I was with Pure Planet but not by choice
I was with Pure Planet when I rented a house. Tried to switch to E-on who were cheaper, but they refused even though I was up to date with payments. (I paid by credit card, I refused to set up a Direct Debit as I did not trust them.) The guy at E-on could not find out why. PP were amateurs. They had no help desk, no phone number and if you had a problem you were supposed to go on a message board where "volunteers" ie more amateurs would help you.

My 91 yr old Mother was scammed into using Pure Energy with the promise of saving on her bill. NOT!! IT doubled switched her back the pse&g..But still had to pay the $370,00 bill. Definitely NOT for the average American. What a discrase...user BEWARE extremely expensive!!

Pure planet took £500 out of our…
Pure planet took £500 out of our account just before Christmas 2022 saying that we had used this much energy. In fact we had used closer to £30!! They are now saying that Shell should reimburse us, however we don’t have an account with Shell so they won’t pay us either. We left Pure planet in September and they took the money in December! Awful service and have stolen our money. If pure planet can get back to us with our money that would be great! 😡pure planet managed to take the money easily enough but won’t give it back. It’s not on!
Beware amateur CON men
Encouraged me to speed up my switch and commit to 2 year CON tract then promptly FOLDED after first bill leaving me with 3 times the cost and rising

The company is going bust and now decided to rip everyone off, cause why not. Statements are insane, hundreds of pounds and I live by myself. Cancelled DD immediately but they took loads already. Disgusting thieves.

Another one bites the dust
So happy I left before they went bust. If you read my other review on them you could see I predicted this by them pestering me for just over £13 that they couldn’t even send a PDF that could be read for a final payment. Feel sorry for the staff but not the company. Cau Pure Planet

I found out they went bust via the BBC. Zero word from them via email or letter BEFORE it breaks to the media. This is such a shoddy and unprofessional way for paying customers to find out.
They would have known the writing was on the wall for several days if not weeks before it happened. To not communicate going bust but continue to send normal emails about a bill or "needing" meter reading running up to this event is despicable....not that matters now

Criminal, uncaring--Radio silence.
I would give no stars if it was possible. These crooks are trying to charge us £500 for energy used. We've sent them our meter readings, we've tried getting a hold of them for over 3 weeks now and they won't come back to us in any way shape or form. Utterly despicable, we have now gone to the Ombudsman as we are now happy with this nonsense and unwillingness to help. If you are at all considering these people, don't they'll turn you over and screw you and won't be courteous enough to put on a little make-up before you get screwed.
About to go under
Like one of the reviewers I had the same problem about they want to increase my DD on estimated consumption, won't take my meter readings nor do I they respond to emails, my only resort is either cancel the DD and the Financial Ombudsman.
While this going on found out Pure Plant is about to go under as latest casualty of the fuel crisis. As of 13th October 2021 the company has ceased to trade
Great until customer service needed
Been a customer for two years. Until I needed help from Pure planet I would’ve given 5 stars, the app was cool and meter readings easy. BUT recently i needed help and discovered customer service is terrible. There is no phone number, only a useless automated bot, that eventually agrees to pass your query to a real person. Then u have to wait at least a week for a chat response or an email. Agonisingly slow and frustrating. I want to use green energy, but I’m so disappointed with pure planet.
Smart meter / customer service info
Went onto the pure planet website to try and find out why they weren't taking readings from my smart meter even though the last 3 energy suppliers could do this with no problems ( the last one being in 2020) for the life of me I couldn't find customer service details... This is well hidden and there's a four step process to it, so ended up on Wattbot, what I got back was " Hi sometimes it doesn't work when you change over " ??? and a link to how smart metres work in which most of the information I knew but did not answer my question at all so I started asking more technical questions and the reply was we are not engineers you need to speak to customer service .....we are just customers like you ?? So what's the point ??? it took me about half an hour to get information about customer service from in my case very rude people who don't know the answers to the questions you ask in the first place , who are quick to pat themselves on the back dealing with as they think difficult customers
PS how to get in touch with customer service
If you log in, click 'help' at the bottom, then click 'Ask a question', Then you need to type in 'message the team'...... And your supposed to know this when you first go on
I asked a polite reasonable question, and when I questioned them about the reply not answering my question at all, things went downhill very quickly
People on Wattbot cannot access your account so what's the point it seems to be just a way of fobbing you off

Taking huge overpayments from my account and ignoring meter reading and all comunication!
Pure Planet increased my DD because it didn't cover their estimated usage. I gave TWO meter readings which were ignored and they increased my DD again to over £400 a month!! On their online portal, I asked for this to be looked into and a review of my account TWICE and had no response. Another £400 plus going out next month so had to cancel my DD as its the only way to stop them taking huge amounts of overpayments from my account.

Just wanted to say how brilliant Pure Planet has been with us, reading the reviews some people have had bad experiences but ours has been fantastic.
After a 6 month battle with SSE just to get an account opened we switched to Pure Planet the switch has gone through smoothly and was connected days after we moved in. Provided meter readings for our first and second months and have recived an accurate bill off these. We have also been invited to have a smart meter fitted which is nice and soon after we joined.
Downside or something to be aware of is they do take the first payment in advance so you need to be ready for that when you join!

Moved from pure planet in September…
Moved from pure planet in September they tried to take direct debit in October it wasn't paid I've contacted them numerous times all I got is we'll try to take it again later in the month. Despite emailing them and telling them I am no longer with them they still say they will take it. I've sent them a further 2 emails and no reply . Absolutely ridiculous not being able to speak to a person. Stay well away
