Great products, poor customer service

Recently purchased a great pair of shoes from here but was disappointed when it took more than a week for them to be despatched.

When chasing to find out what had happened after a week without update, my query was passed to an annoying AI assistant bot that responded with the tracking link and no actual explanation.
These products aren’t cheap and they change extra for delivery and returns so I think they should consider investing in an actual consumer service teams instead.

Good experiences with revivo

Love Vivo and have purchased 2 pairs on revivo a few months ago. 2 separate purchases. Arrived promptly, in the condition specified. Wear them all the time. No complaints.

Not even one star

Not even one star. Bought a pair of shoes and they are filthy and broken. I now have to pay for the postage to return as apparently there’s no fault! All this for £32. this website is a total scam and customer service terrible. Stay away. Seems I’m not the only one thinking this !

Terrible customer service

After spending a while waiting for the shoes I wanted to appear on the revivo site (not in stock on the main site) I then ordered two pairs in my size when they became available.

One pair delivered in the wrong size, contacted revivio and the only resolution was a refund, no offer of the shoes I actually paid for.

Very unhappy with the service and wont be purchasing any more vivo shoes, or telling anyone how good your products are, because your customer service is terrible.

Edit two weeks later - absolutely impossible to get my money back and having to claim it back on my credit card

You do not deserve one star.

I recently left a 1 star review as I believed my order had been cancelled and my card refunded without being contacted. It appears I jumped the gun based on listening to other people's experiences. I received an email just after making the review saying they had just shipped. They literally arrived the following day.(Today). They were exactly as ordered and like brand new! I have to apologize for my first review and have now changed my stars from 1 to 4. I hope Revivo get there customer communication up to speed to match their product reputation. Most customers will understand about delays and mistakes etc. if communication is efficient and they don't feel left hanging. Revivo offer a premium product, they need to make their customers feel valued. If they do this, I believe their trust pilot stars will shoot up.

I ordered some boots today and saw the order had my old address on. Got in touch and they say they can't change the address. On the Revivo site it shows my new address so I can't change it. I also gave them an order number for a repair I sent in earlier this week, which goes to my correct (new) address. They acknowledge the other order goes to the correct address. But say the order to my old address should be cancelled as they can''t change the address. If I were to cancel I couldn't update the site to my new address as the website shows my billing and delivery address as the new address.... Super annoying and unprofessional. I'm a big fan of the shoes but feel sorry for the people who have to work in the system which sends them out...

Very poor quality build

Very poor quality build. Got the resole and it split within 6 months. Shame because vivos are the most comfortable shoes I’ve tried.

Bad service

Agreed, horriffic client service. Maybe makes sense to order to or from the UK, but not to the EU. It's hard and expensive to arrange the return shipment. Website is messy and doesn't work well, the instructions are messy and unclear, and client service is not supportive. I got charged twice and they refuse to pay back the return I couldn't use due to how their instructions are formulated. It's not worth it. It's a pity because I really like the concept, and the shoes themselves are really well-made!

I’m really sorry to hear about your experience. From what you’ve described, I can completely understand how frustrating this must have been, especially with being charged twice and then struggling with the return process on top of that.

Returning from the EU should not feel overly complicated or unclear, and the instructions and website experience you’ve mentioned clearly haven’t worked as they should here.

On the customer service side, we’ve recently brought this fully in-house. While that’s already improving things, there have been some teething issues across systems, contact volumes, and processes. That’s not an excuse, just some transparency, and we’re actively working to get things back to where they should be.

Really disappointed

Really disappointed. Trainers cancelled and shoes so big I would class as a fault. Would not ever use this company again or recommend to anyone. £10 down with no shoes to show for it.

In terms of the cancelled order, this can sometimes happen at the payment stage if a promotion or code has reached its usage limit. When that happens, the system cancels the order automatically rather than it being manually done by us, but you should always be clearly informed.

Regarding the sizing, what you’ve described doesn’t sound right and isn’t the experience we want you to have.

I’ve requested your details via Trustpilot so we can look into both the cancellation and the £10 cost and get this resolved for you.

Trying to return the item and still pay for parcel
No customer service and misleading information

Dishonest pricing tactics.

Long time fan of Vivobarefoot and Revivo but the latest sales tactic on this site is downright dishonest.

I challenge you to find any pair available for the advertised price on the initial product thumbnail. As soon as you select colour, size and condition the price jumps considerably. Try hunting for any pair actually available at the listed price…..

Sometimes there’s only one colour, size and condition in stock of a model and the price still jumps up when that pair is selected. Absolutely unforgivable in this situation and false advertising if ever I saw it.

Won’t be retaining my custom whilst they operate like this.

I have wanted to try Vivo for a long…

I have wanted to try Vivo for a long time and thought it would be even better to try revivo. Ordering was simple and I was pleased with how that went. Sadly the shoes were damaged and unwearable so I used the return portal to send back. The process was very easy. I received a refund notification via email and refund was in my account swiftly. I am sad not to have the shoes but happy with the service which is important.

Bad bad bad customer care

Final update: After pursuing them further and finally connecting with a human on live chat, Vivo eventually provided the discount code they promised. Thank you.

