Our garage door button stopped working EXACTLY one year after installation. Our original button(when we moved in our house)lasted over 10 years — this replacement barely lasted one year. Scheduling was a headache with multiple missed or shifted appointment windows. When the technician finally arrived, no diagnostic work was done, yet we were charged money for that service— which we were later informed by staff that we shouldn’t have been charged.

After more calls and follow-ups, the owner eventually came out himself and replaced the button. The door now works, but communication about charges and refunds was unclear, and I had to request a receipt.

What went well:
• Owner eventually came out
• Issue was fixed
• Staff is polite and cordial

• The button failed after only one year, indicating poor product quality
• Multiple scheduling issues
• Improper charge for diagnostic services
• Poor communication and unclear warranty terms
• An extended warranty was not offered or discussed at the time of installation last year, nor was one offered during service this year
• I left a message on Saturday, 2/14/26, and my call was not returned
• A receipt was not provided at the time services were rendered; I had to request one and did not receive it until two weeks later

How well they know their products. Also will not try and reap you off or tell some crap to get your service. They know what they sell and more. Can't go wrong with them.

We are preparing to list our home this week and our garage door decided it was time to break. After hearing many recommendations for Proper, I reached out and they were able to come next day!!!! Chris’ customer service from start to finish was A+. Thank you!

Service was great, called to schedule service and had them on site within 3 hours. Replaced both door springs and the top bearings. While there asked about the bottom door seal and they also were able to replace that also. They also lubed the door rollers and adjusted the door opener. Very friendly and performed the needed work quickly. Very happy with the service and the crew. Will recommend to others.

Charles was professional and helpful. He recommended that the springs could be under warranty and offered to look into it. I found the paperwork of my door purchase and shared with Chris. It saved me about $250
