Scam photographer
I follow an Instagram page Fun4KidsOrlando and they offered a giveaway from a business called Portrait Orlando, and I supposedly won. So I scheduled an appointment, showed up to the location with my toddler and instantly the outside looked super shady, Shante answers the door and she was pleasant. She took our photos and I scheduled a time for later that evening to view the photos. Later I emailed her and asked her if I can hop on late, she agreed. I hopped on and she wasn't on, I emailed her and no response. I went ahead and rescheduled but she had only ONE option on her whole calendar and it was for a Tues or Wed at 5:30pm which is a horrible time as we are just getting home from school and work. Well it was my fault I missed the appt. I email her and she doesn't respond for a couple weeks. I freak out and start to think it's a scam, I reach out to Fun4orlandoKids and they gave me a phone number for her. I called her and left a voicemail mail, nothing. A few days later she replied and said she had a good allergy. Okay, I trusted she was being truthful. So then she told me that she didn't miss the first appointment that I did and she did indeed go onto the zoom that I need to pay $50 to reschedule and since I missed the appointment I forfeited the supposed mini session I won. Things become more and more weird at this point. So I book the appointment and pay the $50 but I can't stay quiet I reply back to her telling her that this is not a good experience and how do you do a gubewaythen take it away. I also mentioned to her I don't think this is legit now and that she's holding my photos for hostage till I pay. She turns around and refunds me and says she will not show my photos. At this point my gut tells me she's a fraud, I can't find anywhere online where I can leave a review, her website is generic and her address is not valid. She has an Instagram page that she doesn't post on and doesn't respond to messages. I'm concerned at this point that maybe she just takes photos of children as the giveaway was targeting parents and child since she used a page for kids and events for kids in the orlando area. All I want to know is she doesn't use my son's photos and I want to see the photos if she's a real photographer. I want to be able to purchase my son's photos.