Update: 10 days after the original response and sending my information via their request. There’s still no update—much less resolution— from Thomas or Vivo, despite the excuses, and how he’ll “personally” look into it. I’m trying to remain patient, but this is ridiculous.

OP: I’ve owned several pair of vivobarefoot shoes, and was planning to buy another when I learned of their Revivo program. I mailed in my old boots with a promise of a discount on future shoes (order no VF004-1-l7o50). Once I sent the package I never heard another word. I can’t get a human to contact me, only AI bots, which just copy and paste what I already wrote to them. Do I even want to buy new shoes from this company?

Firstly, thank you for taking part in our ReVivo take-back programme. Sending your old boots back to be responsibly processed rather than ending up in landfill is something we genuinely value, so I’m really sorry you’ve felt left in the dark after doing so.

If you’ve mailed your boots in and haven’t received any follow-up or voucher, that’s understandably frustrating. You held up your side of the promise, and we need to honour ours.

We’ve recently brought our customer service fully in-house. While this is an important long-term step for us, the transition has come with technical teething problems and backlogs, which have unfortunately affected response times and, in some cases, voucher processing. That context doesn’t make your experience acceptable, but it does explain why communication may have stalled.

Sent walking boots with thermal…

Sent walking boots with thermal inserts. As didn’t use them as I away in a hot climate have only now noticed that they don’t have thermal inner sole replacements and the laces were new but too short to go through all the eyes . The boots were cleaned and new soles glued on. That’s all. They did accommodate two different sizes (sadly I have an expensive difference between my foot sizes) but they knew this and were happy to do it before starting the job. Pity as I’m a fan. Another repair is to be comme ted tomorrow so I’ll let you know if the service is improved

Zero follow up in the Revivo take back scheme.

Sent back an old pair of vivobarefoot shoes a month ago. Never received the discount code. Impossible to speak to customer service and chatbot logged the request with no follow up. Such a shame because my entire family is a fan of vivobarefoot shoes.

EDIT following original review: Customer Services from VivoBarefoot did get in touch as promised and provided me with the missing discount codes. I really appreciate that they took the time to do this - please just get rid of that dreadful Revivo ChatBot support, which was totally hopeless!! I have upgraded my review from one to three stars as the issue was rectified, albeit with some pain.
I sent back my old shoes under the Revivo scheme but never received a discount code. The worst aspect is the chatbot/AI operated customer service which is totally useless. This scheme is clearly not working and is misleading.

Not fit for purpose, shockingly poor customer service

I paid £80 for the “resole and refresh” service for my boots, with the expectation that I would then get several more years of wear out of what were, originally, a good pair of shoes. This service promises new outsoles and repair of any loose stitching. Unfortunately, after only a few months wear, first the glue and then the outsole stitching failed, leaving a significant hole in the side of one of the boots. Furthermore, the stitching of the leather seams on both boots has now failed. Customer service has been shockingly frustrating and seems to be solely operated by AI, which helpfully responded telling me I could pay to use their repair service. Despite sending a number of emails over the past few months I’m yet to get any meaningful response or resolution. I am happy to spend a little more money for sustainable products and services if the product then functions as expected, however this service has completely failed and feels like daylight robbery. I wish I’d just bought a new pair of boots. Very frustrated and disappointed.

We’re really sorry to read this. After investing in a Resole and Refresh service, you should absolutely expect more life from your boots, not further failures within a few months. That’s understandably frustrating.

The service is designed to extend the lifespan of well-loved pairs by replacing the outsole and repairing loose stitching, so what you’re describing is not the experience we want anyone to have. This needs properly reviewing.

To add some transparency, we recently brought customer service fully in-house. It was the right long-term move for us, but the transition came with technical issues, system changes and backlogs that meant some customers experienced slower or inconsistent responses. That is not the level of support we aim to provide, and we’re actively working to get fully back on top of this.

We would really like to investigate your repair and resolve this properly. I’ve requested your details so we can look into the original service, the workmanship and the communication you’ve received.

Horrific customer service

Horrific customer service. I was led to believe I could send my old vivos for a dsct voucher. I went on the website and got a QR generated by them. They've never sent me that voucher or any communications. I've tried everything but there's no way to reach them. I know see in their website that they aren't accepting anymore old vivos ... and I don't understnad why they generated a code for me then! I'm still waiting for their response

To clarify, when our take-back programme reaches capacity, we pause new submissions on the website. In some cases, QR codes may have been generated shortly before that pause was implemented, which understandably creates confusion if communication doesn’t follow quickly enough. That’s frustrating, and we appreciate why you’d question it.

We’re also sorry you’ve struggled to reach us. We recently brought customer service fully in-house. While this is a positive long-term step, the transition came with system changes and backlogs which led to slower response times than we’d like. Customer service improvement

Update:
They were quick to respond and resolved my issue after they sorted out their customer service system. My refund was finally issued despite the fact the the courier has lost the returned package.

So far my new pair fits and feels great

Original review:
I emailed to check if they have received my returned item as I could see that it has been collected according to Royal Mail. I got a generic email in response but managed to eventually get to an actual human. After providing them with my email and order number that they requested (which I'm pretty sure was already included in the initial contact form), they ghosted me.
I have also tried emailing another support email address I've found but no response. It's been several months now.

If only I'd read these reviews before ordering...
