Proven Industries was born out of firsthand experience and hard lessons. After a family trailer was stolen—along with over $40,000 worth of equipment—we realized the true cost of relying on low-grade trailer security. That loss set us on a mission: to create the most secure trailer coupler locks in the industry. We knew that achieving the highest level of security would mean starting from the ground up. That’s why we manufacture all of our products in the USA using only the strongest materials available. Every product we offer is the result of rigorous testing and innovation—each lock design undergoes an average of 200 hours of research and development to ensure optimal fitment, functionality, and performance. At Proven Industries, we don’t cut corners. Our commitment to quality and security is what drives us, and we’re proud to provide our customers with some of the most effective trailer security solutions on the market today.

I tried… I’m done.
Update 5/14/26:
Yeah… never heard another peep from these folks. I decided to wait for the next promised interval. No proactive communication. I reached out today and was told a couple more weeks. So, I’m ripping off the band-aid and taking the loss with these folks. I’m trashing all my locks, hitch lock housings, and padlocks. I’m sorry they haven’t been able to figure out what they need to do to source locks, keys, or whatever the issue actually may be. Best of luck, folks. I hope you can get it together for future customers… I won’t be one of them.
Update 2/5/26:
I was contacted by Iris at Proven Industries to see what could be done to make things right. They offered several alternative solutions to address my need. I appreciate that they reached out to me. I have a fairly specific use case that prevented me from accepting their alternative solutions. Given that, not being able to satisfy my need is now a decision I made rather than a failure on their part.
I am going to stay the course and wait for my product to become available again. It’s predicted to be a month or two. Again, I’m deciding to wait in light of their supplier situation, the way they handled my issue once the issue was identified, and my decision to wait based on my unique need. I’ll post another update when the product is received.
Original review 2/2/26:
Yep, nope. Look elsewhere. They used to make good locks and lock hardware. Now, they can't even ship keys and lock cylinders. I had them cancel the order I placed with them months ago. I have kept in touch. Each time frame has been missed. I canceled the order and will be throwing all my locks and hardware away and reinvest in another platform. $2k... gone. Thanks, Proven Industries.
STAY AWAY from this shady business unless you want legal troubles!
This company lies about their products and if you complain then they publicly shame you and sue you, even if you're just being totally honest and not even rude. Stay away from this company at all costs.

An Absolute need for changes in Engineering culture
I understand that most of these reviews are in retaliation to your stupidity of suing a person who found a vulnerability in your locking mechanics.
But as an amateur lock picker myself, I had my hands on few of your products, and I can genuinely say that you guys should either stop advertising that it's "secure" in any sense, or work more on the engineering and design.
It is almost impossible to create an "unpickable" lock, the best you can do is to make it slow and hard as possible, and also learn to take criticism and bring a culture of continuous improvement among your engineers and designers. Hear the flaw, fix it and move on, repeat. That is how the best companies work, All the best guys.
Not trustworthy
PRC made locks with US made lock bodies. They sell problematic locks, prone to picking and once they were called out they invested time and money into litigation rather than improving on the products. Buy any other brand.
Update: They tried to flag my review to have it taken down as “defamatory”. If trustpilot takes down reviews because businesses don’t like them that just reflects on Trustpilot’s value. The facts remain the same: These locks are made in the PRC while being advertised as USA made.

This company is scamming customers
This company is scamming customers and refuse to take accountability for their terrible products. I bought a lock for a couple hundred dollars to lock a trailer of mine up. Some dude walked up on camera and opened it with literally just a coke can. He took about 6 seconds to open a “unpickable lock” then they tried to tell me if I posted a video of how the guy got in that they would sue me? Don’t use this company ever, find a brand that has a little bit of integrity. I hope the owners never feel safe.
Top tier protection for expensive…
Top tier protection for expensive equipment makes financial sense long term. The security design and construction quality clearly exceed standard alternatives. Daily operation confirms this was the right choice despite higher cost.

⭐ 1 Star revised to 4 Star
⭐ Initial Review (Original Experience)
I purchased a hitch lock from Proven Industries for close to $300, expecting a high-quality product and dependable customer support. Unfortunately, the lock I received did not fit my hitch.
When I first reached out, I was told in writing that an exchange for the correct model would be possible since the product was unused. However, I later encountered some confusion and resistance around their return/exchange window, which was frustrating and inconsistent with the earlier communication. At that point, the experience felt disappointing and left me concerned about follow-through.
⭐ Update – Issue Resolved (1/16/2026)
Following my initial review, I was contacted by a manager at Proven Industries who took the time to review the situation and correct the earlier handling of my request. They honored the exchange as originally discussed. I returned the incorrect model, paid for shipping, and they promptly sent the correct hitch lock.
The updated resolution was professional and appreciated. The lock itself performs exactly as advertised — it is extremely solid, well-built, and clearly designed to deter theft. While the initial customer service interaction could have been handled better, I do want to acknowledge that the company ultimately did the right thing and stood behind the product.
Final takeaway: strong product, excellent build quality, and a satisfactory resolution after escalation.
Great Customer Service
Ruby and Proven customer service was great. I ordered a product where the shipper was at fault which caused delay in delivery. They worked with me to get the delivery forwarded to a new address. Great communication from their team. Thanks again.

