I tried other AI platforms to code my strategies. For someone with absolutely no coding knowledge, Quantpad has been the best so far. I joined recently, but haven't experienced any of the bugs or glitches reported in the other reviews. (will update if anything changes)

The owner actually responds back to his messages which is hella convenient and recently there has been a complete new patch which changed the entire GUI and it looks soo much better now
I am very happy about this and the fact that this is a improving product+ The new GUI and usage tab are amazing
and personally Ive used the product havent encountered many problems whilst using it and when I did I went to the server and got it fixed with community members helping me
oh and it saved me a unreal amount of time on back-testing because i just need to explain and let it fix it out instead of having to manually go through this wish I got this months earlier
LASTLY : the projects tab is amazing like holy it is soo good to use and it was able to give me the exact RR that gives me the most EV
the prop firm monte carlo shows me which strategy is the best to use for props because im not trading live funds
and the coding tab is the holy grail for me cause it created my current strategy

Thanks for the feedback. I understand why QuantPad may have felt limited compared to general coding tools at the time this review was written.
Since then, the platform has changed substantially. QuantPad is no longer just a chat interface around code generation — the current version includes expanded historical market data, on-platform execution, a virtual project filesystem, widgets, artifacts, and a much more complete research workflow built specifically for trading and quantitative analysis.
In particular, we’ve since added years of intraday OHLCV data, L1 history, and L2/L3 history across CME products and US equities. That doesn’t change your v1 experience, but I do want future readers to know that this review refers to an earlier version of the product, not the current platform.
ideation feature is useless just a worse version of codex. when you write a long prompt to the ai it crashes the site and you need to force quit. usage limits are very small and makes it unusable I use the monthly usage in 3-4 days. very laggy and writes a lot of errors and bugs when it writes code. price is bad for what it offers take your 60$ and use it on Quantconnect.com way better and it actually doesnt crash and you can see your backtest results without running out of monthly usage in 3 days. the "code" feature is just a re-vamped codex/claude code that is told to code pine script. ideation is unusable unless you create small undefined strategy. in short quant pad is practically unusable as of now and for the price your better of going to another quant site if I could get a refund I would.

This review refers to an earlier version of QuantPad, and I’m sorry you had this experience. Several of the issues you raised — stability, long prompts, execution, usage limits, and the separation between ideation/code workflows — were real things we needed to improve.
Since then, we’ve rebuilt the platform substantially. QuantPad v2 now uses a project-based virtual filesystem, on-platform file execution, improved chat and artifact handling, expanded market data access, and a much more capable workflow for research, coding, and iteration. The product today is materially different from the version described in this review.
That said, I understand the frustration, especially if you were running into crashes or usage limits at the time. If you still have an unresolved support or billing issue, please reach out directly and we’ll review it.
Quantpad really reduced the barrier to entry for me and has been pretty easy to get the hang of. Honestly, could have used this years ago.

When this review was written, QuantPad’s coding workflow was still much earlier-stage and primarily focused on Pine Script generation. It was not agentic, did not exist in a virtual file system like it does now, did not have on-platform execution, etc.
Since then, we’ve completely rebuilt the coding experience. QuantPad v2 now has a much more capable agentic workspace, project-based file system, on-platform execution, improved debugging/iteration workflows, and support for more complex research and development tasks.
I understand why the earlier version may have felt limited for anything beyond basic strategies. That feedback is part of what pushed us to rebuild the platform, and we’d encourage you to take another look at v2.
Proper tutorial videos were promised and never delivered. Reached out to support for a refund until that was released and I was removed from their discord with no further communication.
From my experience the past couple weeks, I’ve been extremely impressed with QuantPad. You get well over a decade of 1-minute market data, keep in mind data that would normally cost thousands, plus built-in AI tools, all for a fraction of the price in comparison. The Ideation page really stuck out to me, it lets you build and test ideas directly on that data, which noticeably sped up my research. Also, the AI on the Code page is a clear standout. It’s easily better at Pine Script than ChatGPT, Claude, or Gemini, and its auto-fix feature has consistently caught and corrected errors instantly, no copying into TradingView just to debug. That alone has saved me hours. If you build trading strategies, QuantPad is an easy first choice. The only thing I will say is that the Python notebooks have RAM limits that make some really heavy machine learning work off-limits, but they recently put out that they’re actively investing in more compute as the platform grows, so that will likely be a nonissue in the near future.
Has the potential to be an incredibly useful platform but as of now it seems limited and underwhelming. Chatgpt can handle everything QuantPad can (from concept development to strategy coding,) with the exception of backtesting and a strategy library (both of which can be done independantly). Decent product, but I would wait for more features to rollout before paying 60$ a month, stick to ChatGPT for now.

I appreciate the balanced feedback. At that stage, I understand why QuantPad may have felt closer to a general AI coding/chat tool with some trading-specific features layered on top.
Since then, we’ve rebuilt the platform into a much more complete research workspace. QuantPad v2 now includes a project-based virtual filesystem, on-platform file execution, expanded market data, improved coding and debugging workflows, widgets/artifacts, and a broader agentic workflow designed specifically for quantitative research and trading strategy development.
The goal has never been to compete with ChatGPT as a general chatbot. The goal is to build a dedicated environment for traders and researchers to go from idea → code → data → testing → iteration in one place. I appreciate you recognizing the potential early on, and I’d encourage you to revisit v2 as the platform has changed substantially since this review.
So many cool tools and cheap for how much it can do. Was definitely not underwhelmed. This is the new reality of quant trading and it’s fascinating
Not enough admin support / involvement. For a startup $60 is steep for what it had to offer at launch. What you would like to see either a 1. A free beta, or 2. Lower the cost. At least just be active in the discord. If thomas truly believed in his software you would want to see him actually using it - not leaving it up to us to figure out while collecting his $60 for what seems to be delayed support. Not to mention you can get the same working strategies with any other ai like chatgpt or claude ai at a fraction of the costs. I am sure Quantpad will become a good resource eventually but the whole issue was the mess of the beta. Didnt think it through - Money grab.

This review was written about the earliest version of QuantPad, before the platform had many of the features and workflows available today.
I’m sorry the initial experience did not meet your expectations. The early version should have had clearer onboarding, more structured support, and better communication around what the product could and could not do at that stage.
Since then, QuantPad has been rebuilt substantially. Version 2 includes a new project-based workspace, on-platform execution, expanded market data, improved research and coding workflows, and a much more complete support/onboarding process.
I strongly disagree with the “money grab” characterization. QuantPad has always been a long-term product we’re actively building and investing in, and many of the issues raised by early users directly shaped the version available today.
I appreciate you trying the platform early, and I’d encourage you to take another look at v2 if you’re open to it.
