Great tap, no problems at all!

We just got our new tap from Aqua taps. We were a bit sceptical if the tank/ boiler will fit under our cupboard but it did! The boiler is smaller than expected.
We have been searching for a tap for couple of months now but we were never really satisfied ( design/ appearance/ price etc). We finally decided to try aqua taps.
We went for the 4 in 1 pull out one in black colour and it is amazing!
We are super happy with our choice and the installation instructions were straight forward. The only problem we found was that on the boiler there was an E3 error when we connected the hot pipe water to the boiler, meaning that the tank was not filling up. Everything else was working alright and we had filtered cold water ad well as non filtered hot and cold water. All pipes were connected.
We reached out to aqua taps support team and spoke with Sean McKean who instantly guided us through after sending him a photo of the boiler. We initially thought maybe there was an issue with the boiler but it turned out we just had to remove the white caps from the boiler to properly connect the hot pipe onto the boiler (so embarrassing) and now everything works perfectly! We would strongly recommend aqua taps :)

Aquataps are extrememly well made and easy to install. We have had our digital tap now for over 6 months and we would not be without it. Staff are very helpful and the replacement filter process is easy

unfortunately I feel I can't recommend Aqua taps for 2 reasons. 1. is a design issue, after using the boiling water, the feed (pipe) for the normal cold tap runs through the same feed, so if you use the cold tap after the boiling, you can burn yourself as residue hot water remains in the feed. Other brands I have used have a separate feed for the boiling water to stop this. myself and my wife have burnt ourselves many times. We do not let our children near the tap unless we are there.
2. is our boiler gained a fault just outside of its warranty, upon inspection I found the part I believed to be at fault (sensor) spoke to aqua taps, to see if they could help or if they could sell me the small part required, (they did ask me to try fitting a different part, this did not fix the issues) they could not sell me the sensor but offered me a replacement boiler and as 'good will' reduced this to £199! it appears from other reviews this is standard response & again just outside of warranty. fishy!
I have since found the sensor myself online for £2.50 and repaired the boiler myself.

The price of the pull out 4 in 1 tap is very reasonable compared to others. The product. The design. The delivery was prompt. 😀

Price of the CO2 cylinder is high. So won’t use the sparkling water machine. 😩

Yes straight forward all good

Great tap with lots of features. Customer service was good offering me advise on the CO2 canisters for sparkling water and filters when I called.To ensure warranty you need to subscribe to their filter change package which isn’t fully clear on adverts. I think this is good anyway as it helps you track change of filter. This is a DIY job if you are competent and the video was easy to follow. Get the electrics done prior to fitting the unit. I also added a vent supplied before fitting the tap in to the back of my kitchen unit as it has false wall away from brickwork My kick board has quite a big gap at the top so airflow seems okay and units/cupboard not too hot. If this does become the case I will add kickboard vent in same style to freezer unit existing in kitchen. The video however shows a mock up kitchen with access to the back of the cupboard. In reality this is not the case. Plan out filter position and water manifold/distribution unit after fitting the tap to sink when you can see length of hoses to them in cupboard. When fitting the tap it’s easier if you have helping had to pull all the hoses through as it’s heavy and fiddly to do on your own. It also makes tightening easier. Put units also in place in cupboard before you make any connections. When you work out best locations (as there are two units) you can fit a lot of the pipes to the manifold/water distribution unit outside the cupboard. Watch the video in full and work out which. This needs a minimum of 1000mm unit and you’d struggle with smaller cupboard to get everything in easily. The product is very well made and the tap itself is very attractive in nickel finish. I have only had this in for several days so only rated 4 stars as can’t say how it will be long term. If you aren’t going to use the sparkling water feature a lot then the 4-1 tap is a lot cheaper and another reason for 4 stars as tap is double the price. However compared to other manufacturers it’s good price. I research everything I buy and read reviews like this to make sure product and company are good. The decision was good as it stands so far. The heater unit needs turning up to 98 degree as it set lower at setup. I bought 2 CO2 canisters suitable for soda stream ( blue type with screw nozzle) from Amazon at £35 for the 60 litre type. You can get this refilled from some places local at about £13-15 each. The lock feature on digital display needs bit of care to unlock. I’ve found if you hold finger slightly more to top of the symbol it works best as I think you hit the other symbols below if you don’t and it won’t unlock. But this makes it very safe. The unit is slightly noisy on heat up but it’s not on for long and is quieter than a kettle. Fingers crossed it remains a good buy. I recommend you have a good look if you are in for buying one of these taps. I will come back and add progress review in 6 months after filter change and maybe consider rating I’ve given.
