I ordered plates that they said were uk legal and a fixing pack. Plates arrived and aren’t UK legal and no fixing pack. No phone number and emailed them and had no response.

Initially fine, my order arrived in good time.

However, 4 months after I fitted them they started fading. I tried contacting customer support several times but they didn’t respond.

Don’t waste your money, go elsewhere.

I've used this company several times in the past and had no issues, in fact been very happy with them ..... until now!
I recently ordered two plates with a dark blue UK badge motif on them and once fitted, and the green protective film was removed the badges were purple.
Not blue at all as on their website designer, but purple, definitely purple, not blue, purple.
I contacted the company several times by e-mail and they replied (you can never get a name though - just sales team) but they just wouldn't accept they were purple - despite several photographs clearly showing they were.
They are not even a hint of purple, but very purple!
I'm not colour blind but they obviously were prepared to argue black is white, or purple is blue in this case.
Incidentally, there's one or two other issues with blue being purple from other customer reviews with this company on Trustpilot.
They offered to remake the plates at a reduced cost but I asked for a refund instead.
Credit to them they did send me the refund form quickly but there are several reasons they can refuse a refund and one is if they have been fitted, or not in original packaging.
Personally I don't think this should make a difference with a number plate, it's not as if they can resell them with my Private registration on them and they're no good to anyone else.
Anyway, I've decided to write it off as a bad experience rather than return them and be told they don't meet the criteria for a refund.
But be warned , there's a reason this company has a poor rating on Trustpilot, It's a pity I learned the hard way on this occasion.

Needed a new set and wasn't too sure who to go to with so many on market, most with some very mixed reviews, but very pleased so far with my plates, they arrived on time and from what I can see appear to be of good quality; as I wanted a 'screw free' look I ordered sticky pads and found the fitting tips to use WD40, white vinegar and isopropyl alcohol to get the old plates off worked a treat, time will tell if the sticky pads supplied do their job, fingers crossed...

Do not wast your money this is the worst plate company ever they will take your money and you will never get your items I’ve ordered plates over 3 weeks ago and still didn’t arrive I’ve emailed them 50 times they will not reply they do not care about customers when they have your money that’s it’s they no longer care about you do not waste money to buy from this website they are scammers or just simply a bad run business

So pleased with my plates they look amazing can't fault them, excellent customer service I will definitely use again.if you want quality plates look no further and they arrived on time and the online process so easy

It's a shame this business is run so poorly, they have a decent set up and easy to use site, but they blatantly don't give a $#&! about you the customer....they totally ignore all cancellation emails or negative ones, and only reply to enquiries about purchasing, delivery took 3 business days and plates were packaged well, but a this is spoiled by their total disregard of customers....this will cost them eventually, not sure if they give a $%&! but it's impossible to maintain a long term business model like this when you totally disregard your customers, and just take their money....I would never use them again, and can say goodbye to my 50 quid, buy I've learnt a lesson to never purchase from a Country outside the UK, who hold the customers in such poor thought....STAY WELL CLEAR OF THIS MOB!!

Don't waste your time or money with this company. I’ve ordered my number plates and paid £7.50 for delivery which was supposed to be within 3 working days then after I made a payment they said it will be delivered in almost a week from the day I ordered.. I needed my plates ASAP so I contacted them within 2 mins after placing the order (by sending them an email) to cancel the order.. they didn’t even bother to reply!!! I sent another email asking whether my order has been cancelled or no as that’s what I requested, they replied saying that they’ve never received any of my emails so I have to return the order once received. On the 16th august I returned the order via tracking next day delivery so I can see that this has been delivered to them.. since then never heard anything back!! I already sent them a few emails to the email address they replied from previously but no response..
They don't supply a phone number so you cannot call them. They even sent the plates without checking if I’m the owner of the car which is illegal! Just lost £30 cause I don’t think I will receive my money back. No customer service at all, such a disgusting way to treat their customers!

I purchased a 5 character 4D laser acrylic shortened plate (14 x 4.4”) for daily use on my car (with legal printing etc) and the shipping was fast, I was kept updated on my order and the plates arrived exactly as I expected them to.

