I bought an Asus ROG Strix and was happy with it for the first six months. But then I started having problems playing Overwatch. The laptop would shut down mid-game for no apparent reason. A year later, it started blue-screening even while watching YouTube. I think the performance is advertised as higher than it actually is.

Slowpoke

My motherboard has broken somehow during the transport. I sent a mail/ticket requesting a replacement using my valid s/n motherboard. Has been a whole week, while I was told they will reply under 48 hours, nothing except asking for review/opinion how it went ? Like ???? You did nothing to fix my problem!

Someone setup an account in ASUS under my name and bought a computer. There is NO telephone number on ASUS's website to contact. A FedEx package was sent to an address in Brooklyn, NY that I tracked and saw a delivery of the laptop. We did file a FRAUD claim and were not responsible but still a very loooong and painful experience. NEVER use ASUS.

Won't honor Warranty

I bout Asus's keyboard (ASUS ROG Strix Scope RX Gaming Mechanical Keyboard, Red Optical Switches) in Oct 2024. It came with a 1 year warranty. When I registered the keyboard, I was informed that the warranty had expired in Sep 2024.
I contacted Asus support, and when they asked for a receipt, I sent the receipt, along with the shipping information. I never heard back from them, and they never responded to when I attempted to follow up on the warranty.

BEWARE LAPTOP MODEL F1605ZA ASUS…

BEWARE LAPTOP MODEL F1605ZA ASUS LAPTOP, Computer caught fire inside my home on my coffee table while Iid was closed and not being used.
The laptop was plugged in, I came home 5 minutes before my home and my 8-year-old Chihuahua Bethoveen were destroyed by fire.
I Contacted Asus who did send a replacement computer after 3 weeks!
Mine was under warranty, also it was a better model than the one that I previously had that caught fire, this is true. Then I asked for smoke damage cleanup to be paid for by Asus, because there was thousands of dollars worth of smoke damage to my home, and $650 worth of fire damage.
Asus agreed to pay the damages if I sent the laptop to them which I did and of course they would not compensate me because it was determined to be started
from an outside source. What tha What? What outside source? No one was home, and the fire department ruled the laptop caught fire because the battery became hot enough to combust. Asus made that up to keep from paying the damages to my home.
The estimated damage from the smoke was b/w $4100 and $7,500 I got two estimates from Servpro, and ServiceMaster which are professional smoke cleaning services.
They refuse to pay any of the money to have the home cleaned up. And use trickery and stall tactics to receive the laptop as well as delay.
I'm going to say this again the computer caught fire on my coffee table in my home, it did not just get hot and melt the plastic it burst into flames and was on fire when I opened my front door to my home, ON FIRE and it was pitch black dark inside my home and Beethoven who is like one of our kids, was in the closet, a smart place to be, but I had to go inside the home three times to find him in pitch black smoke the smoke covered my entire home the mattresses all our clothes all my furniture my HVAC units everything completely covered in black smoke. I had thrown water on the computer, not a good idea by the way, then throw the computer outside the home into the yard to put it out. Asus refused to pay for any of it. What if it would have been at night and me and my kids and our dog were all asleep in our home? We may have all succumbed to smoke inhalation and then most certainly worse, I've read more than one article with this very incident has occurred and many many laptop fires have started because of overheating batteries. I am trying to warn the public and here is the model number. Laptop model F1605ZA. BEWARE OF THIS COMPUTER AND COMPANY PLEASE. Get this, I only ask for $5,000 from Asus, that only covers the cleaning of the home that does not cover any furniture any clothes any mattresses that will just covers the walls the ceiling and the carpet. They did not offer to pay for any hotels which we were displaced and still are,, AND STILL ARE!! WE ARE STAYING AT MY MOTHER'S HOME. We're a poor family blue collar hard-working, barely making ends meet as it is family. And we ask for nothing but our home to be cleaned so we could move back in. We did not ask for anything else nothin, only the smoke removed from our home so we do not become sick and sit on furniture that turns our clothes black. Please understand this we did not ask for 20 or 30 or 40 or $50,000 but 5, FIVE. LOL FIVE. A outside source would mean that someone broke into my home and did what? set fire to my laptop with a match a torch a magnifying glass? What outside source? Pathetic please be aware before you buy this model F1605ZA. I would advise against buying one from them at all. I've never sued anyone before, but now I see why people do.

