The Sadlers wells membership team is not fit for purpose. The membership perks are ok, but the team itself is terrible at communication. Recently I met a patron who said that the membership team is doing a terrible job. I’d reckon if the membership team made a genuine effort to support members resolve issues, then Sadlers would get more money. It was either emailing the feedback team or writing this review. The membership team does not take calls. Perhaps this post will have a positive impact. I love Sadlers but the membership team is not in the same sphere of excellence as the dance companies that perform in the venue.

Went to see Pina Bausch dance show here. Excellent customer service and this theatre hosts the best dance performances. P.s. Always sit in the dress circle for dance performances as you get the best views. You’re welcome :)

My previous experience of Sadlers Wells has always been excellent, but I feel that the Snowman performance I watched 29th Dec 24, was disappointing. The boy who plaid James looked lost and lacked in energy; I think my own children could have performed the dance moves with better fines. Maybe because this was a 11am performance Sadlers Wells produced their C or D team. Some of the adult performers like the ballerina was great, however, many of the adults also seemed to lack energy or any fines to their dance. This is not the standard that I expect from a major company like Sadlers Wells. I heard very good things about 'The Snow Man' and I left disappointed. I understand that the 11am show is filled with small children which is absolutely fine and expected, however, you should have someone monitoring the traffic going continuously in and out at the door. The constant banging could have been stopped by either a slower shutting door or by someone monitoring the door. I really would not recommend this show to anyone, quite the opposite. This is for the show, the orchestra was absolutely brilliant.

Paid £184 to see The Snowman. Sadly, ended up getting the flu. They won't help move my tickets to another time. Really unaccommodating, despite being returning customers. Very disappointing

After listening to a review of A Chorus Line on Radio 4's Front Row earlier, I tried to book tickets and I had trouble selecting the £45 tickets for a few performances on several days. Then, within seconds, the same tickets for the same seats and the same performance suddenly went up to £60. I have had many wonderful experiences at SW over the years but this is a new one and leaves a bad taste.

I was stuck inside for 3 years with shielding and then a foot injury. This is the first theatre I’ve been to in a long time to see Alvin Ailey dance theatre. The show was impeccable from start to finish. I had such a lovely time talking with the wonderful staff, having so much fun and felt like a part of something for the first time in a long time. I can’t fault the theatre and what they do for dance. Without it there would be no Sponsorship or help for small companies. If young people want to save the planet, then maybe they should get off the mobile phones and social media and get out and do something constructive with their time instead of being the ‘loud crowd’ about the latest thing. I went several times and aim to at least weekly - absolutely loved my time there. Thank you

We love their dance shows.

Sadler’s Wells Theatre has just been attacked in the press by the usual suspects (deadbeats, unemployable middle class youth, washed-up actors and miscellaneous activists) for accepting sponsorship from Barclays, which funds a subsidised £10 ticket scheme for young people.
Where have these cretins been for the past 18 months?

Even before COVID, theatres were dying a death.

In case these gold-medal winning halfwits hadn’t noticed, generous sponsorship deals are thin on the ground, so telling the theatre to look elsewhere is quite simply moronic.

Many of the companies they are ‘calling out’ are already attempting to mend their ways and alter the way they do business, but nothing is fast enough for these snowflakes and their temper tantrums.

So much of this is monstrous, childish, attention-seeking behaviour anyway. The desperate desire to seem relevant. Demonstrating you are ‘passionate’ in order to get laid, never mind the actual cause and it’s merits, which in truth, for most of them, is neither here nor there. Could be anything. Dressing up and stamping your hoof is the thing (not the play!).

This petulant action is more likely to kick the theatrical industry when it is down - unsportsmanlike - and in their case self-defeating, actors complicit in the destruction of their own industry, can you believe it? Of course you can. They do it all the time.

And what of youth? Of the minority who regularly attend the theatre they like the affordable tickets and this encourages future theatre-goers.
The very few who would rather stamp their feet and wet the bed can boycott the theatre if they choose; There aren’t enough of them to make any commercial difference, and they probably wouldn’t go to the theatre anyway. Not only politically illiterate!

I would urge Sadler’s Wells to hold firm and not give in to this mindless blackmail. They’ll get bored and attack something else if you just wait them out.
If you give in, they will sense blood in the water and you’ll never hear the end of it. Besides, this is NOT the will of the majority, merely a troupe of over-excitables looking for an easy victory - if their attack makes no headway then their ineffectiveness becomes glaringly apparent to all.

Which would be a good thing.
