Great experience, very helpful staff

Always good experience ordering online, very fast and prompt delivery. This time they seemed to be the only place online with a game I wanted in stock - ordered and arrived within 48 hours. Packaged well and in perfect condition.

Only place that I was able to find a copy of Draftosaurus at a reasonable price in the UK. Was unsure whether to order as I had not heard of the business before, but really pleased that I did. Great service overall with quick delivery. However, when I tried to have the item sent to the Isle of Man, as it was a gift - it said that it wasn't a valid postcode. Despite the item being delivered by Parcelforce / Royal Mail - which would have no difference in price to being sent anywhere else in the UK or Channel Islands. Otherwise, I was able to have sent to my address in the South West without issue. So will just send it on - but wish this issue would be fixed.

Two days before my son's birthday his partner told me she couldn't get the game Roam that he had asked for. He is difficult to buy for so I said leave it with me thinking I would soon track one down. However, everywhere had sold out. I found the last one on your website and was very excited. I rang to check it was still in stock and it was. I then needed it urgently and Ian went out of his way to get it into the post that day and it arrived the very next morning. We were so grateful, it was way beyond what we expected and the most excellent service.
We live a long way from Cardiff and Bristol so coming to your shop would be difficult but we will be ordering from you online for our future games. Thank you very much.

Couldn't find a 'must have' board game any where else in the country. Rules of Play got it to me in two days, plus it was in excellent condition. Staff always friendly and helpful, but this was the first time I used their online delivery service. Very pleased.

Very friendly LGS, staff are great for personal recommendations and clearly know what they're talking about when you ask for their advice. Pre-Covid regularly went to FNM and MtG events there, and look forward to doing so again in the future. Great for all kinds of gaming needs.

Proper bricks & mortar Friendly Local Games Store. Everything from the cards and chess up to the best of the new board games. Never had a problem finding what I was after, and being recommended something I didn't know I needed! Pre-Covid, had a great TCG & pub board game night scene, hopefully soon to return.

They have a great relationship with the local community and acknowledge loyal customers, making sure stock is available for events.

RoP are my go-to for board games and TCG products, and I would highly recommend anyone to pay the store a visit and support an independent, brick-and-mortar business.

I'm a longtime TCG and board gamer, and always use Rules of Play. The guys in store are friendly and really know their stuff - I've taken recommendations from them many times when it comes to buying games that are suitable for my younger children.

They always love them.

Rules of Play has a great selection, too. They keep on top of the latest game trends and I find you can usually get hold of just about anything.

If you're into TCGs like myself, there are a number of great staff who know it ALL and can help you out. Not to mention, they run in-store events under usual times- Friday Night Magic is a must.

I've always been satisfied with their service and they offer great prices, too. I'll usually pick up my MtG precons and booster boxes here.

Always helpful staff with such a fantastic breadth of knowledge and willingness to help people get into the hobby. It helps that it’s tucked away in a beautiful little arcade and filled with every game you could hope to find - even if they don’t have in stock, they are happy to help you get hold of it or suggest a game you didn’t even know existed, let alone we’re going to love!

No one's ever too busy to help with recommendations, if items are out of stock then they'll also try to obtain them for you.

Looks like all the negative reviews are from scalpers so ignore them, you won't find a better shop.

I've recently purchased a second board game from Rules of Play (Secret Hitler this time, which is not something you often find yourself typing into Google...) for when we are allowed to socialise after lockdown.

I chose Rules of Play over Amazon etc as I'd prefer my money to go to an independent (yes, it cost a bit more, but that's a personal choice).

In both experiences, the Rules of Play team have been efficient and courteous. They're a good team who are clearly passionate about board games.

I would take any of the negative reviews with a pinch of salt (most of them seem have been responded to by Rules of Play, and it's often down to suspicious activity that could be linked to scalping...anyone who's tried to get a PS5 will understand their caution, especially with items that are high value to scalpers).

I can't fault Rules of Play, and they will certainly get my custom again.

Bought my flesh and blood monarch 1st edition booster box from rules of play. The manager was so helpful and the service and price was 5 star! This will definitely be my go to store for any future purchases for my hobbies.

Been using this shop wherever possible for years. Excellent staff service and communications, safe packaging, and the events they run (pre-pandemic) are fantastic and really help build a community for the hobby in Cardiff.

I've used their in-store and online services dozens of times and have nothing but praise for either. Top quality.
