I ordered Five Mile Creek Complete Series on March 1st and received an email on March 13th that my purchase had been shipped. I never received my package and emailed Rare Films On DVD four times and never heard anything back from them. I never got my package or a refund. I will never order from this company ever again and I don’t recommend that anyone else buy from them either.

its been almost 2 months since i ordered a dvd from them have got nothing in the mail tried emailing them with no response they also called my grandma trying to scam her out of money stay away from this site if you know whats good for you

I declined an order from Rarefilmsondvd,and was refunded in full on the same day.
I would trust this company as their customer care
values seem very fair and respond very quickly.

I ordered 2 dvd's in November and it said my order was Shipped on December 2nd But I never received it and I was told as soon as it was shipped I would get a tracking number and never did and now nobody responds to my emails

They suck very unprofessional will not refund my money

I ordered a dvd June 30th it's now August 4th and still no dvd and their communication has stopped too. going to call my bank and report it as a fraudulent transaction this is bullshit!!😡

Site says they get movies and shows from direct connections inside studio contacts. What I received was a burned copy of something that someone recorded off of TV. The watermarks from the TV station it was recorded from were there. Definitely not even a copy of the original. I know the originals exist, they just aren't available anymore, I thought this would be a place to get it.

They seem to have tried to upconvert from 480 to 720 and it went poorly.

Disc 1 - the last episode on the disc was cut off in the middle

Disc 2 - the first episode on the disc would not play. VLC player, as well as other players and even ripping software all crashed trying to play the episode.

Disc 3 - the last episode was cut off in the credits.

At that point I stopped.

The discs had one video file that was all the episodes from the disc. They did not appear to even have chapter separations.

The site sells home burned DVDr:s calling them DVDs. This is piracy, and these products are not worth the price of the official DVDs.

I would give 0 stars if I could. I ordered a DVD on December 26th 2024 and it said it would send me shipping info once it had been shipped with a 3-5 business USPS shipping time. I never received any shipping updates and it is now January 8th 2025. I noticed his email was “Redsox###@yahoo.com” (can’t remember the exact numbers on the email) and I knew immediately this must be a scam site but still tried to contact him. I haven’t received an email back so I emailed him again to tell him he will be reported. DO NOT BUY FROM THIS SITE YOU WILL BE SCAMMED!!

I ordered 6 DVDs on Dec 11th. No info since and no response to my emails. Bad customer service at best. Scammers at worst. I'm still hopeful they will arrive, but I would be cautious just based on their unwillingness to communicate with their customers.

Ordered a DVD on Dec. 4th never received a tracking number or any response from them. They take the money and Run.

I haven't received my dvd yet I ordered it on the 7th of Nov it was too close to Christmas

I rarely review an item. Read his description carefully! DVDs are shipped in sleeves. 5 DVDs were jammed into one case. His DVDs seem to only work on older DVD players. They will not work on the newer ones. He did respond to me by phone when I wanted to cancel my order before he shipped it. He claimed to have 20 years experience in this business. I gave him the benefit of the doubt and did not cancel the order. He does not refund!!! The recordings are videos made from his computer/TV.

Another scammed customer. Guess I should have read these reviews first. Bought a 7 disc set of a Hollywood Silent Films documentary. Not one of them played on my perfectly fine Sanyo DVD player. Poorly packaged as well.
One star for quick delivery of pure junk.

I have to admit, I was very skeptical that this was a scam site, but I wanted a very rare series (Five Mile Creek), which was discontinued. Only season 1 has ever been released on dvd. The other two seasons were only released on vhs. I paid for all 3 seasons on dvd. The communication was strange (which is why I didn’t give 5 stars), but I received 16 dvds after about 5 weeks, with all of the episodes on custom burned discs with ‘homemade’ menus.
The quality is decent enough considering the original was vhs. I’m happy that I was able to get this series for such a great price (and dvds take up WAY less space than vhs cassettes). I paid less than $90 CAD after taxes for dvds, compared to hundreds for the vhs on ebay.

Very disappointing. On the plus side: the items ordered turned up fairly quickly, and were the titles ordered, which is the best I can say about them. On the negative side: An outfit that does not appear to care about its customers nor its reputation, sending out films that have poor source material, and with barely legible hand writing all across the discs. Looks to me like a 'bedroom business' run by one person. Far superior copies of the titles I ordered are currently available to watch on YouTube, so the company's website claim, and I quote - "This is the place to come for The highest quality DVDs of old classic movies. You will find that you never need to go anywhere else." is hollow. I have contacted the company to complain and to request a refund, but based on experience so far don't think that is likely to happen. My advice is: save your money by avoiding this company.

Is actually zero stats, I ordered a three pack DVD on the 14th of October.

As of this review I have received nothing, all my emails and attempts at communication go ignored.

I have requested a refund still ignored, I've contacted the FTC and my States AG Office but I'm probably going to have to seek legal action to get my money back.

Avoid this site at all costs clearly a scam and any positive reviews have to be fake and not legitimate.

The Good with the Bad

Start with the good - I finally have copies of a show I had searched months for online, can't find an official boxset anywhere. They start with 10/10 for that.

The bad:
The item's page on their site says this:

Let's go.

"The quality rating is 9 out of 10" - it is in me Sandra Bullocks. I'm 7 episodes in and the best I've seen is a 3 or 4/10. All episodes are low resolution TV rips. Nothing wrong with TV rips, the standard 350MB per SD episode was perfectly fine, and I suspect that's what these are, but whatever converting they've done to burn to disc has compressed the hell out of them. Not good.

"100% in chronological order" - true so far....and thanks I guess?

"Commercial free and unedited" - suspect this is untrue, compressing is a form of editing. You haven't cut away any scenes, but quality was cut, and I don't know why....these are 4.7GB discs, with 4/5 eps on each....no compression necessary.

"This box set contains all 11 DVDs with Custom Artwork" - well, if you consider an all white dvd surface with numbers scribbled on with a Sharpie "Custom Artwork" you're in for a treat :) Maybe there was some artistic statement about the excesses of mankind when 11 discs were shoved into 3 double-sided sleeves?

A bit peeved to be honest, paid 35 bucks plus shipping for this, the seller spent (at most) 5 bucks for blank dvds, 3 sleeves and a shipping envelope, and found the video files freely on the high seas. 30 bucks profit for burning a few ISOs, handy money if the orders are coming in.

But back to my original point - I now have a copy of one of my fav obscure tv shows, credit where credit's due, I'm still enjoying watching it :) Perhaps offer a download option in future though, would cost you even less to provide and customers might get higher quality vids ;)
