We Dutchies have been travelling 6 weeks in New Zealand, we started in Auckland and went to both islands to return to Auckland again. On this trip several things happened, but Mariana Wagner made our Trip great: when we had a stone in our brake on a sunday-afternoon (that made a terrible noise by the way), we could talk to a mechanic. When our fridge was not working all the time, we could visit the garage and they repaired it. There were more things that she helped us with, such as a new CD-player. So we followed our journey singing along with the music we played.

When we lost our key of the campervan we have made an extra key for you and took care of the campervan with even greater care. It is a very nice car, small enough to park everywhere and it is driving good and steady.

Road Runner Rentals is not a legit company DO NOT RENT from them. They are a third party who buys condemned vehicles Milage over 220 thousand and rent out. We five adults arrived in Auckland from overseas for the trip of our lifetime. We were asked to take a shuttle to a random parking spot with cars parked. There was one camper van parked in this spot and we were told that is our vehicle. It was old and not safe to drive either. Tires were worn out inside was like 20 years old seats were coming off seat belts were tight etc etc. We requested what was agreed to us with our booking and they did not have any more vehicles. They refused to refund us the money when we wanted a cancellation. Our vacation is a disaster. Please do not rent from Road Runner Rentals they are a scam.

My family and I rented a campervan for the holiday of our life. We picked up the supposedly self-contained campervan in Auckland. We had to wait for 2 hours since the vehicle was not ready yet. During the cleaning they found a number of issues which they subsequently tried to fix. The people were very nice but couldn’t repair some of the problems, most importantly the door for the shower/toilet. We were lucky because they had an identical other campervan in the compound which they provided to us. Then they forgot to give us the table and chairs for sitting outside which they subsequently took for other campervans in the compound. After we left we found that the GPS they had provided us at a cost of $ 50 wasn’t working. So we returned and requested another one. This one was very old and we found it was unusable because the maps were outdated and most locations couldn’t be found in the GPS. From then on we were plagued with problems, just to mention a few, the battery for the on board systems was almost dead, so if the motor wasn’t running, there was no power. There was no water in the car when we departed, the awning wasn’t working, the waste water wasn’t emptied, the gas bottle was empty, curtains were missing, AC wasn’t working, the chemical toilet was leaking, there was a problem with the suspension. Most importantly was the problem with the steering, because the car was not aligned properly I fought the steering wheel during the 3,000 km I drove the car. Then, upon my return home I found that the company charged me $ 500 for unexplained costs. I have contacted them several times asking for an explanation but they don’t bother to respond and I know I have the correct email as I corresponded with them through the same email address. I am now in the process to try to recover the funds they charged to my credit card without explanation. A large part of our expensive holiday was ruined due to all problems we faced during and after. Please take my advice pay a little more and get one of the newer vehicles from the established larger companies, definitely stay away from Road Runner Rentals. The slightly better price you get is not worth the hassle and problems. They are a relatively small company and have old cars (ours had done almost 300,000 km) with many problems and they don’t fix them until you complain. Then you’ll have to sacrifice part of your holiday to get the problems resolved.
