absolitely TRASH. I opened an ADT account 2019, cancelled immediately after 1 year because I realized their price is unfair. Took me 14 phone calls 8hrs to get them to tell me the specific cancellation process. I need to fill out a form and fax it to them. It was 2019 and I need to FAX. Fine, I faxed a day after the service was established, before their THREE DAY deadline. Finally thought there’s won’t be anything else after they called us continuously for a while. Today I found out they charged me 700 dollars three times, twice late 2019, one early 2020. What the hell??? Absolutely a scam company, trash. I will call tomorrow to get my cash back, if not I will sue this scammer ADT

ADT doesn’t tell you that they will change your monthly charges even though you sign a contract, it’s in the very fine print on page 5. They also do not tell you that they are not liable for anything should they “not respond to monitor during a break in”. So they do not have to do their job or maintain their promise. It’s a huge let down. Cannot write reviews on ADT websites so their website shows fake ratings! Should all be illegal! After reading the real reviews all ADT keeps saying is “we are sorry for your frustrating experience...” but if they were really sorry they would 1. Change the policies their customers are complaining about 2. Ensure potential customers knew about these issues by having them initial the areas of the contract that outline these outrageous stipulations 3. Take down fake ratings and allow these real ratings on their adt website to keep them transparent and honest

ADT failed tremendously when they contracted with this company. I’ve had ADT for almost 10 years but when I recently moved they secretly put me with this company. These ppl have did nothing but lie constantly & scam me. They won’t answer the phones even when they say it’ll take 1 minute you’re on hold a WHOLE hour. They try to bounce you around cause they know they lied. I have an email from a supposedly manager saying what’s supposed to happen but they’re still going around it thinking they can hold me in a scandalous mischievous contract. I’m on hold now as I write this & have been for 45 minutes. They’ve yet to bring out my equipment promised as well as refund my money as promised. I met a guy who works for ADT & told me that Defenders were crooks & now I see it ALL. There’s sooo much to write but ALL I’m going to say is run ppl. I’m sure the good reviews they have on here are falsified & paid to be written. Nobody seems to know what’s going on. They promise to call you back but you NEVER hear from them. I’m going to be seeking counsel next & sue them for the lies they’ve told repeatedly

This was the worst customer service I ever experienced. They instructed me that they could use the system I had in my home. But when the representative came he connected a whole new system charged me for it and put my system in test mode. Cancelation of service is like trying to pass a bill through congress and the house. It took 4 phone calls to talk to a manager that was finally helpful. The equipment was installed incorrectly they put the glass break/shatter on the same side as the window. They put motion sensors in and I already had them in the home beside the new one. They put door sensors on 2 of my doors that had hard wired sensors in the door already. They glued sensor to the garage door and one fell off at 430am. I could continue but I think this is enough.

I wish I could give negative star, because this company deserves it. We moved and we were instructed to take our equipment, put it in the new house and call when we were ready to have a technician check the equipment at the new home.
We got horrible customer service when we called and requested a technician come out to check the equipment. They sent a sales rep, who could do nothing for us other than sell us a NEW set of equipment. Who would want to do that when the equipment they have functions perfectly? Additionally, you have to start with a new 3 or 5 year contract when you move, it doesn’t continue to your new home, which is absurd. We told the sales rep we weren’t doing that, but evidently he put a new request in for a new system, which we repeatedly said we did not want.
This company constantly tries to up-charge and is nothing but unhelpful. I’ve spent hours on the phone with them going round and round.
We chose to just pay the $550 to get out of our contract since we don’t want to pay an absurd amount monthly for the worlds worst security service. I removed our bank account info so the payment wouldn’t automatically go through, to ensure we were aware of when the $550 would be deducted from our bank account. I was told by a customer service rep the payment wouldn't automatically go through if I did this. But, I was not surprised to see that the payment did automatically go through. I’m not surprised since this is such a terrible company.
Even prior to our move, we had issues with this company for the moment we signed our contract and we had the service for 2.5 years.
Once again ADT lost a customer to another security company.

