Never answer emails from people who interest in an apt.

As an agent I would say that rent hop is unethical. They throw agents under the bus by insisting that agents give away the actual addresses of the listing they are paying to advertise which of course allows the potential client to go right around you. They don't care about that though. They'll do whatever it takes to make a buck. And if that means disrespecting the agents that are trying to make a legitimate living so be it.

Worst Platform Ever. The Renthop team will find any excuse to suspend your account and change their terms and conditions like other users have experienced. And they will simply keep your money. STAY AWAY

RentHop is a scam company!!!

I was using them but stopped since they allow other agents to flag your posts and kill the competition for open listings! on top of that, then they want money so you can post again :))))) $600 deposit + paying to post!!! they call it accurate deposit :))))) stay away people and use the StreetEasy!!!!!

Worst listing site possible. They don’t block fake ads and when an agent who has legit listings reports the fake ads they give issue to that agent by banning them. And then when you want to get back live with listings they ask for additional fee in form of a cashiers check to have it dropped off at there office.

Out of more than a dozen inquiries, only 1 agent actually followed through and showed us a listing. Some agents/listings seem dubious. Buyer beware.

Worse customer service. Zero professionalism. I don't recommend this platform at all. There are plenty other ones out there.

Eli Glaz of Bond Real Estate & Rent Hop is a con artist (If that is his real name or picture on Rent Hop)  He made an appointment to show us an apartment on the Upper East Side - we got there, the apartment had a tenant & he did not show up.  When we called, he answered then hung up after we identified ourselves, then all calls went to voice mail - He tried before the meeting to solicit financial information, which we did not give.   Beware Scammer Con-Artist!!!  Either Rent Hop is not legit or does not vet their agents.  BEWARE!!!

They wanted me to pay $20 to activate my listing. I don't even know what level of traffic your site gets, or what number of inquiries to expect. They wanted me to verify my information by using a passport or a driver's license which seems legitimate however I'm not going to give out such sensitive information to a random website when i'm just looking for a roommate. SKIP.
