i tried to reach them for about 2 hours on the phone. I didn't have any answer. When i got an answer on the chat of the company, the person i had in front of me didn't understand at all my problem. If you can i would say avoid that company because it's more problem than you think.

Ich habe extra bis nach meinem Auszug gewartet, um eine Bewertung zu schreiben. Mein Fazit: Absolut empfehlenswert!!! Es ist wirklich schwer, etwas Bezahlbares zu finden, ohne für 100 Besichtigungen oder Interviews anzureisen. Warum machen das nicht mehr Vermieter online?! Bei Roomestate hat alles, wirklich alles, perfekt funktioniert. Ich habe fast zwei Jahre dort gewohnt, und es war genau so, wie es versprochen wurde. Anfangs hatte ich Bedenken wegen der Schlüsselübergabe – aber: Es hat reibungslos geklappt, genauso wie beschrieben. Auch der Auszug war super easy, und die Kaution wurde schnell und vor allem vollständig zurückgezahlt. Ich habe gefragt, ob sie auch in Wien aktiv sind – leider nicht. Sonst wäre ich ohne zu zögern wieder bei ihnen eingezogen!

Extremely bad on communication + liars
Our flat is supposed to get cleaned every 2 weeks, it has been 3 months since the last time they came cleaning. And they don’t answer emails or tickets about it.

I am surprised by the ratings here. I live in Zurich and apart from the telephone support, which is actually difficult to reach, I am very happy. I have always received a quick response by email or in the ticket.
Today a janitor was here to replace some of the joints in the bathroom and replace the shower curtain. We received a new vacuum cleaner within the week when the old one broke down.
What more could you want?

Catastrophic experience.
After arriving at my booked room in Zurich, for which I paid a lot of money compared to other options, I was confronted with an absolute nightmare: there was mold everywhere, in the bathroom, but also in my bed. There was a huge hole in my door and the general state of the building and the apartment was desastrous.

The pictures online were definitely not realistic and must have been altered or old.

The customer support was also not helping. They were very rude and ignored me several times.

2 stars because in the end (after a long time) they at least offered me a better option and i could move to a new room, but it took way too long.

I had an excellent experience with Room Estate! From the moment I moved in until I moved out, they handled everything smoothly, especially when I first arrived in Switzerland. They truly take care of everything and provide support at every step, making the transition easy and stress-free.

Even after I moved out, they continued to help me with questions and issues related to renting apartments and other matters. Their assistance goes above and beyond, even when I was no longer living in their property.

I highly recommend Room Estate to anyone looking for an apartment—whether you're a young professional, student, or someone new to the city or country, they provide outstanding support!

Absolut furchtbar. Ich hatte mich gefreut als ich room estate gefunden habe, aber man muss sagen, dass es schon eine sehr fragwürdige Agentur ist und es einer der schlimmsten Zeiten meines Lebens ist. Bewegen sich zumeist in einer Grauzone und haben ihr Geschäftsmodell darauf aufgebaut, dass man ständig von ihnen abhängig ist und abhängig gemacht wird, wenn man kein Geld bezahlen möchte. Will man sein Zimmer wechseln, verlangen sie 600 CHF zusätzlich.
Möchte man eine Mietauskunft, um diese dem nächsten Vermieter vorzulegen gibt es Extragebühren von 50 CHF. Alles lassen sie sich bezahlen.
Hinzu kommt, dass ein Zimmer in Zürich circa 1200 CHF kosten. Um die Kostenstruktur kurz dazulegen. 200 CHF kostet anscheinend die Putzfrau, die alle 2 Wochen für circa eine Stunde kommt und danach ist es auch nicht sauber.
Auch nach mehrmaligem Beschweren über die Sauberkeit der Wohnung und der Mitbewohner (auch nach mehrmaligen Gesprächsversuchen) wird man von der Agentur nicht ernst genommen und es kommen nur Mails in denen mal wieder die Regeln fürs Zusammenleben erklärt werden.
Mitbewohner provozieren zusätzlich und man lässt mich, als einzige Frau mit 4 Männern zusammenwohnen ohne vorab eine Abklärung zu treffen. Das finde ich schon verantwortungslos.

