This review relates to Aftersales
This review relates purely to the aftersales, parts and warranty department. Purchasing the caravan was a fantastic experience, and I couldn't fault the sales team. Unfortunately, my experience once warranty issues arose has been the complete opposite, with poor communication and a very disappointing level of service.
I collected my caravan in November 2025. During the handover, it was discovered that the alarm reset switch was faulty. I was told the part would be ordered and that I would be contacted to arrange the repair. Nine months later, it has still not been repaired or replaced.
In March, I also raised a warranty claim for several issues, including an exterior locker door that was allowing water ingress and a front barn door that was misaligned, letting in both light and water.
Preston Caravans requested the caravan for one week to carry out an initial inspection, but I left it with them for two weeks. Despite having the caravan for that length of time, I was then contacted and asked to bring it back so they could take photographs and measurements to begin the warranty claim with Elddis. I don't understand why this wasn't completed during the original two-week visit. As I live around 50 minutes away, this was a significant inconvenience. After discussing the situation, I was eventually allowed to take and submit the photographs myself.
Several more weeks passed before I chased the progress again. I was then asked to return the caravan for another set of photographs, this time using a straight edge. Once again, after explaining the inconvenience of another unnecessary journey, I was permitted to provide the photographs myself.
After another lengthy delay, I recently chased the claim again, only to receive a voicemail asking me to bring the caravan in for a third time so further measurements and readings could be taken.
By this stage, my 2025 caravan had already had its first annual service, where a 25% damp reading was recorded in the affected locker door area. After months of delays, repeated requests for information that could have been gathered during the initial inspection, and having to continually chase for updates myself, I have completely lost confidence that these warranty repairs will ever be completed.
As a result, I have now approached another Elddis-approved workshop in Bamber Bridge. They advised that the initial inspection and photographs would take around 30 minutes, after which they would submit the warranty claim. Unfortunately, this means I have had to start the entire process again, but I have far greater confidence that the repairs will actually be progressed within a reasonable timescale.
To conclude, buying a caravan from Preston Caravans was an excellent experience and I would happily recommend their sales team. However, based on my experience, I cannot recommend their aftersales and warranty department. The lack of communication, repeated delays and poor handling of what should have been a straightforward warranty claim have been extremely disappointing.