How would I describe my experience

How would I describe my experience? I paid 315 USD for this motherboard when I bought it. I just wanted to buy "quality" goods... Well, it goes like this... I WILL NEVER BUY ASUS AGAIN. Let me sum it up: I have an ASUS monitor at home for 1,350 USD - I must point out that it does NOT have normal color display and it cannot be fixed. Most of the scenic modes are literally a tragedy. It suffers from the so-called glow effect. I bought an ASUS laptop for 1,980 USD... during one year it was in for repair 4 times, each for 30 days... I must say all of them were successful - they replaced the cooling system, they replaced the motherboard, but the problem was not solved... Already during the third repair, I found out from the online community that at the time of purchase, ASUS had already known for 6 months that they were selling faulty goods. Even so, it did not deter me from buying this motherboard again(!) from ASUS. Everything was fine until I got a NAS and plugged my CAT6A cable into this motherboard. It would never have occurred to me that a motherboard that had been working properly all along could be faulty as soon as you switch it to 2.5GbE. Of course, I thought it was a faulty cable, a faulty new NAS, or a software error, so I bought a 2.5GbE switch. The same problem persisted the entire time. I bought a USB hub with 2.5GbE, plugged the cable into it, and everything was fine. At that moment, it "clicked". No faulty cable, switch, NAS. Yes! I even bought new network cables. I pinged the NAS from my laptop (via WiFi, where I would eventually expect dropouts) and via cable from this motherboard... well, what do you think? Dropouts via the network cable from the motherboard... When I knew the motherboard was faulty, I sent it in for repair - successfully. They returned it saying they had repaired it... I respect that they re-soldered a chip on the motherboard - if they manage it, it's great. ASUS successfully repaired a motherboard like this for me years ago. I had it at home for about 24 hours... I tested it. Same defect. So they sent me a supposedly repaired product that shows the same defect? Yes, indeed... So I sent it back to them. The claim was rejected. Times change, people in companies change, and what used to be quality and quality service simply no longer applies today. Do you want to buy a quality laptop? I recommend Lenovo. Do you want a quality motherboard? I recommend Gigabyte. Do you want a quality monitor? I recommend HP. SIMPLY NOT ASUS! And this was the last product I ever bought from ASUS, and I had a ton of their products and regularly work with competing brands! It's just something to put on display, because for me, it's overpriced and unusable junk...

A éviter

Worst loyalty program ever

A few years ago I discovered that ASUS has a loyalty program. They called it ROG (Republic of Gamers).

I thought: "why not?". I registered. I entered the serial numbers of my ASUS products. I participated in all the activities available to me that the company organised. I visited their website every day.

Unfortunately, I cannot recommend anyone to repeat my experience. Why?

1) For several months I had problems with their website. I found temporary solutions on my own, but they worked every other time. At some point, I despaired and contacted the technical support. They listened to me and promised to contact me as soon as they find out something. I am still waiting for their answer (since August 17, 2022)...

2) The levels and points accumulated for participating in the program burn out after a year. I wanted to spend it on something I'm really interested in, and ended up losing almost everything. That is, participating in ROG you will have a difficult choice: just lose points or spend them on nonsense. You will be disappointed either way.

3) Rewards rarely appear, are expensive and sell out quickly (sometimes in a few hours). ASUS warned me a month ago that I would lose points. So I began to come twice a day to get at least something. During July, only such awards appeared: merch that was not interesting to me (which was instantly sold out) and a game that was not interesting to me (I could not get it either. It needed to take through a site that is not available in my country).

Dear ASUS. You have gotten your points back. Please tell me now how can I get back the time I spent on you?