Wenn ihr nicht über 1200 CHF für eine dreckige Wohnung zahlen wollt, wo einfach irgendwelche Menschen einziehen und es nicht schaffen sich an Regel zu halten, dann sucht euch was anders. Vielleicht auch einfach ein bisschen ausserhalb, aber das ist den Stress nicht wert.

Ich kann auch wirklich nicht verstehen, dass es einem so egal sein kann, welche Menschen in den Wohnung leben und wie sie es hinterlassen, denn eine Kaution macht den Schaden am Image, Reputation und Schäden in der Wohnung auch nicht weg.

I would put zero stars if I could. Worst agency I've ever dealt with. Terrible customer care. I pay for cleaning service which isn't provided. Complained about it several times, also contacting the ceo, but nothing ever changed. My suggestion is stay away from them cause they don't care about you as a tenant but they just care about the money.

They just want to make money.
Very rude manager and don’t respect what is included in the contract (cleaning, taxes, etc.).
To avoid if you don’t want to spend your time fighting with them for your rights.

Do not use Room Estate, it is the worst choice you could possibly make.

1) The price for a room is incredibly higher than the market offer
2) Room Estate is understaffed (not surprise, I wonder why anybody would want to work for scammers that rip off people for a living) so their support is unreachable at all time. If being on hold over the phone for multiple hours before being cut off is not enough, the dedicated app and website are not working as well.
3) They charge 480CHF per lost key (unit), market price for said key is 20CHF in any locksmith office. That is without mentioning they sent out the wrong key twice, resulting in me being locked out. Rather than offering compensation or even apologies, they asked for me to pay 100CHF for the shipment of the wrong keys.
4) Cleaning and other said services included in the price are a joke, nothing will be thorough and you will have to fight for every little thing.

I know setting up in Switzerland can turn out to be discouraging and a pain in the ***, but do not use their services unless you absolutely have to. If so make sure this is not your permanent solution. You have other alternatives.

Total rip off! They rent rooms for more than double the price just because they add some cheap furniture and organize some cleaning personal.

The worst of capitalism

They have a well presented website and many options across switzerland, and it is easy to sign a contract if your income is enough. however their service is not good. For one it is very overpriced for what you get, for a 2 person apartment they make both pay more than the rent of an individual apartment in the same building each! I asked a neighbor and for the price you pay you could rent an individual apartment with utilies for the same price they take. They claim they have a biweekly cleaning service, but its just 5-10 mins every 2 weeks and barely anything gets cleaned, yet you pay an exorbitant amount for this in your rent. For the price they charge you can hire a professional cleaning lady twice per week for 1h. They also advertise many of their rooms with "laundry service" and charge you for it yet you have to pay again when using the laundry machine. Before you move in zero effort is done to give you a presentable apartment, the bedroom is barely cleaned, and the other rooms are left as is. They also previously had a google reviews tab, but they ended up removing it, probably because of how many negative reviews they got. I had an issue before and tried to call their support and even chat, sometimes its not even available. Their website also does not allow you to choose your cookie preferences, as if the overpriced rent isnt enough to cover their costs, they also want to give you targeted cookies.
To conclude don't choose this rental agency unless as in my case, it's your first time moving to Switzerland, if so 3 months is enough and quickly find a different landlord/rental agency, unless you like to pay ~30-35% more than market price for a mediocre badly-serviced apartment from their listing. Roomestate is most likely the worst rental agency in Switzerland.

Booked a non-smoking room but was given a room with smokers. Call centre was nice but not always easy to reach when problems arise and sometimes provided wrong information. Would never recommend it to anyone.
