable and lacking in adequate support for students. I had a particular bad student placement and I am still awaiting for a member of staff to contact me to discuss it. No student should go through what I did.

One of the most concerning aspects was the enforced vaccination policy. This felt less like a public health measure and more like a coercive tactic, leading to an unsettling atmosphere. The staff not only failed to respect individual choices but their insistence on vaccinations should raise alarms about their ethics and priorities. Bottom line, the university broke the law (section 45 E of the public health and safety act)

Furthermore, in 2020 online courses was handled inadequately. Students paid the same fees as in-person classes, yet the quality of education received was subpar. It’s only fair to argue that students deserve a refund for the lack of engagement and support that comes with the online format.

Salford University must critically re-evaluate its nursing program. We barely used the sophisticated simulation suites which sold this course to me, but they were letting the students in the exchange programme use them. I would not recommend this course to anyone serious about pursuing a career in nursing.

Spoke to somebody in admissions and they were (in contrast to the other unis …) uncomplicated and very helpful. They had a common sense approach and found a sensible solution.
