Terrible. Do not order from this company…

Poor quality garment and worse customer service. This garment came out of the box damaged. Fabrication was nothing as described on the website and unfortunately item was non-returnable. They did grant me an exception to return the piece for in store credit but I do not trust this brand to uphold the quality for what they are asking it’s consumers to pay. As a apparel buyer myself this was a very disappointing experience all around. I would suggest if you want to try anything from this brand, purchase from a third party sight with better customer service and quality control like revolve to name 1. Do not shop direct from sight and do not purchase if you care at all about getting something worth the amount you will pay. If I could give negative reviews I would.

Only 72 hour return policy

My wife ordered jeans she was down sick with Covid. Did not try them on for four or five days when she tried them on they did not fit right she wanted to return them but they have 72 hour return policy after the delivery time insane.

Not worth the money …

I placed an order for the beautiful white Electra dress in January. I received the dress with one of the straps broken. The dress is stunning but the straps are pearls and we’re connected by literally a thread. (Not joking, ONE thread) they didn’t have my size online anymore so their customer service said they had one in their New York store and they would ship it to me once I sent mine back. The dress from New York came not wrapped in anything. ($500 silk white dress) And had oil like stains all down the front of it. I sent pictures and they said they would reimburse me for dry cleaning if I sent them my bill. Took to three different dry cleaners and none felt comfortable with the fabric to get the stains out. I spent $500 and they offered me a $50 reimbursement. Even if I knew the dress was $50 I would have never bought it with oil stains down the front. So disappointed and I will never buy a dress from this brand again. Be weary buying especially at this price point because I received two bad items and am out $500.

I placed an order on Nov.25, but the order never arrived. They said they are not responsible. They took my money. After 3 months, they told me that they will not give me my money back; they will not send the items again. They stole my money. They are the worst company.

WORST Customer service EVER!!!
I ordered two dresses and a cardigan. It did not come in time& I left for my trip and when I returned, I had a Retrofete box. I attempted to return the items right away, but I guess they had a strict 14 day return policy. WITH 0 acceptions. Maybe people wear and return?! Either way, she could see I was a new customer.
I asked for an acceptance to this policy via email, and even called and received a manager, they would not budge. I have never dealt with such lame customer service, with 0 consideration. I felt like they thoug hurtI bought the dresses, wore them and wants to return? I even told them they were in the original box, unopened! I have two dresses and a cardigan and I am unable to return exchange or alter to even make a wearable. I will never ever order from Retrofete or wear their clothes ever you just can’t function in a world like this with such bad customer service!
I have never ordered from this site before and most places have at least a 30 day return policy some even have a 60 day , either way I am a first time customer and because of the situation I will never order from Retrofete again. There’s too much competition and way too many beautiful dresses and way better customer service for me even to consider wearing their crap. Buyer beware. Imagine if you received a damaged dress?! They wouldn’t do the right thing! Eewwwww

Hurtful Quality

I’ve heard of Retrofete by looking at their dresses on the Nordstrom website. The Nordstrom website did not have my size so I decided to look at their dresses directly through their site. All the dresses looked adorable and I decided on a pink Mimi Rib Knit Dress. I paid $41.00 for expedited shipping since I needed this dress for Valentine’s Day and was super excited to wear it. I thought by paying $300+ dollars that I was going to get a quality dress. The package arrived today and while the dress has a good design, and does run true to sized, the quality is TERRIBLE. This dress is the worst I’ve ever purchased, it is ribbed but it severely scratches my skin. I mean, I tried this thing on for at most 2 minutes, and my skin felt like it was on fire. As soon as I took it off, it scratched my back and my arms. I have never felt something as bad as this. It’s literally sandpaper on your body. The dress is made up of 60% Rayon, 32% Nylon, 3% Spandex, 5% Metallic and while I have worn Rayon and Nylon, I have never had something like this happened. This company has AWFUL return policies and do not take any accountability or responsibility for their terrible items. For the price point, you would think you would honor when your items are faulty. The pictures look good but I now see how misleading they are. I will never purchase from this site again and will never recommend to anyone. I wish I could have read these reviews prior to purchasing or purchasing from reputable companies like Nordstrom who do take responsibility when a product is faulty!! Totally disgusted!!!!

Terrible condition

Unfortunately a close friend received a dress with a gaping hole in the middle. Definitely not in condition to wear and disappointing to have spent that much on such bad quality. Hopefully we will be responded to in a timely manner but some reviews say otherwise. Really disappointed as it was advertised as a beautiful dress.