Never received locks. Poor service
I ordered 3 locks. fedex says it was delivered 8/31 and snapped the worst blurry picture of a box that cannot be identified. Cannot even identify anything around that resembles my residence. No video from my camera of delivery. I reach out to to the seller with no success. After a "month" long investigation, no resolution to the missing locks. All this over 150 dollars. Why did the seller not take up the issue with Fedex. Asking me for video proof and telling me to file a claim with fedex. I tried to file a claim but fedex recommends the seller file the claim or my claim will be denied. I got all the pictures and email to support this debacle. Forget the locks. Go to a company that values customer service.

I have own one of these for my RV
I have own one of these for my RV. When you see the hunk of steel engulfing the coupler you think there is no way to get that off. When I drive through the storage lot, I see many padlocks and other trailer locks that I suspect bolt cutters can get through. While nothing is bullet proof, I feel safer with this one and know it would deter someone to just go after easier pickings.
I had the one above for 5 years now and still love it. I had to return a 2nd one Sept 2025 and despite a hiccup initially, I was approved to return. Will update following my return.

AVOID PROVEN INDUSTRIES
Purchased a hitch pin lock for my 3" hitch, the only model on their website that they listed for 3" hitches. Well, it didn't fit my 3" hitch, the pin was about 1/8" short. I emailed them about the issue and at first I thought they were going to make it right when they said they'd exchange the pin with one of their longer ball mount pins. Sounds good. Then a new customer service rep got involved. They were requiring me to pay for return shipping of the pin for the exchange. The reason, they claimed, is that they had the measurements of the pin on the site. I went back and looked, and after some digging, yeah, they do have the measurements, but it was buried amongst pictures that are initially hidden when viewing the product. I would have had to know to click on a small link above the pictures to reveal the hidden images. Further, they don't even offer a different pin size with the lock I ordered, so I think it's only reasonable to assume that it would fit my standard 3" hitch. The longer pin they were going to exchange it for is from their Ball Mount lock, which in that product description specifically states, "**THIS PRODUCT IS INTENDED FOR THE BALL MOUNT, SEE OUR HL1 SERIES FOR THE HITCH PIN**". After over 30 emails (yes, THIRTY!) back and forth for almost a month with this incompetent rep, I finally had enough and said I'd return the whole lock and take my business elsewhere. Amongst those 30 emails back and forth the rep stated that that management would authorize waiving the 10% restocking fee as a "courtesy". In my return I included a copy of that email with that section highlighted. Recently got my "refund", and wouldn't you know it! They deducted the 10% restocking fee. Avoid this company!
Company ran by entitled children.
Made a comment about them being ran by children. They flagged and hid it. The comments/reviews speak for them self. Instead of getting in front of everything, they picked fights and hurled around threats. Just not a company to do business with. Would give 0 if possible.

Horrible product and horrible customer service
If you are looking for a solid piece of equipment for towing that can hold up to outdoor exposure then this is NOT your answer. If you’re looking for a company that stands behind their product and has excellent customer service, this is NOT that company. What trailer hitch doesn’t come with the simple pin that holds the 2” receiver on your truck? This trailer hitch. What “powder coating” chips off before it even arrives? This “powder coating”. To top it all off my order to return process so far has been 27 days. I still can’t get them to send a return label to get them their failed product back. They cannot grasp the fact that they sold a hitch and not a lock, every response is copy/paste about a lock and not the junk hitch they sold. I wouldn’t recommend this product or this company to anyone, unless you hate them.

locks do not work
locks do not work, got a bike stolen recently using one of their models. upon further research online, seems like this is a common problem and many of their locks are easily bypassed.
got an email saying the owner responded, what they responded with was this was a false review and the company does not make locks for bikes.
the bike was in storage using the larch lock model from proven industries/proven locks. got an insurance payout for the bike and a police report. gathering from the reponse of this lock company, they should really stop focusing on replying to online critiques, own their mistakes and improve the design of their models.
