Fantastic Prompt IDE & Prompt Versioning w/ Fantastic Support
I have been using Promptmetheus for ~1 month and it has had a huge positive impact on my workflow.
Initially I would run prompts in the OpenAI Playground, and I created my own little JS scripts that I'd use with Tampermonkey, to quickly run prompts or delete messages.
Compared to using Promptmetheus, that was very painful and time consuming. When your output greatly depends on just one sentence in the prompt, you use up a lot of time and energy that could be better spent in thinking and optimizing your prompt.
I kept searching for "prompt versioning" or "prompt version control", as I was unaware of the term "Prompt IDE". Luckily I came across someone with the same issue who mentioned Promptmetheus in the OpenAI forum.
When I saw the demo video I was 95% sold. Now I'm so enthusiastic about it that I signed up especially to review it.
It's been such a great find:
- you can split your prompt into blocks, to make editing it more manageable
- you run your prompt asynchronously, so you don't have to wait for the first output to finish until you can run a new one to see if there's a difference between them
- it's actively developed and the developer is very responsive to feedback and additional features
Overall it's reduced my cognitive load greatly, and it's saved me so much time, that I had to leave a review.
The space is still new, terms like "prompt version control" or "prompt IDE" aren't well known, and I'm sure many developers would benefit from Promptmetheus.
They offer a 7-day free trial, which was perfect for me. I got to try it, showed it to my employer, and he was also sold.
Thanks for a fantastic tool!