HORRIBLE. What company charges for returns and makes it this complex? I will NEVER order again. This is so dated and old school.
Take yourselves over to “revolve and forward” free express shipping and free returns! They even send you a label.

Sent wrong size of item. Dress did not look new, and was disgustingly cheaply made. Wouldn’t buy for $10 for it let alone $600. Customer service was not helpful either. Don’t trust this company nor like their products.

Do not do business directly with…

Do not do business directly with retrofete if you want their merchandise. If you really have your heart set on something, find it through a stockist like Saks, Revolve, or FARFETCH, etc. Retrofete’s returns policy is arcane and they will penalize you for returning by keeping $20 for no reason and claim it’s a processing fee (unheard of when returning other luxury designers’ and brands’ merchandise). For that arbitrary $20 fee, you will still wait about one full month before your refund is processed. So greedy to profit off of a returns process which will be commonly encountered when shopping online. Customer service is not the most insightful. So much follow up for a refund that should’ve issued way faster for such a ridiculous ‘returns processing fee’. Deceptive and greedy.

The customer service is absolutely horrible

The customer service is so disrespectful. I told them I couldn’t return the dress because I missed the 14 day deadline because of my moms funeral and they said they couldn’t do anything it was past deadline. Awful company. Awful. Never again!!!!!

Poor quality and even worse customer service

Agree with other reviews—not the best quality and absolutely unbearable customer service. I purchased a white sequin wrap dress and wore it for 1 hour at the end of my wedding reception. 10 minutes after changing into it the inside tie broke off causing me to have to hold the dress closed for the remainder of my wedding so I didn’t flash everyone. Annoying in the moment, but not a big deal to repair. I should have taken it as a sign of what was to come.. I didn’t have it dry cleaned since it was barely worn and I stored it away in the provided garment bag out of direct sunlight. I took it out a year later to wear again and noticed certain rows of sequins had turned yellow, like 40% of the dress. I have a degree in textile science and have owned a bridal store, and it was very clear to me that some of the sequins used were from an old batch. Sequins don’t just turn yellow in a year. So I reached out to them regarding the defect and they told me this was uncommon and I should have the dress dry cleaned. Well sequins are plastic and once plastic turns yellow there is no way to reverse it. I told them this and then their reply was that this was not an uncommon issue… ok so which is it? It was very obvious they were just giving me the runaround. I went back and forth with them a few times until finally a manager reached out and told me sorry we can’t help you any further. They didn’t even attempt to make amends or offer anything, they basically said too bad so sad, it’s outside their return window (obviously!). Apparently they don’t care about losing customers. Not only would I never buy from them again, I can no longer recommend them to my brides or anyone else ever again.

I purchased a dress and it went on an additional sale the same day I received the dress. I sent an email- no reply!

I then contacted customer service requesting an adjustment. The representative said they cannot refund - simple as that. I asked why and they said to read the online policy.

Because I got 20% off I cannot get the additional discount they put on the dress overnight.

Shame on you! Your vendors would have honored it and you being the brand denied me an adjustment.

To me it’s not just about the money (which was a substantial difference) it’s about customer service! It doesn’t matter how fabulous your product is if you don’t have the customer service!!!!

You lost a loyal customer- I will never order from you or your brand again and will make sure to let everyone know how you deal with situations like this.

There are too many designers out there with much better product, quality and customer service.

Horrible customer service

Horrible customer service! I ordered 5 white dresses to try on for my wedding after party. After choosing one dress to keep, I returned the others and was told that my returns weren’t accepted because they didn’t meet their standards. The dresses had all tags and were never worn! Since they were white, they had extremely minor makeup stains which apparently did not meet their standards. Their standards are NOT clearly outlined online. Total scam!!!! Their excuse was “you would be upset if you were us and couldn’t resell the dress because of a makeup stain.” Zero regard for the fact that I’m a repeat individual consumer who has to pay over $1000 for white dresses I will never need or wear.

retrofete is misleading

retrofete is misleading. They advertise better quality than what is reality. Their clothing looks cheap and is poor quality. The fit is inconsistent and sometimes runs small. If you try to return anything because it’s not up to your expectations (as shown online) they are firm in 14 days from delivery. No exceptions. I will never buy from them again and would tell my friends the same. It’s cheap poorly made items sold at premium prices.
