I'm 42 years old and I've struggled with acne my entire life. Lately, I've been breaking out with hormonal acne but it's decreased noticeably since I started using Phyla. I would highly recommend giving it a try

Purchased this product for my teenage daughter. She had acne on her forehead and temples but after using this line she ended up with acne all over her face. It was not a good match for her and I truly wish we never tried it. Also, the ingredients are not as pure as advertised, Still trying to figure out how to treat what Phyla caused. Reached out for a refund and received 50%, as advertised. Disappointing that they only refund 50% when their product does not work, so it was a total waste of $50 plus a dermatologist visit. The site states "try risk free for 60 day). 50% is not risk free. Wish it worked and had high hopes but it did the opposite.

I had used benzoyl peroxide products for years with mixed results. Phyla’s product’s definitely work better for my adult acne; much less drying and clearer skin. I will definitely keep using it. - Logan

I have oily skin and am in my mid-forties. I’ve been using this for over a year now and it really helped with cystic and hormonal acne. I started getting acne (again) in my late 30s and had been searching for products that would help address the issue without being harsh on my sensitive skin. This stuff works great on its own as a moisturizer so I apply it twice a day and wear it under makeup. I find that I don’t really need much else aside from a sunscreen!

I love these products, my skin is beautiful 10/10 purchasing all these products again. it’s definitely a win in my books!

The products were great, cleared the acne I had and I’m still in love with the moisturizer and cleanser!

May not work for everyone but I tried everything and this was the only thing to get ride of my last bit of acne. Would recommend, great option for a no harsh chemical acne treatment.

My experience with phyla was great. Results were fast and the packaging was super professional. Overall great experience

The research looks promising on P. Acnes phages and they seem to have actually researched this product, however, they claim no one in their study had adverse reactions or a "purge" when taking the product. I had a horrible breakout when starting this, worse than I've had in many years, but I kept using it for 2 months because their support told me to keep using it and that my skin was purging -- contradicting their study. Breakouts continued past 2 months, so I really don't think this is a normal purge. They also say you cannot use other products with their serum because it reduces the potency, and when I asked which particular ingredients to avoid in other products, they gave me no answer.

I think this product is not actually well formulated and is not a good application of the promising research on this (if you're curious, DOI: 10.1128/mbio.00279-12).
Also, their business practices are suspect (see other reviews). Unlike every reputable skincare company, they don't remind you before charging you for a renewal -- i.e. they don't give you a chance to cancel before just charging you $100 for the next shipment.

If you want to try Phyla, be aware this is a very experimental acne treatment, and the company is not as responsive and helpful as they seem to be. I would not recommend this to someone who doesn't have a dermatologist to consult with through the process.

This product simply does not work. I used it EXACTLY as recommended in the directions. I had a horrible experience. First of all, the serum contains oil (the company admits this). Oil is a moisturizer. So it moisturized my skin, making my acne 10 times worse. Then, in areas where I didn't have acne before, acne started appearing because of this. And then, after two months, when I asked for a 50% refund (only a 50% refund!), they denied my request, because they said I had to send them back the empty bottle. An empty bottle? Why? And for only a 50% refund!! Well, even disregarding that, the product does not work, PERIOD. Maybe they'll fleece some people with their clever marketing, but they are NEVER going to retain any customers with a product that is useless and even DAMAGING.

Not as advertised! Bout what was supposed to be a 60 day supply of acne medication. Instead, I received two sample sizes. There is now a notice on their website that say you will receive three sample sizes because they are out of the full size. The problem is that the sample sizes will last maybe a week at best. They are also more potent than the actual product which is ethically strange for a company to do. It was hard to get in contact with the service team who are requiring me to send back sample sizes for a refund. This seems unusual for a skincare company. I do hope they make sure to pay for the shipping label. At this point, I’m not sure they will! The product costs 70 dollars. It is way too expensive for this type of thing.