Ordered plates for my wife's car, everything seemed great until dpd driver decided to not post through the letterbox and was ultimately taken as it was just hanging outside the door unattended as i wasn't home. However, having speaking to the sales teams regarding this incident it was handled extremely poorly. They had 2 mishaps to go back to DPD, one being the safe place was ignored and two video footage of the driving caught in his lies. However, they yet ask ME proof of me walking into the house without anything for the evidence to be "sufficient enough".

I chose to ignore bad reviews as I knew others who purchased through here but next time i am going with my gut.. NEVER AGAIN.

Ordered 1 front plate and 2 rear. The ONLY benefit of using this company is the need to not provide documentation which is buried in my loft. The challenge is the quality of the plates. They use Oralite reflective film instead of 3M which quality plate manufacturer appear to use. Specifically the films reflective quality is not a patch on 3M when compared side by side. Their manufacturing process did not trim the reflective film to the plate leaving an overlap on two plates that I needed to carefully trim with a blade. The printing was malformed on 2 plates. Last, when drilling the plates the reflective film separated from the perspex. It is impossible to prevent this happening even changing the technique used each time to minimise impact. Really really poor quality product in terms materials, craftsmanship with no apparent quality control. They are also expensive compared to the competition. Delivery was 3 days late. I would not use this company if I had know. I would have chosen a reputable UK based company.

awful, ordered regular UK legal plastic plates which should have been straightforward enough and went for standard road legal size UK plates with a GB flag on blue background. i like the TVR honeycomb finish (nicer yellow) so went with the TVR plate in same size on rear All looked good (online pictures of what plates should look like) so ordered. when plates arrived the printing of the GB blue/flag was washed out and grey NOT blue (rear plate). the front plate had a huge long back hair stuck inside and the backing on the plate protruded so not flush, the translucent film on the rear plate did the same... within a few weeks dirt would have stuck to the exposed sticky side here meaning shoddy looking plates and replacing. THESE plates are poor quality so go elsewhere, i have 2 private plates and change cars every few years so have had many plates made up and these are the worse.. ONLY good news is i got a full refund and took my money to Demon Plates. As long as you know before ordering you have to supply photos of docs (drivers license, V5, etc) with these guys they are easy to use... TBH to stop someone getting false plates for something untowards i would have expected platesforcars to do the same!

First time i ordered from them i had my parcel the next day as they were working with DHL. Now when i’m on the website it shows that they still work with DHL so i pay for my order and they send me a f……in DPD tracking number.
I’m still waiting for my order a week after this. The parcel is in holland i’m in france and it’s shipped from ireland. Complete nonsense!!!!!!
Last time i order for them. Even royal mail is faster

Terrible customer service, damaged goods received, blamed me took no ownership would never use this company EVER again.

They allow you to design illegal number plates even though you ticked UK LEGAL, and when you complain they blame you because you designed the number plates, platesforcars is another one of those companies that sell %%#<<# and to hell with the consequences regardless of what they may be, in my opinion they are crooks and it would not surprise me if that company is responsible for number plates being cloned as they require no actual proof that a person ordering plates own the number plate , it’s a free for all and platesforcars, just like trump take NO RESPONSIBILITY

Customer Service is Shocking, Ordered plates, one has a mark on it, showed them proof, haven't heard anything since, wont be using again, should have read the reviews before using.

Website clearly states next working day delivery on its main page under the name of the company.
They then charge you £11.50 for this but be careful when you check out because it's not actually next working day delivery, it's 1-2 working day delivery. Unlikely to be 1 as while the website doesn't state it they aren't actually in the UK.
Customer services are cheeky and the minute you complain start crying about how they won't be 'blackmailed' and 'defamation'. They might want to look up a dictionary as it's not defamation if it's true.

Plates were fine but if you want next working day as the website advertises go elsewhere as it's a lie.

My son bought 2 square number plates from them and asked for the Lexus logo to be put on them … they put it on one side and moved the numbers and letters to the other side , letters are not centralised to the plates now , no refund or replacement after stating the problem, can’t put them on the car now , not cheap either may I add , not happy with the service and wouldn’t recommend anyone using them
