I can’t say if the service we received thus far with Propp is down to the company as a whole or the individuals we’ve had the pleasure of being assigned to. Our contact Abby has been nothing but amazing, really going the extra mile to make sure that all options have been looked at before giving up when issues or discrepancies arise. We needed a parter to help us with borrowing on 3 properties, and it took us a while to settle on Propp, we tried other brokers but none have been as accommodating and helpful as these guys. Painful experience
The mortgage company chosen by Propp made this a very painful experience, their solicitors delayed the process and when payment was finally released it took 48 hours to transfer so we missed our completion date which created a lot of problems. Propp were in regular communication but I felt they were defending the lender rather than representing me.

While we’re pleased to hear you felt we stayed in regular contact throughout, we’re genuinely sorry if at times it felt like we were siding with the lender rather than supporting you. That’s never our intention.
This particular case had a few legal hurdles along the way, including some last-minute solicitor queries and a title restriction that needed consent before completion. There were also some communication issues between the lender’s solicitors and the rest of the chain, which unfortunately led to confusion about what was outstanding and caused avoidable delays.
We do appreciate how frustrating the final stages were. As you were made aware, funds were released by the lender late in the day (too late for same-day completion) so the transaction moved to the following day. While that timing was outside our direct control, we understand the knock-on effect it had and we’re really sorry for that.
That said, we’re proud of how quickly we moved your application to offer, especially while you were holiday, including securing lender exceptions and working to keep your purchase on track with the sellers. Our team pushed hard throughout to keep momentum up, and we’re sorry it still ended up being a bumpy ride.

Very Disappointed – Poor Experience with Propp
I used Propp for a mortgage last year and initially had a good experience with the broker (Matt), so I decided to use them again. Unfortunately, things went downhill quickly.
When applying for a bridging loan, I provided all the necessary information, but the broker misunderstood and passed incorrect details to the lender. The process took 6 months instead of 2, and when I raised concerns, I was simply told I could go elsewhere—knowing full well that would delay things further. Even after securing the loan, there were issues due to a lack of proper explanation from the broker.
Despite this, I gave Propp one last chance for a Buy to Let mortgage. Again, the urgency was ignored. I assumed the application had been submitted, but found out it hadn’t. I was then told on Friday it wouldn’t be done until after the weekend, and was again advised to try another broker if I wanted it faster knowing that would not be feasible.
The only positive was a staff member named Tev, who was genuinely helpful. Unfortunately, my overall experience with Propp was disorganised and unprofessional. I would not recommend this company.

While the delay in your case has been frustrating, it was a result of lender decisions, property classification inconsistencies, AML procedures, and the need for multiple exceptions due to the unique nature of your circumstances – all beyond our control, and we worked tirelessly to persist with your case to help you get the outcome you needed with a new lender.
We want to emphasise that we remained committed to helping you through each stage - even after you expressed that you no longer wanted to work with us. We respected your position and offered to close your case, but you chose to continue, and we continued to work your case.
Your complaint ultimately stemmed from our offer to submit your case on the Friday, instead of the Wednesday – which, while we were sympathetic to your time constraints, wouldn’t have made a difference to your progress given we still required signed documents and a completed valuation.
We’re glad Tef’s support stood out and wish you the best moving forward.

Very poor communication – would not recommend
I had a really disappointing experience. It took them over a couple of weeks to respond to simple emails, and even after I provided all the information he requested, I waited more than 10 days with no follow-up. If you're actually looking for answers or timely support, I’d advise against using this service. Got the mortgage application completed with NatWest from start to finish in less then a week.

We've had a look at your case, and we can see that we dropped the ball on this occasion, and for that we sincerely apologise. We’re pleased that you were still able to get the outcome you were looking for despite our shortcoming.
We pride ourselves on our 5-star reviews, so naturally acknowledge that negative feedback must also come with the territory - however, we think it’s worth taking a moment to reflect on the effect public naming and shaming can have on an individual.
Your experience fell well below the standards we’ve set ourselves, however Brad, like all of us is only human. While that’s no excuse for the delay you experienced, it’s important to acknowledge that no person will get it 100% right, 100% of the time.
While holding businesses accountable is fair and necessary, individual shaming in a permanent, public forum can have unintended and lasting effects on real people, their mental health and wellbeing.
While the team member in question didn’t get it right this time, we stand by his reputation as a dedicated and knowledgeable adviser and we’re proud to have him on the team.
