What was told to me over the phone was different from what the technician said. It wasn't what I expected in terms of service.

We have had the MOST HORRIBLE customer service experience with Home Defenders and ADT- from installation to service after the sale to not honoring rebates- DO NOT HIRE THESE PEOPLE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

DO NOT USE THIS SERVICE!!

They installed everything, and it seemed alright. Then we noticed the installer took our home keys! I called back to get the locks changed, but all the offered to do was return the keys. The installer returned 3 days later with the keys, but we were not home. I said that having someone with keys to our home and knows our alarm codes is not providing the home security services they offered. It took over 4 hours on the phone to get them to agree to change the door lock. Seven days later, and still do not have the changed lock, and our keys are still out there!!!

Secondly, the install removed sensors from our home and then sold them back to use!!! This was $500 is extra charges for devices we already owned, and work with the system we got from them!!! This was a VERY intentional deception to increase the sale price of the system, and theft of personal property from my home without permission!!

Stay away!!!

worst company ever if you don't buy stuff from them you will get the run around and not what you want.

I have never been so disappointed in dealing with an alarm company than the experience I had with Defenders - Protect Your Home. I will tell any family and friends that are thinking about getting an alarm system to not ever deal with your company. I have made a formal complaint with ADT about them having you as an authorized dealer. To be told that I would receive an App for my smartphone and then later after equipment was installed that I could not get it for the monthly price I was promised. After numerous phone calls to your company and hours spent on the phone going back and forth on this issue is so disappointing. As soon as my contract expires I will be cancelling this service and going with a company that stands behind what they say.

high pressure and miss leading will not recommend ADT or your company to anyone

Jeffrey Florio who installed my system 100% lied to me. He claimed, falsely, that I would be able to cancel the system within six months -- I told him I didn't want to purchase the system because I was worried about the three-year contract (I only bought it because it was for the house my mother lived in and she unexpectedly passed away.) I feel like I was taken advantage of, at a tragic time, just for a sale. I honestly think he should be ashamed of himself. When I called to try and cancel I was told he or someone else would call me back and they didn't. Do not go with Defenders (an authorized dealer) - they are not honest. Go directly to ADT To get your system installed.

I went to the website for free quote Which has at the both if not satisfied with in 6 months you can cancel well they got us on a 3 yr contract and the beeping is disturbing my dad with his dementia . we got for him to be safe but it is affecting his health and the person who was living with him at the time to turn it off an on ;eft now it really just beeps and he is getting very irritated and they won't let you cancel unless you pay 75% of the contract. it is a scam to keep you paying money

My experience with ADT has been horrible every representative I spoke with has been horrible. Many times siting on the phone with ADT FOR HOURS WITH NO FIX as soon as my contract is over I am leaving

Upfront honesty would be greatly appreciated. Don’t see false information. Promotions and equipment that is not what someone is looking for

Everything is always an issue with billing , they tell you one rate and you pay another . Then they promise you to fix it and it never gets done . Terrible service

I wasn’t totally satisfied with my service. I had to call and get additional sensors at an additional cost to me because my tech never mentioned that one was needed where my alarm is mounted . Because of this anytime the alarm is armed, it trips to stay mode. I called in to complain and was told what the issue was. Now I had an appointment... stayed in all day @ 2:15 I received a call stating the tech didn’t have parts. I’m not happy. My time is valuable too. I have other things to do other than wait for ADT, only to get a call for a.new appointment. Now I have to again wait for another technician. Time is money fir me as well!!!!!

I am 5 months into my contract. And Protect Your Home is nothing but lies. They trick you into a lower rate. When the agent comes to the house. They change and make their own rules. Even today I have been trying to get my bill to the promotion I signed up for and they have me running around in circles. I will report them.

The initial phone conversation is very deceptive. It seems like a bait and switch the installer is put in a bad situation

We have been long time ADT customers in Texas. Just recently moved to Florida and had ADT installed in our home. We were given just ONE fob for the system-could have purchased a second one. We also were told we could control the system on and off via my cell phone. After several attempts, the cell phone access to the system still does not work. There has also been no follow-up to see if it is working. That is just not good customer service and was very disappointing after the 5 star service we were used to in Texas.

Worst shopping experience ever. Called ADT for a quote on a wireless system since we were replacing our windows and our current wired system was no longer workable. ADT sent a rep out to give us a quote. This rep turned out to be from Defender and immediately disconnected our present working alarm system while inspecting for our quote. This rep then gave us a $6000 bid for an ADT wireless system. After a hour of haggling the price stood at $4000. We felt this was high and decided to take some time and consider our position. The rep then stated that a price increase was due the next day and to keep our price we needed to do a partial install that could be cancelled within 72 hours. The next day we called our present alarm company and received a quote of $938 for a comparable wireless system and came out and reconnected our current system for free. We called ADT were told in order to cancel the ADT system we needed to fax a cancellation to them. The supervisor I spoke with asked my reason for cancelling and then made a counter offer of $1200 for the $4000 ADT system. We declined and faxed cancellation and verified that our account was cancelled. However, our misery was far from over. We still had to deal with Defender removing their equipment
(with another quote) and charges to our credit card for equipment and monitoring. It has taken a month to clear up the charges and convince ADT that we don't have their service and certainly don't want it. This experience has convinced us that we will never deal with ADT again. A very shoddy business.