This company is the biggest fraud I have ever dealt with. ADT should be held liable for this. They are allowing this dealer to leverage their brand establishing instant trust then these people are coming in and just lying. From start to finish everything was a lie. They are slimy. I was charged 6k for what the ADT corporate office admitted looked like it was triple charged.It has been a mess. I have never in my life dealt with a company like this. I work in corporate sales and they are running what I think is an illegal business. The misleading information, avoiding giving you a contract. I'm just floored. These people are LIARS and using deceptive trade practices to get customers.
I called a month ago ( or longer) to get transcripts of the audio call when I “signed up”. They escalated the issue and told me someone would be in contact within a few days. Never heard from anyone and it’s been way past that timeframe.
So now, we will be contacting a family friend who is a consumer protection attorney next week to inquire about suing them for Deceptive trade practices because had they not lied to us to get our business, we wouldn’t be here in this situation. The recorded calls will prove that too but I suspect the recorded audio will be “missing” or I will never get those copies or even a call back.
I’m also filing formal complaints with the FTC, the BBB and ADT corporate in the hopes that this “authorized dealer” will be stripped of their partnership with ADT or at least held responsible for their deceptive business practices. It’s a shame that they have to outright lie and mislead people to get business.
Steer clear of this company and go through ADT directly if you can. Avoid this company like the plague.

I've been meaning to write this review for 2 months now..We had a poor experience.. the quote you get over the phone is inaccurate.. the pressure they put on you at the house is ridiculous. It's a game, they pack up and walk out, they come down in price, they make you feel dumb, repeat x100. I was alone at the house and at one point the technician said "I'm sorry we couldn't come make it work all because of something as "insignificant" as an app" (when I expressed really wanting access to the alarm system on my phone).". He was rude and sang a completely different tune than when first got there. I absolutely felt pressured l and I wish I didn't cave. They left a hole in the drywall around the outlet and didn't mention it until I pointed it out, but didn't attempt to fix it. He tried to make a joke about how I care way too much about things.
The Alarm doesn't always set when we leave the house, it will "abort" and there is no way to check and see once we have left... but we are locked in and forced to be unhappy for the contract! Yay!

Terrible. These people are dishonest. They are NOT ADT. Did a hard credit hit without authorization. The system install is a mess and the equipment is cheap. I tried to cancel and they would not permit me to do so. The people threatened me and hung up on me on numerous occasions. Stay away from this company. I can't say enough bad things about these people. Buyer beware. Stay away.

Destroyed our old system to force us to buy
Came to give a free quote. When we told the technician we weren't interested because the package he offered wasn't as good as what was said on the phone, he told us that he had already cut all the wires to our existing system because he thought we would want to switch. Now we don't have any system at all.

I would give negative stars if I could. This authorized dealer is ruining ADT's corporate reputation. While looking to replace my current alarm service I spoke to Protect Your Home and set up an appointment to have a service technician come out and replace my existing alarm. He communicated very clearly that my monthly monitoring fee would be $27.99 / mon. and I had to supply them with my credit card to enable a $99 hold / pending charge to my account. His promise was there would be no charge until the system was installed and without the 3 digit security code he could not charge my card. Upon further research I learned $27.99 is really $48.99, The install cost is determined at install and the $99 install / activation fee hit my card withing 24 hours. I immediately called and cancelled my appointment. Now looking / waiting for the refund. Stay away. The biggest thing to look for in a security company is trust. First impression. Liars and cheats. There are many options out there and I urge you to stay away from this ADT dealer. The Protect Your Home guys you are hiring to protect your home are actually trying to rob you in the process. Crooks.

I call again at a later time and date i was given the run around then called back they sent out a technician to verify what im say is true then 9 months later they still think im gonna negotiate keeping their service i ask for it to be terminated the call was terminated again.
