Terrible customer service and refusing refund on faulty product

Terrible customer service, my dad purchased a CarPlay system which was received and is faulty, we have tried contacting the company via email and phone call on many occasions without any resolution on the matter. We are requesting a full refund due to receiving a faulty unit which we are entitled to under consumer law. They are now avoiding our emails and saying they will contact us via phone call but then never do. I wouldn’t recommend this business as we are now a lot of money out of pocket and still have a faulty CarPlay unit. Extremely disappointing.

My unit is going well

My unit is going well. The service and advice received over email is great too. Losing 1 star as they sent me the wrong unit initially (twice I beleive) and I had to wait, but they rectified it and even offered me a free external mic for the trouble. I'd buy from here again. Unit still going strong 2 years in.

Our experience was… questionable

Bought a head-unit in December, fascia didn't fit, no big deal, contacted them and the lady on the service hotline tried to be as helpful as she could but from there we were send multiple wrong fascia's until the 4th one (received in February) finally fit. Microphone quality was terrible (even with the optional, external microphone) We asked for a refund in multiple emails which was ignored at first and then referred to their Website stating, once installed there is no refund. But how are you meant to find out if the product works as described without installing it?!?
Customer-service went stale and completely ghosted us until I reached out to mulitple review sites like this one to voice our story.

The Manager, Andrew then contacted us promising to fix our issues but only if I remove the bad reviews first. Couple more back and forth and, credit where credit is due to Andrew, after upgrading us to the next better model that he had promised us to make up for our bad experience, we now have a pretty good functioning head-unit with good call quality.

Still only 4 Star review due to the hassle, ghosting, time, stress and effort it took to finally get there, Product is good but Pinnacle Car radios definitely has some improving to do on their customer service.

Frustrating to Deal With - Problem Finaly Resolved

Bought a head unit with surround to fit my 2013 Landcruiser 200 series
The good - the surround fit and head unit looks really nice.
The bad -
Arrived in a normal Aus post box with bubble wrap. Looked very sus for something that was supposedly new.
Could not get the Toyota OEM camera to work with the unit despite their claims on the website.
Their solution for support was to pay upfront $400 and take it to one of their installers. I live in regional WA and installer is in Perth. This was not going to work.
The chat bot “Jacob” only suggested locating a pink wire on a random Toyota plug as the reverse trigger wire. Never said which cable this trigger had to connect to on their harness. Bloody hopeless.
Now they are ghosting me and not responding to messages etc.
hate to think how they handle warranty claims.
Local car audio place quickly identifies the problem as two missing Aeropro cables.
Cost all up including their time $150
Update: Reviews work - good communication from their management, refund of unused parts completed, promised refund of cost by local audio specialist to get Landcruiser OEM camera working.

2005 Lexus IS250 new head unit

The head unit is awesome! It works perfectly! Andrew the Pinnacle installer was knowledgeable and very quick and efficient installing the head unit. Would highly recommend for any older Lexus IS250 non sat nav replacement

Has anybody got a phone number for this company? They won’t reply to emails and won’t exchange the incorrect unit they sent out.

Very Good Unit with great Support from an excellent Price

I had a problem with the base level unit for my car, so I rang the support line and received very good help and was advised to upgrade for $100 more and the technician even ran back to double check the current unit could be used. We upgraded and with the video supplied and his advice we fitted and have a very good unit was an amazing reversing camera, which he included for free just for the trouble we were having.
In short it’s a good unit with great instructions and excellent support. Very happy.

Missing Parts, Good Resolution

Sent the headunit without the accessories. Paid for installation through the company, only to be told he is 90 minute drive from my house. Paid him an extra $100 to come to me, only for him to have to return a week later to finish the job once the missing parts were sent. Installer was great and follow up communication with Anthony was fantastic and a resolution was reached that we are all happy with. Headunit looks great in the car.

Great Quality and Service.

I encountered some issues with my head unit. But the Pinnacle Car Radios support team were very quick to respond and very helpful in figuring how to solve the problem and sending me a new head unit to replace the faulty one. The actual head unit itself is very good quality and works well with my car while being easy to install myself. Would buy from them again.

Inconsistent information, refused refund, and concerning communication

I placed an order on 13 December for a BMW head unit with paid installation, totalling $1,499.96. Shortly after ordering, I was offered an installation appointment. I was then later advised that the unit was not ready due to manufacturing delays, despite the installation having already been discussed and a date proposed.

Over time, I received inconsistent information regarding whether the unit was ready, still being manufactured, or available for installation. Due to these inconsistencies, the length of time involved, and similar experiences I later became aware of from other customers, I lost confidence in proceeding with the purchase.

I cancelled the order before any installation took place and before accepting the goods, and requested a full refund. This request was refused unless a 30% “stocking fee” was retained, despite no service being provided.

The communication that followed was extremely disappointing. Rather than addressing my concerns professionally, I was accused of acting unlawfully and warned against pursuing a chargeback or contacting Fair Trading. I found the tone and content of these messages inappropriate and intimidating.

This was not a case of changing my mind lightly, it was the result of conflicting information, extended delays, and how the situation was ultimately handled.

I would strongly encourage anyone considering this business to carefully document all communication and be aware of how refund requests are treated.

Worst experience ever

One of the most horrific experiences I’ve had with a business. I was sent the wrong harness despite sending photos of my dashboard, car make and model and photos of the back of the existing head unit. It took weeks of going back and forth with no resolution. There is no way to speak to someone in person and they refused every attempt at a refund. They blocked me from their social media because I left a negative review and messaged me to say my review was “damaging”. They only care about how they look.

At no point prior to opening a PayPal dispute was a refund offered. The dispute was opened after multiple attempts to resolve the issue and request a refund were unsuccessful.

We’re genuinely sorry to hear you feel this way, and we’d like to clarify a few points for transparency.

Your order was fulfilled on December 18. On December 24, during the holiday period, you contacted us regarding a harness concern. Despite limited details and photos, our team responded and confirmed that a replacement would be sent the following week.

As promised, we express-shipped three replacement harnesses at no cost to ensure compatibility and avoid any installation issues. Unfortunately, Australia Post delays were outside of our control.

At no point did we refuse a refund. In fact, we agreed to process a refund, however a PayPal chargeback was opened, which legally prevents us from issuing a refund until the case is closed. We have asked for the dispute to be cancelled so we can proceed, but have not received a response.

Your enquiry was received during our holiday shutdown period, which delayed our ability to escalate refund request to our management. Once our full team returned, we attempted to contact you directly to resolve the issue; however, during that phone call our staff were spoken to in a condescending and disrespectful manner and you ended the call before a resolution could be discussed.

A refund was not offered specifically prior to the PayPal dispute because the matter had not yet progressed through our standard resolution process and our management was on a holiday break. The dispute was opened before we were given the opportunity to complete troubleshooting or arrange an appropriate outcome.

We would also like to clarify that we do not block customers for leaving reviews, and we continued responding to your messages despite them being sent during the holiday closure.

We remain willing to resolve this fairly and encourage you to contact us so we can complete the refund once the PayPal case is closed.
