Unfulfilled & Opaque Delivery Timelines
**Opaque delays, shifting timelines, and no usable delivery date**
After placing my order in early June and no clarity from the company as to when I could expect the sofas, I repeatedly explained that I needed the couches delivered during the week of July 20 (giving them plenty of lead time). I had to coordinate travel, time away from work, and advance approval from my apartment building, which requires an exact weekday delivery date before movers are allowed inside.
Sabai placed the order on hold until July 17 and told me they would monitor it closely. On July 8, I was told it should ship by the end of the following week or early the week after. Then, on July 16, Sabai disclosed that a production problem had occurred the previous week and that the order was delayed beyond its stated lead time. Even then, Sabai continued providing vague shipping estimates instead of answering the question I had asked repeatedly: When will the furniture actually be delivered?
I spent more than $1,500 changing travel plans, taking time off work, and arranging to be at the apartment based on the timeline Sabai implied. I eventually contacted Metropolitan Warehouse & Delivery myself. They were helpful and confirmed that the order was in their system, but they had not received a pickup date from Sabai. They also explained that delivery would generally take another five to six days after the furniture was received, scanned, and processed.
As of July 23, I still had no pickup date, delivery date, or meaningful status update. Sabai simply said they were “checking with the team.” and has left me hanging for a day and change).
The issue is not just that the couches are late. It is Sabai’s lack of transparency, its failure to distinguish shipping from actual delivery, and its unwillingness to provide the basic information needed to plan for an expensive furniture delivery.
